ok so i met our guys, 5 R15v2s, 6 including mine. non of them had any kind of trauma signs on that part. weird. one person rides with pillion more often.

Apart from this, got the viaterra claw from saquib bhai. must say, looked impressive.

The body panels are made of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic. It is a plastic which is known for its great mechanical properties of impact resistance and toughness. As I have mentioned before, this is not something that would happen at one go, it will take repeated applications of loads at the same point to make it fail.

The only other possibility is a moulding defect wherein during the making of the part through a process called injection moulding stresses were trapped in the part. The part that comes out of the mould looks perfectly ok however, over a period of time the stresses are released leading to hairline cracks coming to the surface of the part. This makes the part weak and ultimately leads to failure of the part. However, nowadays this is a very rare phenomena. Injection moulding machines are computer controlled and all parameters are checked and adjusted in real time basis making such defects very rare.

good info there (y). but can he now claim that it might have been manufacturing defect?

Difficult. From the looks of the part, it does not seem to be stress related failure, though only a very close look at the part will give a hint if there are any stresses present in the part. Actually ABS has such great mechanical properties that if 100 kg person were to stand on one of these panels nothing will happen to the part. If you look carefully, the part has failed at the mounting collars. This is the weakest part of the panel. However, even this part of the panel should withstand such forces. Therefore, its highly unlikely that it failed due to someone putting pressure on it once or twice. It has to have happen over a period of time.

Is there anyone else who has faced this issue?
The main cause for this is as mentioned by other members and only 2 common reasons someone picking and pushing your bike aside regularly holding your triple set fearing and pillion always sitting pressing hard the triple sert fearing.

Mine has done close to 5300 kms. Hoping to meet you soon at future Chennai meets. Btw where do you live in Chennai? I'm from Villivakkam.

Hey guys, I own a not-so-stock ride(racing blue), with UNI filter because i was advised to keep away from K&n and the sponge filter was recommended as a better alternative by my buddy who owns a LE white with a Daytona kit and I feel its satisfactory, had it for quite a while now. My ride has clocked around 13k on the odo. I ride in higher rpms more often than not and many of the roads here in Hyderabad are not the best friend of the tires. Starting to see some wear & tear, especially on the rear. I would like to replace them with new ones around 15k or so. If you could help me out in deciding which ones to go for, it'd be great. Stick with stock? Or any other brand with same section? Wider section? I'm confused. I want good stability & grip as I want to be able to improve on my cornering skills which i recently had the pleasure of learning(to an extent). Also which free-flow exhaust would be the best bet in terms of both looks and performance? I'm not a big fan of the dagrex(looks only) ..
                      Please advise..

Btw, Maybe I should highlight that both, rocker and I have SE blue-white R15s. Could be a Special Edition Manufacturing defect?

i doubt that. because all (all r15v2) are made up of same materials.

If you want to keep the handling characteristics intact then its best to stick with stock tyres not just in terms of size but also make. Period!!! What many people do not realise is that even if the size of two different make are identical, their profile, side wall stiffness, and the way the carcass is built all make a huge difference in how each tyre will behave and this is a significant factor in way the bike will handle. If you feel that you will be comfortable with changes (not necessarily bad or good) in handling then you have choice of Pirelli Sport Demon and IRC are choices that will be readily available.

For exhaust you have choices of Leo Vince, Two Brothers Racing, Yoshimura. However, all these exhaust systems cost significantly more than the Daytona kit.

Thanks for the info mate! Im told replacing both tires at once would be the best option. Is the IRC tire that comes with ninja 250 the one u mean? I've seen it on a guy's R15.. Also Can u point out the prices of the said tires so that i can manage a good deal from the seller.. However, I guess the exhaust changes gotta wait a bit longer.
