Had been to BW SVC today to solve that handling and bike stability (wobbling at high speed) issue. had thought its got to do with wheel alignments and coneset thingi. found out it was a little lose screw at steering . lol. now bike seems fine. still under testing for the next 2 days. the hard gear shifts is also solved.
Moral of the story: any issue you face, please make sure you visit the SVC asap

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
i clearly mentioned "found out it was a little lose screw at steering" , that was the problem. not exactly at 70 or 80. i felt it mostly during braking, going at higher speeds (more then 20 or 30) , taking curves.Originally posted by Ivin View PostHandle Wobble above say 70kmph or maybe 80 ? I know the screw was the problem, but I asked whether its only at above certain limits. Hmm.. Now I wonder what my problem is.Originally posted by Ron Syl View Posti clearly mentioned "found out it was a little lose screw at steering" , that was the problem. not exactly at 70 or 80. i felt it mostly during braking, going at higher speeds (more then 20 or 30) , taking curves.Ride, ride and ride.. no nothing related to certain limits. BTW wats the issue you are facing? sometimes the wobble happens due to road irregularities. ride another bike on the same road at same speed and check.Originally posted by Ivin View PostI know the screw was the problem, but I asked whether its only at above certain limits. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Checked on different roads, tried different R15's too, at above 75kmph , handle wobbles too much, if I take my hand off the handle, one can clearly witness how worse it is. Wheel bearings are ok, cone set ok, not bend on the alloys, perfect air pressure. At lower speeds, everything is perfect, and svc says they cant go above 80kmph to check it. To their eyes, everything is normal.Originally posted by Ron Syl View Postno nothing related to certain limits. forks? wheels? seating posture? is the handle bar lose? any irregularities in tyre? cross winds? loads of things you have to still checkOriginally posted by Ivin View PostChecked on different roads, tried different R15's too, at above 75kmph , handle wobbles too much, if I take my hand off the handle, one can clearly witness how worse it is. Can you give the pic of the screw?? Just to check mine, though mine rides perfect. Will be useful go futureOriginally posted by Ron Syl View Postforks? wheels? seating posture? is the handle bar lose? any irregularities in tyre? cross winds? loads of things you have to still check
And you are fortunate to have a good SVC at bangalore. Here go Chennai, they just don't care. They'll just tell some stupid reason and make you believe. Sad

The forks and tyre is the only thing left to check.Originally posted by Ron Syl View Postforks? wheels? seating posture? is the handle bar lose? any irregularities in tyre? cross winds? loads of things you have to still check

true story :xOriginally posted by siddharthsure View PostAnd you are fortunate to have a good SVC at bangalore. Here go Chennai, they just don't care. They'll just tell some stupid reason and make you believe. Sad
at least in chennai you have multiple SVCs to take your bike to (even if they all are slacky). in my place there's just one. that's one of the reasons i am slowly learning to go DIY for most of the basic stuff.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Guys, there some info i wanna share from my observation.
Gear shifts:
you feel your gear shifts are hard? there are two things there.
1. is the gear lever hard to shift?
2. the gear lever is fine but the gear shifts inside are hard (they do khat sound ) and it gets stuck at neutral more often.
if you facing the 1st one then no need to worry as long as the shifts inside are smooth.
if its 2nd then check your clutch play and its setting. check the if the chain is lubed properly.
Tyre pressure: if you are not checking the tyre pressure often then its a bad practice. please keep the tyre pressure under check every 4th day. these are tubeless tyres. they lose air more then the tube ones. this will even effect your bike stability while riding.
BTW i had been to bank during lunch break, while coming back i was behind a activa and it was behind a auto. it as a slow moving traffic. i thought of overtaking the activa from right, was going at very low speed (about 5kmph i guess), accelerated n went little to right but the auto guy braked suddenly n the activa guy did the same. realizing that i will hit the activa guy i did panic braking n my handle turned to right and since i had picked up little pace i skid and fell to the left. i jumped and fell on my left with my hips n knee first n then my back. my back was saved by my bag and my jacket saved my upper body. sadly i have a bruise on the knee n hips. very minor. but in little pain. all this happened ina span of 3 to 4 secs. so sad soul came to help, the activa guy stopped to look what happened and i suddenly realized all were looking at me with the traffic coming to halt. got up, picked the bike at 1 go and saw RVM broken in half, felt disgusted, went to the side n parked. i didnt bother to look at others too. one guy was good enough to get me the broken piece of the RVM . check for handle bend. it was good. saw the clutch bar, scratched but not broken, was happy. checked the forks by applying brake standing still, didnt get any weird sound. so happy. but while taking turn near office i realized bike was going right after applying form brake. need to test it again while going home. sad part is i had just got the bike made proper. i hope there is no fork bend.

Ron Syl sad bro
take care and fix her asap. Also your clutch lever is bent
And all.. Any reasons for footpeg vibes??? Other than chain lube and wheel alignment?? Though my wheel alignment is off by 1 point and going to fix it this sat. Any other reason apart from this?? Engine oil is brand newLast edited by siddharthsure; 09-04-2013, 06:37 PM.Its better to sweat than bleed!! "AGATT "
