Woo!!! Good to see all back again
Eshan-P180 it depends on road also. If the road is rough( stones visible in tar) you may feel it tight. Experienced it many times. Next time when you feel it,check the road. Can be other problem also, but check this first.

Btw anyone using injector cleaner like system-g or anyother?? Does premium petrol contain any additives to aid cleaning? Filled my tank with shell super unleaded today and I can feel a noticeable difference in pick up and smoothness.. Note: My bike runs on normal shell petrol from day 1

yeah yeah of course..there's all kinds of uncontrollable and/or unpredictable external and internal conditions at play that affect these things.
yes, my bike is about 1145 kms old now.

i guess i fall more towards the ripping kind..the first 450 kms or so, i was soft on my bike, as the manual said not to run over 5000 RPM prolongedly and not to rev or anything like that for the first 500 kms...then after that i slowly started revving it to 7500 but not always..did a few hard accelerations, ran at 90-105 kmph a lot and even went to 110 or so once or twice for short periods of time..then ever since the first service got done 250 kms ago, i have pretty much revved it any which way i've wanted..it's hard not to rev it when the mind wants to rev any reasonable chance it gets and bike likes being revved as well

totalled your first R15 v2 and then got a second-hand one ? :P

Can you tell me how to start with this? I did try looking at my rims sometime back. I didn't see any gaps between where my tires and rims contact each other
Anything else needs to be checked??
I am not sure how much i can help you on this. First check for visible deep cuts on the tyres. then cracks on the rims. look very carefully. not sure what else i can suggest to check for it.

well, accidents still happen...i meant that, not careless handling of the bike

i'd literally cry right then and there if my bike gets stolen or wrecked or even half-damaged

Hi,

Did any one change the Tyres, both Front and Rear? If so please let me know the Prize and the time take by the Showroom to fix it? and any suggested location in Bangalore to make it done.

Front costs ~2.2k and rear ~3.3k. Go to a Tyre shop to get it done instantly, although no center stand could be a problem.

Ron Syl,

From what i gather, you are an active member of an R15 biker group and you get to meet and talk to other R15 owners.

Have you come across any other instance(s) of an R15 being stolen?

Also, do you take any extra precautions with the new bike?

Rode my bike last night after a while. The ride lasted a good 2kms (yes, you read that right). Humbled.
Its amazing how people who've seen me ride this bike hundreds of times before still do not fail to stare in awe.

Question: How much free play does your bike have in the y axis?

I have been facing this rather peculiar problem. The engine started making this TIK TIK sound continuously. A TIK every 2 seconds
Odo : 500 kms and it's just a month old

Not a r15 biker group but all yamahas.

BTW my bike was stolen on 2aug2012 after 2 months saquibs was stolen and got it back after a month i guess later another guys r15v2 was stolen around jan. so i have come across many instances. bikes were stolen when parked outside the house. better park it inside.

the only precaution i take is the xena lock. saquib also the same. lesson llearnt after bike got stolen.

vertical you mean? in that case there should be around + and - 0.5mm free play. thats approx value i think.

does it happen after you switch off the bike? if YES, then its not a PROBLEM. its the engine cooling down. IF its any other case then let us know more about it.

And it started doing this yesterday

I got some prob!! When the bike is off.. If I push my bike and apply rear brake,i hear a THAK sound from rear (i guess its not from brake).. Remember long back I said I used to hear THUD when I go over bumps. Its the same sound. Is it swingarm issue?? But am not hering any sound when I go over bumps now
Someone help... Does everyone hear this??
EDIT: Lifted the rear wheel up and spin it with my hand and braked.. I got the same THAK sound and so its not swingarm issue.... Phew!!! And my rear brake calliper is getting super hot after a ride( cant touch for more than 2 sec).. Pads not touching the discs though without braking and i didnt hear any screeching sound when i rotate my rear wheel... Its rotating freely. So whats the problem ??? Its too weird :/
