  • So new tyres IN the stock MRF type only. rear revs 130*70*17 and front zapper fy1 90*80*17.. Changed it from pungaliya tyres on JM road, Pune.
Total cost Rear= 2450/- ( lowest price i found anywhere, other quoted prices ranging from 2600 to 2900) and front=1700/- . Sold the old tyres @350/- total 3850/- punch on the wallet.
One important thing for Pune guys. MRF tyres will be out of stock for a month mostly because of the serious power outage issue in the Tamil Nadu factory. Anybody lookin to chage rear tyre 2 are in stock with MRF showroom on Nagar Road and one is in stock with MRF showroom(Vinayak Tyres) on paud Road, kothrud and also one in stock with Lokmanya Auto on Karve Road, Near Garware College. Front tyre is rare. Mind you guys when opting to change. please place an order with the company a month before.
Please make a note that as I bought both the tyres making do for the low price
Why I changed at just 12K on the ODO.... Well the reason is hilarious number of punctures and also rear tyre had almost worn out.

    • Lawrence from ganesh enterprises is the manager of service centre, but he is not much aware of tappet noise I guess. They took my bike for a short ride to check for tappet noise but said its all OK. Its prominent from 5k to 6k in all r15's. I dont have any friend having a r15 near my place, so cant make out the difference actually. We two can meet up on eastern express highway and check our bikes (if you want to)

Here you go, attached are pics of the Hazard lights switch, indicator with the led, indicators with leds with the hazard switch on.

No specs as such for the LEDs. Ask them about LEDs for indicators and they should give you the right one. As i told earlier, the entire setup costed 750 bucks.
Options for LEDs were white, blue and red; that makes choice (white) obvious. But I would recommend going for the hazard setup with stock indicator bulbs.

Since these are white LEDs, visibility under daylight conditions is a little less than stock. But its equally awesome at night.

        • ^^ Nice setup Teejay. Does it mean that these LED's indicators will be permanently ON if switched on?? Or will they blink as the normal indications do?

Which LED's are you using for parking light and from where di you source them? Let me know if you sourced it online.

          • ^^ They will blink as usual. LEDs were sourced from one of the local shops. I have posted a pic of the kind of LEDs used for the setup, not sure what they are called. IMO, if you just ask for LED indicators, you should get the right ones.

Hey Ron , Can i claim insurance for the damaged parts ? How much they will offer for Plastic parts and for Iron parts ?
yes you can. ask the SVC guys, they will help you out.
but i think a police case has to be booked, since that way you described the incident it looks like 'hit n run case' have a word with SVC guys first.

I know a particular Red 200 NS owner who is going to behind you to get those LED's fixed on his ride.

                      • Why is that switch for? If we replace the stock parking bulbs with this LED's then its ought to work on the r15's switchgear itself. Isnt it?? Maybe you have used it to make all the lights glow simultaneously.

do not worry. everyone puts the same quantity of oil, 1lit. the capacity is more because oils heat up when engine runs (same in the case of petrol where the tank is bigger then the mentioned capacity of the tank), you cant fill the oil to the brim and run the engine. in simple words its given 1.2lit for safety purpose.

and as far as the checking the level, its given in the manual. for detailed thing please go a few pages back where Eshan has explained properly.

                            • Hi All,

I finally booked R15 yesterday from Ganesh Enterprises Vikhroli, Mumbai. Been waiting a long time

I had a few questions regarding the delivery of the bike since this is the first time I have bought a vehicle so I don't know the process.

Yesterday while booking the sales agent told me that I will be getting my bike by Tuesday or Wednesday maximum. He told me to go to the Thane RTO (since my address comes in Thane) when the agent calls just to show the originals for the documents which I have submitted for the registration purpose.

                              My query is:

                              1) Will I be getting the registration number on the spot? or will he be giving me TCed bike post the RTO business.

                              2) If I am getting the number, Can I ride my vehicle to my work place which is some 18kms from my place? What documents should I be carrying? I've heard that smart card takes 30-45 days to reach by post so by then what documents are valid?

                              3) Can some please refer me links to know this process which could help a newbie like to understand what is the process and help in resolving queries?

                                Congratulations!
                                jumping to the point
                                1. You can opt to get the delivery of the bike after getting the reg. number. This was what i did to save from carrying extra papers and also to visit the showroom again to get the number. As you will be getting your bike by tuesday or wednesday, ask them to start with the registration formalities and give your bike a day later if it suits you to wait for a day more. I had booked mine on Wednesday and got the bike with reg. number on next tuesday. 6 day wait totally worth it

                                2. Road tax receipt/insurance invoice/ RTO registration receipt. All these documents should be carried until you get the number painted/embossed/sticked on the plates.
also just to be on the safer side carry invoice of the payment made for the bike. Photocopy would do. I had asked a traffic constable on these. He had advised for the payment invoice.

                                3. Google uncle dude. or just refer the two points up here ^^ ! Explore

For the bold part... what exactly do you mean here? You can offcourse ride it. That's why you have purchased the bike right! RRide on but safe
