Anyway, if I was personally owning this machine, given a choice I would most likely write off the machine rather than try to repair it. There is no way to tell how much damage has been done to the chassis and whether the chassis integrity and accuracy is intact. If the steering stem has borne the brunt of the impact it will require the services of very specialised workshop to correct the deviation. I don't think anyone in the country has that type of workshop.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
There are couple of things wrong with this photo. First, the front end looks too clean, which means that most of the damaged parts have been removed and the front end has been dismantled to a substantial degree, thats the reason why there is nothing at the front, not because of the severity of the accident. While the crash seems to be a substantial one its very likely that its not as big as the current state of the bike leading to suggest.Originally posted by Ron Syl View Post

at first even i thought that it might be a reckless guy n all. later i thought that it might not have been his mistake either. cant really sayOriginally posted by nadz11.ns View Post^^ damn.. Nothing left in the front part.
what might have happened to the rider.!
mindles noobs, they think by owning a sports bike, they get the right to make our Indian roads into race tracks.
well, AFAIK the bike fell in a parking lot, not sure if it was being ridden or fell stand still. i think the front took a beating, they had removed the front part before i went there. and i saw no other signs of scratches n all on the other part of the bike, so safe to say that it was not a major one.Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View PostThere are couple of things wrong with this photo. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Got my service done yesterday. Bike has clocked 6700km. Switched from Yamalube to Shell Advance Ultra after a reccomendation from a fellow rider so I thought I'd give it a try and man the difference! Smooth as butter is an understatement for how smooth the bike has become. Apart from that got the air filter changed, although the mechanic said it would last a little longer and plonked in a pair of Philips Crystal Vision bulbs as well.Torque...because sometimes testosterone just doesn't cut it..

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
My friend got them for me. I believe they were for 750 bucks and yes they are 4300K. If you plan on buying the same, do notice that they will drain the battery very rapidly on high beam. So you have to keep switching between high and low to allow the dynamo to recharge the battery. I'll be buying a bigger battery as well to see if it fixes the issue. Also if you can spend another 500 bucks, I would highly reccomend you to opt for Diamond Vision instead.Originally posted by GP Racing View PostBro. what did that Philips Crystal Vision bulbs cost, are those 4300k ?

too early to change the air filter. no harm in changing, but was not needed. and shell ultra is FS right? too soon to shift to FS :/Originally posted by <F.I> View PostGot my service done yesterday. Sorry, my bad. I misread it.Originally posted by Soul_Hunter View PostNo dude.
Shell Advance Ultra is an FS oil, it's the AX7 which is SS.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
OK, and i hardly use high beam, most of the time i am on low beam. But if i go for 35W/35W setup, it won't drain battery rapidly. i will also consider Diamond Vision, thanksOriginally posted by <F.I> View PostMy friend got them for me. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
It is recommended to clean and lube at every 500 kms . I do it at 1k kms or whenever chain gets dirty. If you live in a dust free area, you can abvioulsy increase the lubing interval, but still, I would recommend not more than 1k kms.Originally posted by Ezilkannan View PostI have a question, what is the interval for lubing the chain on R15? 300-500?Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hello, my R15 has done 1900km.
The tappets of my bike was loose since first service and when I informed them, they passed it away as normal. But since the last 500km, it's increased a lot and the engine sounds like a sewing machine, took it the ASC and this time they agreed to set the tappets right on my 2nd service which is due in 15 days.
Is it ok if I Ride for another 15days or I need to get it set right away?
Is it a thing to worry about as the cylinder head cover has to be removed?
How to avoid it from reoccurring?
ASC suggested that revving the bike hard loosens the tappets, but most highway rides will be at higher rpms itself:banghead:Last edited by akhilash95; 12-09-2013, 06:25 PM.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
That's what the mechanic at the ASC that I service said too, but I don't continuously ride at 8k+ rpm all the time, so it must be fine. I suggest you do the same (cruise around 100-110). I think that is quite a reasonable speed considering the road conditions of our country.Originally posted by akhilash95 View PostHello, my R15 has done 1900km.
