    1) Engine oil capacity for R15 V2 and the grade (ex: 10W30)
    2) Planning to use Castrol Power 1. Is this Fine. ?
Bike will run less than 20 kms a week.
    3) What is the cost of paddock Stand (or any alternative DIY).
    4) I am cleaning the chain with kerosene and lubing with used engine oil (used less than 1000 km). Is this OK ?

There is a hissing sound coming from the bike. Not sure from where.

I also require a manual in English. Searched Google but no luck with proper links.

    Rgds,
    Anand
    1) Recemmended grade is 15W50 and it is Semi Synthetic oil.

    2) AFAIK, Castrol Power 1 is Full Synthetic oil. Full Synthetic oil are costly and since you are going to run less than 20kms a week, IMO use mineral oil (more pocket friendly).

    3) Have seen many R15's at the showrroms on paddock stand. Enquire about it at Yamaha showroom.

    4) Avoid kerosene to clean the chain and used engine oil to lube it. Better to buy Motul Chain Cleaner and Motul Chain Lube. Else, you can clean the chain with chain cleaner and use Gear Oil EP90 (cheaper than Motul chain lube) to lube it. But, Gear Oil will splash on to the rims and other areas. So, if you are ok with it use that.

    Cheerz!!

Has any one experimented with frame sliders for the R15?
Moreover, has anyone successfully installed them on the bike?
I was thinking about it cuz the fairing doesnt usually get damaged when you go down (unless it a wreck or a collision)
and replacing the panels just cuz of the scratches doesnt make sense.

I was thinking the same, Replacing the fairings every time just for the sake of scratches doesn't make sense anymore. But I can't digest to see my bike all scratched up. I suppose there must be some protective films in the market that will do the job of protecting the fairings from scratches during a spill.

Frame sliders are not practically possible for R15 2.0. Though there are pics in the internet of R15 having frame sliders installed, they are not worth it. As they have to be fixed on to the bike's engine thus potentially damaging the fairings. Besides frame sliders won't save the fairings from scratches when the bike slides by it's sides on to the tarmac. And also adding the fact that frame sliders are more expensive than the R15's outermost side fairing that usually takes most of the damage.

@ others, I know that there are some kind of protective films, that we can stick on to the bike's fairing to save it from minor scratches. But I'm not sure if they posses the potential to protect the fairings from deep scratches when the bike falls on the road. If anybody knows something about such protective films, please educate me about it. And also is it possible to get the 2013 racing white and blue side fairings from ASC now? As the colour schemes have now changed this year.

              HI..
              everyone...

Got my 1st servicing done, but i still feel my bike runs and sounds weird. Bike runs very rough after 5,000RPM and there seems to be a lot of body vibration. I tried to push it till 110KMPH it got their, but their to much of vibration and the engine feels stressed out.

In 1st Servicing they changed engine oil, lubed chain, added some engine oil and petrol additive and that's it, they never change the engine oil filter. Can someone confirm whether engine oil filter are to be replaced in 1st service.

Really pissed off with kind of service yamaha offers. Can someone please help me out with good authorized service center in delhi. Is delhi scooter near rajouri garden any better ??

no proven frame sliders for r15v2. they will cause more damage to the bike than a fall that causes damage to the fairing. replacing fairings are cheaper than sliders. only the LE, SE bikes face problems with high cost parts.

Can that be the culprit for the engine stress. Will i have to change the engine oil again when they neglected and didn't change the oil filter before

its not negligence. its a optional thing, if you had mentioned them to change it they will change it. i cant comment on the your issues, only a person who is inspecting your bike can say that. and chill your engine is not damaged. the bike will have vibs at certain rpms. minor vibs. if the vibes are near the handle bar then get the nuts n bolts checked.

thank you for your prompt reply bro,
                      really appreciated..

There is no vibs from handle bar, seems to be originating from bottom where the rider sit and from engine bay.

As Ron said, changing oil filters is necessary every time engine oil is changed. Mention that while giving your bike for service.

                          welcome.

they might have not tightened the bolts after cleaning air filter. get them fixed.

Sure RON, will definitely have to pay them a visit. Won't be getting my bike serviced next time there, that i'm sure.

I've checked the site and didn't came across any such protective films that I was mentioning about. May be those kind of protective films I meant, won't withstand a fall or slide of the bike.

During the previous service to my bike, the mechanics there have changed the light setup and now both of the headlamps are turned ON when the bike is at low beam, though I haven't asked them to do any such mods. And due to this the bike recently had a power issue, as I ride in low beam during daytime and forgot to turn OFF the lights while not riding for about 10 minutes and when I tried to start the engine, it didn't crank up.

So is it possible to revert back the changes done to the headlight setup?

Yes surely. Ask them to revert it back as it's not IYM recommended.
