Completed 10K and some points after this experience

    - Do not ride the bike on low fuel and park at exposure to direct sunlight
Your fuel pump might go kaput, which is hell costly and might not be available as well.

    - Slow down on potholes and nasty speed breakers, your rim might bend and again causing a big hole in your pocket

    - Get the yammy guys to do a foundation and you can tighten up the fairing at your home. for all those vibration issues.

    - Get your battery terminals checked on issues like wierd horn on high beams, engine doesn't start at first go etc.

    - Don;t redline all the time, engine would became harsh.

    - Saddle bags and Tank bag, works fine on the long ride.

    - No issues on wet/no road circumstances, except your back.

    - Believe in your front brake, it saves life.

and Make sure yammy guys setup your idle rpm during service.
    Ride On,
    Akshat

      • The black tank pad with yamaha embossed on it was taking a long time to arrive in stock.. So spiced my ride with this tank pad

P.S. : Red color looks really weird because of the yellow lights in the parking zone
Keep Calm and Kaam se Kaam

Yes, gave it there yesterday. Iam compiling a report below.

          @All
          2nd free service -
          1)Total kms - 2931

          2)Charges - Rs 530 (Rs 470 for oil + Rs 60 for consumables 4 fairing screws)

          3)Problems faced, Problems rectified
a)Front handle bar vibration - Fixed
          b)Front fairing vibration - Fixed
          c)Lower gear lever - Fixed
d)Rear mudguard replacement - Pending (part not available in stock)
          e)Lower right headlight - Fixed

4)I wasn't charged for any sort of tax on oil.

5)Review about Monarch Auto - Tilak Rd

a)Iam in love with the service out there, they do not mind if you wait there and see it getting completed, the customer lounge is perfect, happens in front of you unlike YFS which is in one corner.

b)The service was quite quick, got the bike back by 12.30pm

c)I had my friend's Ninja for sometime so I left for my bank work once they finished the oil change, so the main job was done.

d)No he dint change the oil filter as it was due next service.

e)I felt the bike very smooth after the servicing, i think they cleaned the air filter this time. It was super smooth, this is my 4th bike so i precisely know how does it feel the filter has been cleaned.

f)The charges for chain clean and lube are Rs 60+60+no tax = Rs 120 against YFS Rs 100+100+Tax - odd Rs 235

g)Their inventory is bit poor, but yes you can get any part in a day's time for sure.

h)Got the bike polished including dashboard and tires free or you can say in servicing itself, YFS said Rs100 for that the last time

          i) No queue at all even on weekends, Next building Trust Vishwas has his office so you can always meet him for morning coffee.

          j) They have radio working on the main working floor where bikes are serviced, so i believe it to be chilled out working atmosphere for engineers out there.

Thats all from my side, the bike is actually smooth and can feel the difference too. Got everything done quickly and it was a transparent procedure though i was busy riding the Ninja, i mean i could feel the bike with a difference.

@Pune Yammie owners, i would definately consider this to be better service than YFS, atleast it felt like that yesterday. Next service on 6000kms.

I also happen to stumble upon Nesan who is from ROLON Chains, got his number, if you have any requirements in regards to chain sprocket kit, he is the guy. He can also schedule parts if you are out of pune and in other city or state.

          Nesan - 9850793468

glad you liked the service at Monarch Yamaha, just give my reference at the supervisor Ashish Moghe he is the best for all your issues

              @ all

Iam putting up my weekly maintenance schedule for the bike, i do it over the weekend, have been doing it for past 3 bikes, 2 of them with chain drive as final transmission.

Tools used - (Iam putting it through the procedure wise)
              1) WD40 - Rs 250 - 400ml
              2) Motomax Shampoo - Rs 50 - 100ml
              3) Motomax Liquid Polish - Rs 60(odd) -100ml
              4) Motomax 2k Rubbing Compound - Rs 50 - 50ml (For scratches only)
              5) Motomax Dashboard Polish - Rs 90 - 100ml
              6) Oks Chain Spray - Rs 260 - 500ml

              Procedure

              1) Spray WD-40 on chain, make sure you spray it directly, you will observer that dirt starts dripping as it is a strong degreaser. Make sure the bike is on paddock stand as it requires continuous motion to penetrate deep inside the chain. If you do not have a paddock stand, do not worry. Get hold of a friend who can tilt the bike one side and then you can spray it with ease.

TIP - Its a chain degreaser so use it first before washing so that once the dirt is gone a pressurized spray will remove the left over WD40 also or else when you lube it it will immediately degrease it within seconds.

              2) Now the chain is clean, head for washing. I do not have a pressurized pump or motor for washing. A bucket full of water and a clean cloth is enough for me. 1 and half bucket of water, make the bike completely wet, then add the shampoo and wipe it clean. Make sure the cloth has enough foam to remove mud from panels and parts. Make good foam and wipe the panels properly, once done rinse the bike completely.

              3) Once the bike has dried, do not keep it under sunlight, make sure you have another dry cloth to wipe it dry. Once dried apply the polish, use a soft sponge which can help in damping the panels. DO not, I Repeat do not apply polish when the bike is wet. Till then you can let the washing cloth dry in sun. Now its buffed up but not wiped with dry cloth so let it be that way, it needs to dry up, no sunlight either.

              4) Apply Oks Chain spray till the polish dries. Make sure you perform this step with the use of paddock stand or with the help of a friend. Do not try to do it on your own by tilting the bike one side, your hand might get caught in the sprocket or the wheel, then forget everything, yes even pleasuring your self . Now let the chain spray dry, with the application of chain spray the polish that you have applied in step 3 would have been dried up completely. Now wipe it off with the use of dry and clean cloth. Make sure headlights are covered too.

              5) Apply the 2k rubbing compound if you see any minor scratches, apply it in circular pattern and once dried wipe it off.

              6) Apply dashboard polish to the head console and those black panels which are surrounding the display unit. Cover mudguard, that fake carbon fiber side panels and mirrors (black rear side)

              Difference after washing and lubing-

              1) Paint has that glow which shows showroom finish.
              2) Smooth gear shifts since the chain is cleaned and lubed in right manner.
              3) Chain sprocket kit has longer life (Discover chain sprocket kit changed at 28,000kms and Pulsar - 33,000kms). Our R15 is freaking costly so might as well do it this way.
              4) Lubing of minor parts is done too like clutch handle lever, gear levers, brake levers.

              WARNING
              1) Do not brush or spray water directly on the radiator.
              2) Do not apply polish when the bike panels are wet.
              3) Do not wipe off polish with a wet cloth, always use new, dry and clean cloth.
              4) Always have a friend who can help in lubing and cleaning of chain if you do not posses a paddock stand.
              5) Do not dry or wash your bike in directly sunlight, washing okay not for long but a serious no for polishing it in direct sunlight.
              6) Radiator cleaning should be done at SVC only, they have the right tools.

All the products are easily available in automobile shops, if not then check in shell petrol pumps they stock MotoMax products. This is affordable for me and gives me the perfect shine, yet there are products in the market which might actually glow in dark types but iam satisfied with the output and cost spent on these products.

Attaching a pic of the products i use, Sorry for the quality since its taken on my cellphone.
If you have any doubts feel free to ask.

All these products last for 6months odd. Total time taking not more than an hour.

one can but any chain cleaner with the specified grade..
OKs Chain spray, one can get it from a service center(if not yamaha then from TVS or bajaj SVC).

as far a lubing the chain is concerned, ideally lubing should be done after 7 days or 500 km.. which ever early.. and in monsoon even earlier due to dirt accumulation.
oiling has its benefits also other than smooth gearshits... it also protects the chain and sprocket from wear. so they last longer.
since for some its not possible to lube the chain weekly so atleast one can do it alternate weekend..
                  running a 220
18000 Km i 11 months and still running

Get it from Probiker, yes he has sealed ones or go to the shops besides grahak peth they do stock OKS.
WD40 - you will get it in any furniture shop, or go to Life Cycle mart on Tilak Rd in front of TATA showroom.

                    TIP-
There would be a counter product to Wd40 which is Zorrick, please do not buy this product, It is okay if you are carpenter and require it, they will also tell you bhai same hai and chalta hai, pure waste of money. Go for Wd40 only.

For the bold in both posts, I repeat, please do not lube it according to days or kilometers. Here is an Example why not -

Monday - You lube it early morning, you ride to work, park, heavy rainfall lube goes off, now what? wait for 8th day or 500kms on the odo.

My suggestion, Lube it only when you need to, see the chain, I had mentioned this in my last page post, touch it by your finger see if it is still wet or dry. Then lube it.

                    Tip-
Do not buy OKS from Bajaj, they sell 100ml cans which are Rs 90, turns out to be costly.

                    * I have also used TVS chain spray, that thing drips and wets the chain like a woman on her first marriage night. Kindly avoid that.

Why not a heavy wet chain? Just when you speed up say above 20kmph rotation of wheel gains speed, in no time the lube sprayed on the chain gets splattered over the spokes and wheel. Try taking a left turn and i'll meet you in the hospital, I promise to bring a Print Screen of this post.

Tip- Try to lube the chain before sleeping, let it stay that way atleast for a night. Minimum req is of 3-4 hours atleast.

Well there is a work around to this problem too, use YamaLube chain Spray, its dry, hard as wax within 10minutes. Cost Rs 1400 for 450ml. Yes, that silver thingy you see on chains after servicing, easy available at Yamaha Authorized SVC

                    Choice is yours.

                        Choice is yours.

by the 7 day 500 km i ment in a dry no rain climate... i have to do it coz i ride 70-80 km daily ... including sundays to the G2G's so i have to...
and yes i lub it and let it settle for atlest 4-hrs so mostly during nights...

and i concur with your techniques for checking the lube of the chain but this is for those who dont ride so much... but it do as a prevention so within 2 weeks i lube it
+ gearshits and chain noise at low speeds is the indication for lubing

                          • @ Eshan and Omid. The chain is not at all dirty and also I can see some kind of coating wax/oil kinda thing. So it's perfectly allright, right?

To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.
Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

Yup...All okay. It should be sticky, you should feel the wetness of lubrication. Helps in avoiding damage to links and sprockets.
