  • Congratulations to all new members for their ride.

I checked the FE given, most of my riding is highway based since my office and home are enroute NH4. You can sum it to be 70% Highway and 30%City.

Tank full to Reserver to Tankfull = 44.87kmpl.

I ride fast but not quick, hope you get the difference. Maintaining speeds up to 80-90kmph only, yes short blasts are there but not more than 110kmph, that also for some seconds only. She breathes good around 6 to 7k RPM.

    • I bought a keiti carbon (black) tank pad for my babe. It matches the carbon fibre finish panels on the bike. I was confused whether to go for a clear tank pand or the black carbon fibre.. got it from DSG Planet. Looks super cool.
Regarding my riding experience in 2 months. (exact 2 months today)
Frankly speaking. I will run out of adjectives to describe out-of-the-world R15's riding/handling/performance.. You just name it and the bike is ever ready to satisfy all your needs at the twist of your wrist! (what a rhyme that was)
Everybody knows this bike is a total attention seeker!! so wont say anyhting on the looks.

Handling: I ahve been to Lavasa more than a couple of times and this bike does all the justice to the Knee-scraping, Rossi-inducing high speed turns. It just tells you to push more and more everytime it leans to kiss the tarmac. Handling in the rains is also great. No actue leaning but still the way this babe holds the ground is excellence in itself.
      10+ / 10 on that

Performance: For a 150cc. Nothing more you can ask for. This bike has never seen a pair tail lights. I can say for sure

Such are the aerodynamics of this bike that unless you look into the console, You'll never come to know at what speeds are you flying

As for the other aspects of this awesome soul, braking, electricals, and what not. Hoplessly in love wit her
Oops!! Forgot the most important thing.. 'Kitna Deti Hai' You just cannot escape this phrase in Incredible India

My weekdays consist of 100% city riding all through KP to chandani chowk, still manage to get FE ~ 47-50.
Open roads I have touched 133 kmph twice. sadly the road decided to end.

Care: Every saturday morning slot. bike wash with Motomax shampoo and then polish with again the motomax bike wax cream. Do it regularly and you'll think the bike just got off from the assembly line!

Short review I may have missed some points
Keep Calm and Kaam se Kaam

To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.

Completely agree with you on this. Has happened to me a lot of times. Riding through the highway, thinking speeds would be like 90 ish, a peek at the speedo and wow... its 125kmph...

@Eshan-P180 Could you give me the location for Monarch Yamaha?

If you come from the Alka talkies direction. Keep going straight. once you cross the dell/HP/Sony showroom.. after about 600m you get a signal crossing, Monarch Yamaha will be on the diagonally opposite side(right side corner).. When you planning to give your ride for servicing ?

Hey guys, I'm going to Mumbai this weekend, will be riding solo... So would like some inputs on the road condition and checklist for the bike.!

Yep thats correct right there on that intersection.

That's good you are taking your steed. Use bungee cords for keeping your luggage on the rear seat, if you have a tank bag well and good. If you are just taking your sack then expect bit pain if the luggage is too much. For this use bungee cords to attach the sack on the rear seat. I have uploaded pics where you can hook it without any problem.

Thats for the luggage, rest the bike is fine and would surely accompany you till the end. Dont race or go till your limits as rains are here and you shouldnt. Cruise with ease and shall do the work, keep accurate pressure in the tires. This is not like any other bike where 4-5 psi extra or less chalta hai. It will hit you hard and will affect your future marriage and might create problems too. :P

            Have we met before?

                    Hey Eshan,

If I'm not wrong, isn't oil filter to be changed at every service/oil change?

                      Hi Shreyas

No, not required. I was told that every alternate servicing will incorporate of oil filter change. Also, if you are using FS Oil then
                      For Eg
                      1St - Oil change + Oil Filter change -3,000kms
                      2nd - No Oil + No Oil Filter change - 6,00kms
                      3rd - No Oil + No Oil Filter change - 9,000kms
                      4th - Oil Change + Oil Filter Change - 12,000 kms

You get advantage of 9,000kms for Fully Synthetic oil costingRs875 or Rs 950. But yes, top ups might be required (charged). I do not use this cz its I prefer changing the oil at every service.

                      For Regular servicing SS Oil

                      1St - Oil Change + Oil Filter change - 3,000kms
                      2nd - Oil Change only - 6,000kms
                      3rd Oil Change + Oil Filter change - 9,000kms

It might be costly but i like to keep it this way.

                      TIP-
Whenever oil filter has to be changed there will always be a bill of oil change too. When you open the filter chamber oil oozes out quickly. So if a SVC has changed only the filter and not the oil, go and punch that guy in face.

                      • Have got some questions here:
1.How should the care of drive chain should be taken if you are riding daily in the rains which results in washing away of the oil?

2.The left eye of my bike showed the presence of fog today at its tip, where the two lamps meet.Fog appeared after I cleaned the headlamp with a moist cloth. I must add that there is a panel gap between the left lamp[again at the point where the two lamps meet or say it the 'nose'], which is more than the right.

3.Should I get this panel gap checked? Its a minor one, one can appreciate it only at a certain angle..

4.A Pune based company is offering 'paint protection'. I did it on my TVS Wego for some 200 rs.They claim it protects the paint from scratches.Good results on the scooter till date. For the R15 they are asking Rs.500. HAs anybosy done this?

5.The problem of false neutral pops up its head occasionally.Probably its just me because I sometimes shift gears clumsily , not with a firm movement. Is it the bike or me then?

                          1) Do not lube it regularly, do it only when you see dryness. Rub you finger over the joints, is it dark and dry or is it bit wet? if dry then lube it. Make sure you clean the chain too, lubing it over and over without cleaning will result in much and grains to damage the components. Clean it too, you may use WD40 for cleaning (ensure to wash the bike after WD40 has been used, do this on Saturday, one week is enough for cleaning and for it to get dirty again).

2)Check for gaps or even loose fitting, at times the glass might become foggy when there has been a temperature change due to gaps in panels because of loose screws or broken glass when temperature drops.

3)If its causing any sort of hindrance in your riding then yes, get it checked.

That also lasts for some X kilometers.

No, i havent done that paint protection scheme.

False neutrals can be rectified, I think you are facing from Gear 1 to 2

Error - Human - You do not shift it properly.

Rectification - Go to SVC, tell them I need the lever to be lowered according to your foot diameter, yes this option is there. Lower it so that you can grip it when shifting upwards.

Iam 6 feet tall, i had to remove my left leg out for shifting upwards, two mins job got it done and no more false neutrals, and dont treat it so delicate, i know you are and thats why the false neutrals, she can take much more pressure than that.
