Thanks for taking your precious time to help me..!!
And if this sound is common means, we don't have a solution to get rid of this?
And moreover my bike is facing this problem from yesterday only due to that bad roads! [emoji49] Too bad NH-47!

    • R15 v2 Conekit issue

      Hi,
Guys here is a story of Chennai's great Yamaha Service Centre located at 'Jafferkhanpet'

Narly one month back that is 44/06/16 I gave my bike for servicing and for changing the Conekit as my bike has covered 24,000Kms in one and a half years and my Handel was completely wobbling when I used to brake and slow down. First I thought it is because of the tyres as it has been completely worn out as i haven't changed it since I bought the bike. So I got it changed and I thought the wobbling problem would solve but again the same problem occurred. Then I consulted my friend who started driving motorcycles even before me. He told me to go for the Conekit replaced.

I gave my bike to the 'Yamaha authorized service centre' as I mentioned above for general servicing and Conekit replacement.

I got the bike in the evening I paid for everything. Now here after I started driving back to home from service centre the wobbling problem was solved but now what I felt is handle being very light and 'khat-khat' sound comes from front fairing.
After 1 week I rushed back the mechanic did something and gave me back. Now it was somewhat okay okay.
Even I thought that they have cheated me and not changed the Conekit but when I looked below the Handel all those bearing were shining

Now my R15 doesn't feel like R15. Also I forgot to mention now when I apply brakes hard my Handel wobbles a little. I doesn't feel confidence like before in driving my bike. This thing has thought me never to go back to authorized service centre. Even I am not a localite of here so I don't even know anything much about local garages and mechanics

Today I have given my bike for General Servicing at 'AB Bike Zone' at Sholinganallur -Medavakkam Link Road and told them about all problems. They told me the delivery of the vehical will be in the evening.

I will update you guys with pics in the evening as of now I don't have vehical with me. Please Help me

      Thanks

        Approved and merged!

Have you used voice typing for this post? Because common words like vehicle, handle, cone-set kit etc were spelled wrong and other complex words were spelled right!

Anyways, this isn't a big issue. Cone set takes some time to get set post which you have to visit the SVC again to tighten the already tightened cone set previously. The new kit wears a little bit and then sets completely. So, effectively yes there is a khat khat/handle movement issue even after replacing the cone set for the first time. Ride the bike for a week and take it to whichever mechanic you want to and just ask him to tighten the cone set. Do NOT replace it once again.
        Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Good hammering at the bottom of the t stem should fix the problem.

Thanks for the reply guys I will update you guys in the evening.

Also I got a update call from 'AB Bike Zone' They said me cone-set has been tightened and I got amazed when they told me to replace 'rear disc plate' as I told them to change the rear disc pads as they were completely worn out and yesterday only that disc pad expiration sound came when I came back home at the time of parking

Also they told me to change the 'front disc pad' but 1 week back I looked at rear and front pads they were all right and even mechanic told me that they can be driven. Only the rear disc pad was more worn out than the front ones

Now I wonder guys this much fast disc plates can be worn out?

Even I have once changed my rear and front disc plate' due to my negligence but I accept at that time I don't used to look into my disc pads much.

                Update Guys,

Got my bike back from 'AB Bike Zone'. Well I can see they have done a pretty good job. Cone-set kit issue of that 'khat-khat' sound is solved for now. They have serviced the bike pretty well. Also they told me to keep a check on engine oil level in after 15 as they saw white smoke coming out of exhaust in cold engine . I use Motul 300v 15w50 . They told me that 'I would have to do a reboring if engine oil depletes' but I am getting 40-45Kmpl and also there is no depletion in engine oil ever as this problem before once has been told to me by a mechanic at 'Castrol Bike Point' when I once went there for engine oil change.

How much KM has been completed?. AFAIK DIASIL bore does not have over sized piston. As a general rule as we much up miles its better to go with slightly thicker grade oil to compensate the clearance. Semi synth Motul 5100 or fully synth 7100 in 15W50 grade would suffice.

Till Date it has completed 26,000 Kms, yea I know that thing about using full synthetic or a thicker grade, I started using Motul 300v Full Synthetic after 15,000 Kms completion
Also as I mentioned before even for my coneset kit problem I went to the 'V Care Bike' Mr. Vincent Raj road inspected the vehicle and told engine is good. I think this white smoke in cold engine is may be due to condensing also I have never delayed in changing my engine oil, oil filter and O-Ring. I do it once in 4000kms or else 60 days whichever comes first
I used LeoVince Slip-On for 1 month and then went back to stock as I read Valves would burn and etc. Also from my experience even with LeoVince I was getting same 40-45Kmpl

And anybody have any idea about the roughness I feel in my engine? My bike is nearing 1000 kms and whenever I go beyond 5k rpm the engine feels so rough and I don't know why!
Somebody tell me what causes this roughness!
                      Thanks in advance! [emoji5]️

The engine run in does not stop at 1000 kms brother. The engine keeps on polishing itself for long time. So there will be certain roughness for sometimes. Do not expect them to magically disappear just after 1000 kms.Keep riding and get regular services and bike is keep getting smoother as you munch up the miles.
The roughness you are talking about.. is it the noise from the engine or vibrations or both??
The slight vibrations at 5-7k rpm is normal, nothing to worry about.
                        Cheers.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Believe it or not my bike took almost 7000km to settle in. One can feel the smoothness as you log the kms. Patience is the key, dont rip her. I was maintaining 4-6k rpm till 2000 kms. I never redlined may be 2-3 times till now and not tested the top speed. I feel beyond 110 kmph one can feel the stress in the engine and that remaining 20-25 kmph is not worth the effort.
Also engine run-in is similar to horse training. One has to practice slowly and steadily. Dont take for long drives atleast 2000kms. After second service you can take her say 100-150 kms trip but strictly < 80 kmph with ample break in between. Then drive inside city for few 100 kms and then take a long drive with more or less same distance. This is the critical lesson I learned from my pulsar 180 ug3 where I took chennai- bangalore trip often after 3000kms. The reason is due to extreme tight tolerance of new parts the heat created by friction is more. Due to the expansion of metal it may worn out more than required. After every trip that stupid pulsar sound very differently on the next day cold morning. We cant compare lemon to an Apple. Another way I found to determine run-in is after every oil change with 1000km run, use torch light or under bright sun open the oil fill plug and inspect the oil. If the oil glitters like silver (due to aluminium particles) the engine is still running in. I observed till 4th oil change (1000, 3000, 5500, 7000 kms)

                            Hi All,
I own a RE ThunderBird 350 and still felt a need of more aggressive and sports oriented bike. So i bought a pre owned R15 2012 model with 14K Km on ODO.
Its condition looks good as there is no scratch or accident spot on bike and engine revs normal too. But once i tried to test it on higher RPM it refused to go beyond 6000 RMP.
So would you mind telling me what might be the reason for such behavior and engine was felling stressed to reach 100KMPH.
Also the rear tyre have visible crack line which i guess is due to it left unused for long time.
Any comment or advice is most welcome.

                              1. Replace New air filter, spark plug, HT coil and plug cap
                              2. Try to clean injector , fuel pump, throttle body. Add 1 ml of 2T oil per litre of petrol for next 500~750 kms
                              3. Since the bike has not run much it might form some sludge. Change the oil to Shell Rimula R4 with new oil filter and observe the oil color after say 1000 kms
                              4. Check tappet setting. If its too tight there will be power loss and chance of burning exhaust valve.
                              5. Replace new tire and lubricate the chain with gear oil with recommended slack.
                              6. Check Regulator/ rectifier for proper charging of battery. If the battery is weak, replace it with 5 amp battery
                              7. Flush old coolant and replace with new coolant. Same applies for brake fluid.

                                Hello everyone,

My R15 v2 is making some engine noise.the sound is not that much but it is not smoother as it was earlier. I thought this is because of old engine oil but after pouring Yamalube sporty premium also there is no change.. .Can it be because of tappet clearance or chain tensioner.
                                THANKS IN ADVANCE
