So that made 6K within 5 months without any such long distance covering

Actually i was told from the svc that the oil filter needs to be changed in every alternate service. So I've got it changed in 1st and 3rd. But I would change it every service from now on.
I was told that too...But changed oil filter makes her incredibly smooth.I wonder would cleaning the air filter would make her lot more smoother.Or is the air filter cleaned as a rule in svc?

Thanks for the info. I have opened the rider seat multiple times but have failed to locate the battery

          Indeed bro...it's much smoother
Actually in most of the cases the SVCs dont have R15 filter handy, so they give away by saying you need to change in alternate service.
But they change the filter for FZ on every servicing.
Between, cleaning air filter should be included as a part of servicing.

Sorry about the part no. I forgot it. Just mail Yamaha, they will tell you the part number. Its known as Engine kit.

And you wont get it for 14,500. You will have to buy the complete engine kit for 29.5k. The price was 35k+ some months ago, price was decreased 2 months ago I think..

CR tune is achieved via the Head tune and not the Piston. You can tune your current R15 to run on 13:1 CR with the stock piston.

How and where will you shove the Ninja's 62MM? and how about the piston pin and rings? coz the crank con rod position depends on the piston pin's accuracy. Remember R15 has a Diasil cylinder, its one mold. There is no bore-sleeve in it, you cannot rebore the R15 block at any cost.

So getting all this correct is quite impossible and if you are able to fit a 62MM Piston on R15 then your ride becomes 180CC.

First of all congrats bro. Straight to the point, here's the list though not order of importance.
                      1. odo reading - though doesnt make much difference but still
                      2. look for any scratches and discoloration. If there are any, deny to take delivery til they fix it n give them a piece of your mind.!
                      3. check the headlights, brake light, indicators, horn.. check all with different combinations. may happen that on high beam with indicator ON, the horn may sound like 'soar throat guy singing' (if and only if there is some glitch in the battery) Check them.
                      4. Tires - Just to be sure
                      5. check the pillion under- seat for tool-kit and First-aid kit
                      6. ask the person to show you the coolant level, engine oil level, brake fluid level (front n rear)
                      7. also very important check for the twitch sound of the ffront forks which many have been experiencing. That should not be there.

Riders, if I have left something.. do post. !
Keep Calm and Kaam se Kaam

To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.
Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

                      • Congrats to all new members out there.. You are gonna love the bike, trust me on this.

                        Moving on-

Scheduled the 2nd service tomorrow @ Monarch Auto Tilak Rd.

                        Tip for Pune Members
                        1) If you plan to get your servicing done, you need to take appointment, it is not like YFS or J Williams SVC where you can drop the bike directly.

                        2) The Mech said, if you need the bike in 2hrs flat, you need to pay Rs100 (even if its free service) or expect the bike to be delivered by 4pm. Now, I'm not sure why are they charging that Rs100 extra, its a rip off or else suffer till 4pm.

                        @ others

Facing a small problem - Whenever I ride, there is heavy numbness within minutes of riding and on its only on my left hand, any idea?
Fingers actually go numb and start paining like hell, if i wear my glove, God save me, the entire left arm starts aching. Does any one know why is this? Those bar weights are bit loose, is that the culprit or something else.

Also, my last query hasnt been answered yet.

I have couple of questions in regards to Air Filter, please sort out as i actually do not know which one is used.

                        1) Type
                        2) How is it cleaned? I havent seen it in first service being cleaned or anything Please elaborate.
                        3) Stamina or when to replace
                        4) Reusable after cleaning
                        5) Cost

yes i am running on sleeve with 60mm piston, so its 165 cc. cyl can be rebored but carefully. i am concerned about valve clash. and CR can also be varied by piston design.

                              Here you go..

                              1) Type - Dry
                              2) How is it cleaned? I havent seen it in first service being cleaned or anything Please elaborate. -
There is a check hose at the bottom of the air filter case (close to the mono shock - the protruding thing with a transparent kinda cover). If dust and/or water collects in this hose, air filter is to be cleaned. The manual talks of applying compressed air on the outer surface of the filter to clean it.
                              3) Stamina or when to replace -
Every 10,000 kms or when damanged, whichever is earlier.
                              4) Reusable after cleaning -
                              Yes, covered in 2 above
                              5) Cost - Rs. 240

No, its normal. But yes do conduct a small test which I have stated couple of pages back.
