Well they are not some Alpinestar or Fox, but they are really really nice..
Never felt they were uncomfortable. Very nice. Pure VFM..
Hey Raneet, I am also from Kolkata, where you get those knee guards & for how much (must be from Wellington I guess
), asked you coz may be going there this saturday to get a helmet after servicing my bike from Baguiati. I will get some safety gears soon (when my pocket permits
).
Sorry guys for the off-topic.

sounds good ,but in theory.Originally posted by Raneet View PostDo you or have you ever used an Iridium? If you did then your statement seems to contradictory. I agree doesn't make a huge difference but it does make a considerable difference. Iridium is a metal that can sustain much more heat compared to normal spark plugs, that's why normal spark plugs last somewhere around 15-20k kms where as Iridiums last close to 50k kms. Also the density of spark fire in Iridium is much better compared to normal spark plugs so better fuel burning, better combustion, better performance. Simple science..
If your ignition system is in good shape(wires, coils) I don't think a plug will make a noticeable difference in fe. Platinum and Iridium plugs are mainly there because they last longer, not because of higher performance.and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

Going to take delivery of my Blue R15 tomorrow.
I have this nagging doubt in my mind though that the showroom guys might try to pass off their test-drive bike to me as a new vehicle, can you please tell what do I need to check/keep an eye on to prevent this.Yamaha R15 V2.0 (2012)

No not Wellington, but B.P.Roadies (close to Khanna Cinema Hall if coming from South and close to Phoriapukur if coming from North). Costed me 1.5k. Also I would suggest try B.P.Roadies once before checking Wellington for helmets. He has some real good stock.Originally posted by Abhisek View PostHey Raneet, I am also from Kolkata, where you get those knee guards & for how much (must be from Wellington I guess

Do not want to argue with you. I know the theories and I can feel it practically also. Take care, ride safe.Originally posted by sayank10 View Postsounds good ,but in theory.

Chances that they will do like that are negligible. If you really do want peace of mind before taking the delivery, check the the KMs covered on the ODO. Vehicles which are to be delivered will have only a couple of KMs covered at the most.
Congrats on your new purchase, and advanced welcome to the R-family

Anyways I posted the above as when I went to the dealership today - their attitude wasn't exactly what I had expected.
Any other methods to check, 'cos Odometer tampering isn't really a new concept...Yamaha R15 V2.0 (2012)

I love the things happening here. we are mostly owners of R15 V2 discussing things here and very often i see newbees joining in and telling that they booked or got the bike
the other day i saw cbr150 thread n almost more then 70% of it was filled with non ownership posts n things. and happy that many do consider R15V2
sorry for being little OT here, dont sue me for this please
if this is post offends anyone then i will delete it.

Yeah, keep the thread clean. Dont worry about that, i report the post if i find it to be in comparing with the other bike or something, but yes if someone wants to select then of-course we can be of good help.Originally posted by Ron Syl View PostI love the things happening here. we are mostly owners of R15 V2 discussing things here and very often i see newbees joining in and telling that they booked or got the bike

@ New Members please bombard us with pics and first ride information, feel free to ask doubts.
@all - Last week i had conducted a small poll here in regards to front fork problem, last i think was Yes-9, No-0 or 1.
I think the problem is normal and not a problem anymore. As in, it is okay if they are sounding that way, completely fine. No need to worry on that, As a precautionary measure please conduct this small test when you have free time and daylight is available.
Check the front forks -
1) Check if there are any scratches, mind you not those type which have carving type structure, check if there smooth rubbed type scratches, something like brushed metal effect ones.
2) Why in daylight - they will shine with bit of golden color in them...All chrome right, somewhere goldenish color with brushed metal type effect.
If such type of marks are there then please head to SVC and get the inner tubes replaced, they are bent. Expect fork oil seal to go kaput in few kms and not days, this is the first symptom.
They should replace it in warranty at any cost, if not, call up customer care.
Still they don't agree then -
1) Pay for new part and get it replaced, the more you ride on bent forks the more damage to chassis, your arms, disc brakes, stability, eventually ending with danger.
or
2) Head to welding shop, they will have the bench-press machine, this is how they straighten out bent fork tubes. This will be relatively cheap compared to first alternative. Pressure is applied to the tubes in straight line, MM of curvature is rectified in this process, so expect them to be new at the end of the procedure.
We are taking about silver tubes the inner ones.Last edited by Eshan-P180; 07-25-2012, 05:12 PM.sigpic

Hi all!!
This is my first post on Xbhp.
I've been an avid reader of this forum and your experiences and reviews helped me entirely in going for the Baby R..
Got my babe on 30th May. Almost a couple of months, 2000Km on the odo and very first servicing. I'm thoroughly satisfied by my babe. Every day brings new surprises new challenges. Every single time I swing a leg over the saddle, an altogether different kind of adrenaline rush gushes out of me.
Thanks everyone for your help!
Cheers.
Keep Calm and Kaam se Kaam
