Yup it sure is a biggg pain for some first couple of times until you get perfectly adjusted to that, I still remember the first time I and my friend went on his R15 to hills for a ride and I wasn unable to wake up the next day morning due to back pain , but as time passed, I now can ride for some distance but still bearing some pain . . .

    Cheers!!!

Well the R15 has sportier riding position than any other in this category, so its gonna be a little uncomfortable at first, but you will get used to it in time. If you still experience too much pain on your wrists and back, you need to take a look at your riding position. Sportsbikes require proper weight distribution in riding position to be not too uncomfortable. Ensure that you are elbows are bent and not straight. Hold/Grip the bike using your knees/thighs not wrists. Lean forward from your hip not the waist, and make sure you are head and torso is in line with the bike and not crossed up or twitchy. Do no put pressure on the wrists/handlebars.

This video may look like an overkill but it gives a general idea of how to sit properly on your sportbike

That's true on the street you will get a lot of unwanted attention. Nothing you can do about it. Play it cool, smile and let them pass.
If you revving hard and wearing riding gear you had better know what you are doing or you may soon find a pack of dogs on your tail. :-D
Its very annoying and frustrating in the beggining but there is a method to the madness. Once ya figure out the other riders, what's going through their heads, their skill level and you start to anticipate their stupidities beforehand and it gets much easier.
There is a scale at work here. When you are newbie the hard core riders won't even bother troubling you, they will just zip past. Then as you start get better on the bike you will getting varying degrees of attention but only upto a point (bell curve). Once you get a "lot" faster (99 percentile) something interesting happens suddenly it gets very quiet nobody wants to race with you anymore, nobody is asking stupid questions about mileage, cost of your bike, aapko jacket mei garmi nahi lagti kya etc. Its almost like zen, only interrupted by occasional car drivers who will like to race you on the straights. Once ya outbrake and out corner them even that stops. Only very rarely will you come across a hard core rider who can ride properly, then its kinda fun racing with them, they are not lunatics they know their limits, the risks involved and how much to push before letting up just as well as you do.

One mistake i see a lot is guys straight-arming the bike. You gotta have a little bend in the arms and support your upper body with your core muscles, use your legs to put weight on the pegs to be light on the seat and not support the upper body with your arms. At crawling speeds there's going to be some weight on your arms for sure but IMO it's not too bad. Once you go over 50-60kmph the wind eases the load on the arms. Its never going to be as comfortable as a commuter bike but its not as bad as full-on sports bike or race bike.

The lights surely are a lot better than the stock, I don't even have to use the high beam, since low beam itself gives good enough lighting.
I'm thinking about getting adjustable or shorty levers for more comfort, anyone know of any place where they sell these? Or has anyone installed them?

@incipient R15 truly attracts a lot more juvenile wannabe posers than any other bike. But off late though, the no. of R15 posers that I have seen has decreased atleast in my locality it has, now more and more kids are riding NS,220 and CBR 150s. If you are on full riding gear, you attract everybody's attention on the road, juvenile or not, and they will race with you no matter even if they are scoots or tvs 50s. Believe it or not, on our return journey from horsley hill a couple of weeks back, a guy on discover 135 was trying to race with us just because we were on full riding gear. We pitied that guy. He didn't even have a helmet.
Great!! But am still against using it on both sides.. Anyway its your bike and did you adjust the beam after fitting NB? I needed to adjust as it had a much wider and longer throw..

usually i am zooming past people, so the attention i see them giving me is for a few seconds, and i dont mind it, or sometimes even like it (a lot of the times chicks seem to be digging the outlook :P)...it's all just for a fraction of seconds or a couple of seconds at best...i usually dont even acknowledge someone riding beside me if from my peripheral vision i see them staring at me like anything, and being inside the helmet gives me the advantage of pretending as if i am not even seeing them...kids in particular seem to get very happy and excited haha, that's a moment that i like and i smile inside my helmet, sometimes i even wave them goodbye

seems like you have had a lot of experiences in this haha...around here not a lot of people have tried to indulge me in a race or even tried to out-maneuver me in heavy traffic...or maybe they have but i am too fast for them to out-maneuver...a few times i see them revving their engine just as they see me, try to overtake me and do all sorts of things, and usually i dont even give them anything to feed...i keep on riding (and maneuvering through traffic) the way i'd have been riding had those show-offs not been there and very soon enough i am well past them and they surrender...sometimes a few of them cause nuisance, going zig-zag too frequently right infront of me even though there's a lot of space on the road for them to speed away, in those times sometimes i have had to voluntarily speed up and out-maneuver from beside them and takes not even a second or two to distance myself too far from them to catch up again on their slow (:P) bikes should they decide to cause nuisance again right infront of me...all this happens very rarely with me (and the fact that i dont go for rides daily adds to the reason of all these occurences being rare), and very rarely has anyone seriously not given up on wanting to race me and indulge me into it, or continued showing off for a long time...i am usually too fast for them i believe, and if i were to actually entertain their racing invitation (which i dont), i believe they'd be left to eat my smoke haha

it's never the same people doing that shit to indulge me into a street race, nor do they know me or see me often (i guess), neither do i see them or know them...so all the experience-derived (:P) stuff you wrote in the second half of your post so far doesnt apply to my case haha...

the fact that most of these people dont even wear a helmet makes me not even want to race them even if the road was all empty..

as for cars trying to race me, happened with me once when i was coming back from that long ride from kanpur 1.5 months ago...some guy on a big SUV (he was a very good driver btw)..since the road was good, wide and more importantly empty all the way, i entertained him..shit kept on going for several kms with loads of him passing me and vice versa but eventually after a few sweeping corners (where i passed him on the outside doing around 110-120 ) he found himself too behind me and couldnt catch up, so i assume he gave up eventually...
today a pulsar 220 rider (with a damn pillion) raced me for several kms in heavy traffic on a semi-broken road even though he must have seen me i was hardly paying any attention to me...he seemed a really good rider (i observed him from behind the way he was maneuvering through traffic) like me, but without a helmet wanting to race me in a heavily traffic-ed broken road, so as usual i didnt indulge in it, even though to be honest i really wanted to, because he seemed equally skilled (albeit a massively irresponsible rider doing that shit in that kind of road)...

same here i almost never see the same guys again. what i meant is that with experience and observation you can generally figure out pretty quickly what kinda rider someone on the road is.

                          Hello,
                          I have a noob question,
K&N Air filter will increase the Intake sound which is why folks get the K&N filter. K&N suggests to remove the Air filter cover for better sound.
                          Now,
I need to join a rally and i want that Intake sound which feels good untill it bothers to engine just for 1 day,

                          The main question is,
If i remove air filter cover, which air filter will keep my engine safe just for 1 day that too the place where i will join that rally is quite good and clean.......(K&N or Stock Filter)

If stock filter does its job good, then why do people buy K&N.

Its just for 1 day, i will never use it for regular use coz i want my R15s engine to be always happy untill i have it.

Does removing cover makes any difference in performance, is there any problem like leaner micture and all?

For one day.. Just remove the top cover of air filter box and keep the air filter stock. You will have the loud sound you need and it can filter as much dust as it can.. Just ensure that, the air filter wont pop out of the box while riding ( i mean secure it somehow after removing top cover )
But limit this just for a day and after returning, clean it with pressurised air and then close the air filter box.
Dont buy K&N for one day and waste your money..

Guys I was wondering if I can fit a CBR 250 r's rr unit to my r15 v1. I'm planning for coil rewinding to run 2X55 watt halo simultaneously so was thinking of sourcing r125's rr unit. But today I saw that even the CBR's rr unit's plug matches exactly with r15's plug. So was thinking if I rewind the coil and fit in a CBR's rr unit, that should work as CBR 250 r has got a soliD charging, which means it's RR unit can easily pump upto 20 amps. What do you guys suggest???

Listen rr is not the issue its rewinding the coil thats the issue as the poles are too closely placed any simple electrician can't do it solidly to create a good flux so as the output remains high...another thing is that the wiring harness from the coil to rr may need an upgrade as the high current will burn through the wires easily
