^^ You could try lubricating or changing the cable, I think but not 100% sure the brake pedal comes as part of the rear set and may have a thread lock on the bolts, which means you most likely would have to weld an attachment to get enough torque to remove the bolts. In such a case you would ideally purchase a set of replacement bolts before trying, as they may not be in stock at the stealership (I maybe wrong though!)

Will just say it's good to be here. I have been avid follower of this thread and it feels good to see people discussing things with such passion and exchanging beautiful facts. Unlike people (straight out of the bollywood movie on roads) saying with their eyes i wish i could kill him to get a feel of this bike
. Now besides sarcasm, so proud of this marvel and technology it offers.
Moreover i can't seem to wipe that smile of my face when riding her, A liquid cooled engine with a baby radiator and a fan at my disposal wherein getting hands on any bike before was out of the question, that too after 10 years of break. My parents simply won't agree. They would be like you take bus, auto - ricksaw or learn to drive a four wheeler.
Now after i turned 30 and recently got married my wife would be like
[A BIKE YOU SAY, A BIG NO NO...]
Will definitely let you know my side of the story as to how i managed to get one after all this years.
After initial release, i knew it had to be this one and after lot of research, post and powerdrift reviews, i just couldn't take my eyes of it.
Got Black limited edition with golden rims.

Will shortly upload pics.
sorry for such a tad bit of write-up. Wanted to share my experience.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Well, that makes sense if it comes as a set. I did check the cables; look fine to me. Not too keen on spending for a new pedal set. Might as well spray some more WD40 on the damn thing and hope it stops grinding.

Btw does 2014 R15 Really has an O2 Sensor?? Its not mentioned anywhere in the official site..
What cable are you guys talking about?? Rear brake does not contain any cable....Just a pump and brake fluid hose. And did you try pressure washing it or cleaning with pressurized air???Originally posted by spit_fire View PostWell, that makes sense if it comes as a set. I did check the cables; look fine to me. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
WD40 is not a lubricant, it's a dispersant, hence the original name "Water Displacement, 40th formula," go on to you tube and search "how to lubricate brake cable" two options really, 1) put a plastic bag around the top of the cable and seal it up at the bottom, pour in around 50ml of oil engine oil or transmission oil works well, pull the cable back and forth until the oil seeps through the bottom of the cable or no. 2) squeeze oil through a hypodermic needle though the top entry of the cable until it seeps through the bottom. Another thing, did you check you brake fluid and how worn are your pads, these are the first things you should check! also learn to do basic maintenance yourself, rather than trusting anybody else, after all the bike is quite simple to work on.Originally posted by spit_fire View PostWell, that makes sense if it comes as a set. Treat my reply as something you should do for your bike as a pre-monsoon (annually) task for your Brake x2 (lube the piston) throttle and clutch cables, save yourself a visit to your local bike dickter (Dr) when things jam up.......!Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Nice info! Yes, I know WD doesn't do jack s***, but does seem to help temporarily; for like five minutes. I did check the brake pads, sanded them with an emery paper which did seem to help braking (perhaps placebo), cleaned the piston, and replaced/ bled the brake fluid with a DOT4 one. The reason I wanted to take the pedal out is because I don't trust the SVCs!Originally posted by stefanm View PostWD40 is not a lubricant, it's a dispersant, hence the original name "Water Displacement, 40th formula," go on to you tube and search "how to lubricate brake cable" two options really, 1) put a plastic bag around the top of the cable and seal it up at the bottom, pour in around 50ml of oil engine oil or transmission oil works well, pull the cable back and forth until the oil seeps through the bottom of the cable or no. 2) squeeze oil through a hypodermic needle though the top entry of the cable until it seeps through the bottom. I might as well try lubricating the cables again like you mentioned. If the grinding still continues, well, I guess I'd get the rear brake pedal set replaced

PS. I didn't try pressure washing/ cleaning that part. I probably should.

Yes. Atleast 30% increase in braking and no spongy feeling also. Sure braking at the spot. Loving how the brake pads are biting the disc plate.Originally posted by Akash_Kiran _ Balram View PostAny significant changes when you swap the brake lines with those of the pulsar?

220 front brake lines are available very easily. Will cost you 1190 INR (incl of tax).Originally posted by akhilash95 View PostMay be the spares guy heard me wrong, even I was wondering about the same. Are the front ones too short? I guess the only option left will be pulsar 220 brake lines which are difficult to procure or the HEL which cost significantly more.
Another victim of the vigil. Be careful, Karnataka RTO is now very proactive in checking for outer state vehicles.Originally posted by adhirajb View PostHi Guys, need a very urgent help.... today my bike was confiscated from electronic city bangalore by RTO officials since its a MH bike. Agreed. No changes. But I guess FI system has been made a bit more refined but no difference in power output.Originally posted by saquib3005 View PostNop, no changes, other than graphics no changes.
BTW bro am I wrong to say that O2 sensor is already present in the V2, cause any FI system requires an O2 sensor for calculating the fuel injection rate?Yamaha YZF R15 V 2.0 (Oct, 2012 - Present)

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
spit_fire, My bad not a cable on the rear, you have the piston thing (same on the front) this thing you simply take the rubber boot off and wash it, squirt a dash of oil or dab some grease to the mechanism and put the boot back on. Also while you're at it check the micro switch for the brake light has enough tension and the brake light functions properly, mine had become very loose. Earlier reply corrected.
If your brake's a spongy then you may need to bleed them or check your fluid level.Last edited by stefanm; 05-30-2014, 12:12 PM.Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!

When you're touring, take the latest PUC from your home town. You can roam around for 30 days with the PUC as a proof.Originally posted by Richu Royce View PostIm sorry for an OT question...but what will happen to the people they catch touring?

Bro use your knee and backbone for support and don't put the whole weight on your wrists. You'll feel better if you can do this.Originally posted by Abhishek.Das View PostThank you everyone for your wishes. Still somewhat getting used to the riding position. Initially wrist used to pain real bad after riding it for mere 5kms. Now it's a delight but little wrist and thumb numbness continues.
