Try only 300v man ,the sudden change in engine grunt ,peppy throttle gives you pseudo satisfaction of increase of 1-2bhp in power.

Well, price of Shell AX7 attracted me. Plus, I want to try something new other than Yamalube SS. What's the cost of Motul 300V? And drain interval?

Is 300v so good ?

If I may suggest something. Please stay away from shell. It's 10 w 40 that means going below manufacturer recommendation. If you were in the mountains I would say go for it considering the temperature range but down on the plains it doesn't make sense to go to 10 w .
Stick to 20 w or 15 w on the lower side.

You can try 10 w . And within few kms into the ride you will see the harshness in engine / gearbox. Long rides will be worse. Engine seems to heat much faster too. These were my experience. I tried it on my v1. But realised it was a mistake and decided to cut losses. Yamalube 20w is any day better than shell 10 w.
But I'll stick to 300v. 15w works well
abdulsheikh007 I personally don't stretch change interval beyond 4500 - 5000 kms. But beyond that you might need to top up a bit regularly depending on riding conditions.

Well it has been 1500kms only and still not even 0.01% sign if fatigue .I'm sure it'll hold up good till 4-4.5 k km.
When you pay a fortune, then maintain the fortune.
Means when youd paid 1.25L₹ for a 150cc mill ,then don't get scared for spending 1k on engine oil. After all ,this will prepare you for forthcoming shocks if you plan to hop on a bigger bike .
Just like for some people ,it's once Yamaha ,always Yamaha (not me ) .
Make it once motul ,always motul .(yes ,me too) .

Got Motul 7100. Have ridden for 40km so far, I can feel significant difference in smoothness of engine!

4000 kms and 7 months of my motul 300v 15w50 and it's brown in colour (and oil level is alright), time to drain it ?

was hoping it would go on till at least 4.5k as with most people.

How about engine smoothness?? Small quantity may look brown, but when you drain it will still be green. Engine will become bit harsh if is time to drain and you can easily find the difference. I do 4.5k kms every single time with pretty hard riding and even in super hot summers. So, change it if you find any difference in engine refinement.

yeah have been pondering myself about the oil looking brown yet engine behaviour (at high revs and otherwise) still being as good as ever...i guess it's what you said about it being brown in small quantity but probably is still mostly green inside...didnt know that could happen :-)

engine smoothness being unchanged so i guess no need to drain it for the next 400-500 kms yet.

In Chennai, if any one is looking for a rear tire replacement for R15 V2 and is on a tight budget, you can reach Singhvi Tyres, Whites Road, Royapettah(Near Sathyam Cinemas).

I asked prices on all tyre shops located on that road and purchased a Eurogrip Tubeless (130/70 17(not Radial)) for Rs.2300 (+2% extra for card payments)

TVS brands tyre was available for 2400 and Ceat for 3000 - 3200 respectively.

Few shops quoted 3600 for Stock tire (MRF) and few at 2900.

200Kms done with this new tire and i dont feel any big difference. My Stock tire was damaged severly with punctures and was not repairable.

R15 is not my daily commute. So I did not want to spend much on a parked bike. 19000 Kms completed so far.

Guys, today I had a near death experience today.while overtaking a 6 wheeler,a car came very fast from the other side. The side mirror of the car came very close to my mirror. If my mirrors collided with that of the car's then surely I would have gone under the 6 wheeler.I am asking this question because if my mirrors were loosened it could absorb the impact of coliding with the car and I would still have control over my bike to maneuver it out of danger. So should I loosen my mirrors because I keep then tight to avoid adjusting them every time.Guys this incidents still gives me the chills so give your opinions.
Thanks in advance.

I think you should start over taking carefully rather than applying physics on mirrors...

Are you sure you are mature enough to ride? What you are describing here seems to suggest that elevator does not go to the top floor!!!

Ride sensibly and safely, whats the great hurry; did someone's ship sink or did someone run away with that acne faced girl that you like so much but could never walk over to talk to? The only opinion that all sensible guys out here are going to give you is that ride cautiously and within your limits.
