It's was a 2008 model R1 with 2 lamps and 2 projectors
First of all its very sad to hear that your friend had met a crash.

And there comes to fitting it in r15, if you go back somewhere in the middle of this thread, you can see the picture of r15 which resembles with r1 alike twin projector. But then I am not sure whether the projectors are the same size as r1 projector, even if it does how do you think that fitting a projector of of a monster to a baby will work out in your favor and to what extend is the big question. What is the battery capacity of r1, may be you can use less powerful HID in r1 projector.

Let us see what other members says about the entire consequences

First of all, I dont think anyone has tried this. I mean the R1 projectors on an R15. Many have put 4 projectors on R15 and some have screwed their battery, some haven't. So I guess its all down to you. If you search this thread, you can find many many many discussions on fitting projectors on R15's. If its the full headlight assembly, you cannot put it on an R15 or infact any other bike since it was specially made for the R1. So you have to take out the projectors alone.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

        Suresh@yammie & Irvin ,

Thanks for the valuable inputs ,

suresh - i completely agree with your point and have taken it in consideration that HID for R1 will kill my battery , so have decided to take a low power HID in yellow which would not harm my battery .

after discussions with some of my mates i have been advised to take yellow HID's instead of the White ones. ( just needed some help here )

@Irvin - i went through couple of posts on the thread and no one has tried anything insane than what i am thinking . so i m still searching .

lately in the last several rides including today's i have been feeling like the 5th gear of my bike, which used to accelerate so awesomely post 6000 RPM, has lost it a bit (particularly around 7000-7500) for some reason it seems...i dont know if it's just in my head or what...2nd, 3rd and 4th gear have been pulling post 6000 as kickass as ever, but the 5th one doesnt feel to be doing that as much anymore...some days i know it's probably because of strong headwinds (but in that case, how come 3rd and 4th doing as great as ever?), but the other days when there's no extra winds i don't know what's happening...i hope it's just in my head.

Nope its not in your head, Make sure the clutch play remains same for all gears or you noticed any difference while gripping the clutch post 4th gear and above 6k rpm in particular thus result dip in acceleration

Other way down is the gearbox mated with six speed transmission each got various channels directly mapped with ECU for predefined torque conversion in each gear(starting from gear 1&2 to generate initial torque, 3,4& 5 to get the punch out of the torque expanded through initial gears & gear 6 for top speed and more) so may be torque converter not translating the actual demand to ECU effectively which may lead to lag in acceleration at times... Have the SVC guys check that out

Yea. It would be, if its not , drill a hole on the fairing so that you can fit it in the way you want. You can get it at Navneet Motors Blore. Would cost around 10k for a pair, though am not sure about the pricing.

Bro, those mirror's would cost above 10,000Rs, for which you can replace the R15 mirrors nearly 100 times. You can invest that money on gears or helmet or something useful. Theres no guarantee that S1000 mirrors will give you good view of whats going on behind you. And just ask yourself that how wise is investing 10k on mirrors and that too for just looks

The moment you said 10k i left the idea of replacing my R15's RVM with S1000rr's. Yet i still have a question.. Since RVMs play a role in saving the bike's fairing during a fall, do we have to change the RVMs after a fall?? while the bike was new i couldn't adjust the RVMs easily, i used both of my hands to adjust it(not for the mirror part but for the stem part) and after a fall my L-RVM is easily adjustable by single hand and R-RVM is still sturdy so do i have to replace it??
