Well my knowledge is that the bike has an high revving engine and my friends at the R15 championship says they change the gears at 12k rpm(ofcourse daytona ECU) and the bike is still running perfectly... One of them has crossed 50k kms recently without any niggles and his riding are 50% race track and 50% city and highway combined....

Recently I am doing a lot of travelling on the highway at night and I feel that the headlights are just not good enough.
So i want to replace them with 55w lamps from OSARM/Phllips but I dont know where to buy them from in Pune and where to get them fixed.
So can someone help me out in this?
I am ready to buy online as well.

Also is there any way to know if the radiator fan is working?
I mean that when the bike was new (before completeing run in) it used to kick in frequently, but know even after riding 27kms on the highway at 100+ kmph, it doesnt kick in...

Contact Pune residents here about the light or check in at a bike accessory shop. They will have it.
Radiator fan works before 1k kms because the engine is very new. It sometimes never work if the engine is in perfect condition even if you go 500kms at 100kmph.

It frequently works if there is any coolant leak, coolant pipe block or if its running out of coolant. In that case , the high temperature icon in the meter should also lit up. So, no worry.

The radiator fan will never kick n if u go at 100kmph speed irrespective of the distance covered, because at that speed a blast of air would be passing through the radiator which is more than enough for it to cool.
And vice versa it would kick in frequently if u go in stop and go traffic.

Dude the message was that when you have a rev limiter kicking in at 10.5K RPM, its better for the engine that you yourself shift just before the rev limiter.
There is no challenging the fact that the engine is rev happy and holds good at higher RPMS

Its annoying to look in the meter rather than concentrating on the road at those high speeds.

You might wana try out the car accessories shops on JM road...If that does not help, hit Nana peth..But I am sure you will get some lead via the JM road shops..

Umm.. Not bad, but not good as well. Under 5K, you should have got atleast 40+ during the run-in. I mean not compulsory, but people have got this figure.

If you are saying, this is due to bumper- bumper traffic, avoid stressing the engine!

You can change the color, but do notify your dealer, if its a small one. What if he orders black, and later you want blue. you might need to wait more as well.

Upto you! Many of us have changed it earlier and dont regret, except for some few bucks spent! By the time you read this, you must have clocked 1000+..

1. I didnt notice it. Infact I feel a second punch at 9000 RPM (may be its only me)

2. I had tried this last time I read this, but I guess it'll be around 115 with a pillion, and ~120 solo (Heavy ass on board

).. (Dont rev at me, I dont remember exactly, but slightly what I can recall)

3.Exactly.. Mine goes to 92 in 3rd.

4. Even R15 can do 125+ solo, but I dont know the effects on the engine!
Hell, my RX does 20- 100 in top gear!

5. Its a short stroke motor! Hence revs quicker. (Thats what I've read)

1. By this time, you must have ridden her a lot.

2. Yes it will.

3. Normal petrol is just fine. The compression ratio is not that huge. Still premium petrol is what many of us prefer here.

Use semi synth. and FS later if you keep her on higher revs, and can afford!

Yamaha expects the riders to be good at riding, and hence some basic stuff is not included in R15. Its OK! After some days, you wont need it! Get used to it bud..

Hey bro got my 1st service done ur right have already clocked 1145 kms which included a nice long trip to dahanu last weekend .. the bike feels butter smooth after the service .. Got the following done on my service from excellent yamaha andheri .
1> Semi Synth oil
2> Oil filter Change
3> Chain Clean and Lube
Totalled around 845
Had a nice time at the service center some lucky owner was about to get his 2012 yamaha r1 which was in the service center for a final check up.. still the sound of the r1 is ringing in my hears ..

.
Overall a nice trip to the service center thanks to the r1 .

FZ tank for ~50.
R15 tail for 12.
FX tail for 15.

FZ logos are a bit bigger than the R15..

I took a couple of S long sweep turns there at 120+ with a pillion!

New bike, you will feel a bit of vibrations. Headlamps is an issue.

Hope you didn't sustain high RPMs is for a long time, as you were still in run-in..
