Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Yes!! and You dont need to worry when you go to ladakh. But you will experience power loss (Even in Closed loop Fi), Since oxygen content in air is less and fuel has been compensated for less oxygen. You might have seen many trip-logs here in Xbhp with R15.. If not, just go and check the Touring sectionOriginally posted by ArnabC View Post

Cool. 22k kms on odo and still using SS om mineOriginally posted by Yashas Rl View PostI switched on hearing my friend's experience about FS and I did feel better after switching from Yamalube to Motul. Maybe because of the brand if not the type of oil that made me feel so.
Thanks for correcting my assumption!

but i am using Shell AX7 from 7k kms on odo. its better and costs little less also.

Btw, i still prefer 300V over SS ( Not tried Shell yet ). But Motul SS just gave up after 1500Km in super hot Chennai Traffic :/ Just my opinion

It is perception what makes us feel what oil makes our engine smooth and so on.Originally posted by Ron Syl View PostCool. 22k kms on odo and still using SS om mine

I felt this is good for the range at which I revv and am happy with this!
Will check out details about FS oils by Shell

ArnabC i guess @siddharthsure
gave apt answe to your queries, I could have not done that much justice. And moreover adding to the last query of hill ride , R15 does reads the oxygen ratio at higher altitudes(specially talking about Ladakh), but ECU maps with O2 censors efficiently there. Better to change engine oil and run for 500kms before starting your ascend. And yes you will face frequent power loss, but that will be slightly observable, as amount of hard rev will go bit down and accelaration rate too, this is because after staying for long time at higher altitude in compressed oxygen, AFR ratio will get bit used to lesser oxygen level and so ignition will be not as good as in plains and so loss lower revs and lower power jumps.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
SS Yamalube is actually just Motul 5100 that's been slightly altered as per Yamaha's demands. So it's surely the change in oil that's made your ride better.Originally posted by Yashas Rl View Post----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

300V is only recommended if you're riding at the track and putting your motor under serious strain. I ride my bike really hard and still use Motul 7100.Originally posted by Yashas Rl View PostKnew they that but found difference riding engine with Yamalube SS and 300v of Motul so happy with it

Will give a thought about Motul 7100 for the next change [emoji106]Originally posted by Akash_Kiran _ Balram View Post300V is only recommended if you're riding at the track and putting your motor under serious strain. I ride my bike really hard and still use Motul 7100.

Make sure you get the right grade though.... 20W50 is ideal for the R15.Originally posted by Yashas Rl View PostWill give a thought about Motul 7100 for the next change [emoji106]

. So I guess I don't have to worry about the AFR while in Ladakh.
