Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
You might experience an increase in "MENTAL" BHP,so hard revving equals less mileage. But if you commute on highways i don't see reasons for mileage to vary but you might experience drops in mileage in city traffic.Originally posted by vjxm View Post

Its no use, ignore them.I have had war of word with people who insist that they have the new and improved R15 V3.0.I simply ask them to check the yamaha india website.Originally posted by pulsater View Post

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I have my pulsar under geared which helps in riding around the city. Revs pick up quickly and the engine doesn't lug when moving around in traffic in top gear. But the top speed will be affected.Originally posted by vjxm View PostWhat will be the effect of under-gearing on mileage.Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hello fellow xbhpians,
Been a while since I have been looking for new set of headlight bulbs for my R15.
Was looking for 35W/35W with White light emission. Narrowed down to a new range by philips.
Can anyone please specify the type of headlight bulbs used in R15?
HS1
M5
The above are the ones I have come across on philips website.
Accordingly, which one of the following would be suitable?
Thanks

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Yes you can.. But I dont think its worth the upgrade. You can try Osram Night Breaker/ Philips Extreme Vision 55W Bulbs. Both are fantastic bulbs and really a good upgrade over stock. And HS1 and H4 are same. Both can be fitted on R15 without any mods.Originally posted by rishi1994 View PostHello fellow xbhpians,

PS: 55W Bulbs may drain the battery if you turn it on without the engine running. And R15 battery can withstand only 1 55W bulb. So other should be 35W and use high beam only on highways because they draw (55+35W). Am using Osram Night Breaker 55W on low beam(LHS) and stock on highbeam(RHS).Its better to sweat than bleed!! Thank you so much Sir. I will also look into the 55W bulb setup as you mentioned.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostYes you can.. But I dont think its worth the upgrade. Would actually be more useful and a less expensive mod.
Sir, I have been looking into the manual, but unable to find description of 5W+5W pilot lamps/ auxiliary lamp connectors. Can you please tell me which ones are they (connector Type like H4/HS1) as you mentioned?

They are wedge type bulbs... If you want led for pilot lamps, search "Wedge led" in ebay you'll get results.Originally posted by rishi1994 View PostThank you so much Sir. I will also look into the 55W bulb setup as you mentioned.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Sir, is there any DIY on changing the pilot bulbs, I've searched for long hours but could not find anything in changing the pilot bulbs. If there is an existing thread, could you be so kind and direct me to it. else could you teach me how to replace them at home. Thanks in advance.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostThey are wedge type bulbs... Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
The following is a classic issue.
Whenever I take both hands off my handlebars, the bike instantly pulls to the right. But the SVC guys keep saying that my bike is completely fine. It's not in my head either, cause the bike just keeps doing that all the time and I have to lean to my left to track the bike straight. What could have gone wrong?

Its the easiest thing to do...Originally posted by Ankey View PostSir, is there any DIY on changing the pilot bulbs, I've searched for long hours but could not find anything in changing the pilot bulbs. Just pull the circled rubber part with your hand and you'll find pilot lamp with its holder.. Pull it out with holder and you can replace the lamp just by pulling it out of the holder. Its wedge type lamp BTW. So any wedge type led will fit in (Make sure its not wider than the hole in reflector )..

just one more query, where can i find colored bulbs, online or local shops??
And as the bike is just 10 months old, will the change of bulb void the warranty??I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Changing bulbs wont void your warranty unless you mess with the wiring.. Search in ebay as "Wedge LED" ( Add color of your choice with this ), you'll find many of themOriginally posted by Ankey View PostThanks for the quick reply bro,

SMD represents no of led semiconductors. So if it says 5 SMD it has 5 and its brighter than 3 SMD.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Was parking my bike today when I noticed this![emoji29] I believe that it's due to the daily riding with a pillion to college where the bag keeps banging every time I apply the brakes. Been like this from the 2nd day and its now exactly a year and one day. So I guess no more pillions hereafter. Any idea regarding the cost of replacing that center part alone? Anyone had any similar issue? Damn[emoji20]

Check for bent handle bar, oil leaking from fork.Originally posted by Andy_kristine View PostThe following is a classic issue.
