I had my R15 serviced a few weeks ago (First free service). When the service card was being made, the mechanic recommended to add Fuel injection system cleaner (cost Rs 120) and Engine oil booster (cost 150), as the next service will be after 70 days. Both extras were in liquid form contained in small well sealed bottles, and had YAMALUBE labels. I was really getting late for the office at that time and didn't had enough time to inquire about the benefits of adding the optional extras, so I agreed to everything mech said and he added them to the service card.

now I don't have any knowledge of any such things like engine oil booster and Fuel injection system cleaner etc. So can you guys guide me.

1.Are these supplements worth the extra money.

2.If the mech asks to add them on the second service as well, should I spend the money or not.

After the service when I was taking the bike, the same mech warned me to drive slowly because the breaks were wet and wont work for a few Kms. so my breaks didn't work well for about 10 days after the service. The bite never came however hard I pressed the lever and pedal. I thought that they replaced my new break pads with old worn out ones (I've read something like this happening to someone), but eventually they got better and are now perfect like before.

But I wash my bike every Sunday and the breaking is never effected in any way.

can someone please tell What was the reason for this??
    1. No
    2. No u shouldn't spend on it. Or ask what it does for the bike. And take a pic of those in Yamalube. I haven't heard of anything like that. Maybe the bottles are of Yamalube, and not whats inside it.
That maybe due to diesel wash on the disc. Or maybe also due to chain lube or grease like substance got on to the disc.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Found it. But seems to be hidden away well beneath the fairing. Hope it isn't much of a chore getting the pencil print done.

        hello bro,
        Thanks for replying.

I contacted back to the service guys and asked them properly about the benefits of the supplements, they are supposed to clean the fuel injector system of small particles or deposits of some sorts and the engine oil booster enhances, the performance of the engine.

The bottles were well sealed and the mech opened the plastic seal and the cap seal of the bottles in front of me and poured its contents in fuel tank and engine oil chamber.

also about the disc brakes, I forgot to mention that I had teflon coating done on my bike, I've heard that it also affects brakes for a few days. Its is true and should I expect brakes to not work after every service??

It's pretty scary when you press hard on both brakes and the bike keeps moving...
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

nothing is supposed to happen to brakes after servicing or after washing the bike or getting it drained under the rains...at most a shoosh kind of sound may come from the front brakes and fork area right after washing it but that goes away in a short while and whatever makes that shoosh sound has no effect on the braking or suspension feelings or anything..so no, never expect faulty braking after normal servicing or washing..

My R15 had a crash today. Brother took it for a ride and dropped it. Told him to properly gear up before the ride, but he refused. Happened to argue with him for half an hour and made him wear a helmet. When I continued and asked him to wear thick jeans instead to shorts, he shouted at me,snatched the key and went. And the result.. he crashed my bike and came home complaining me for spoiling his mood while he was about to ride.

Friends, my bike's front fairing is broken, gear shift pedal, left clip-on handlebar and clutch lever got bent. What is the cost of the gear shift pedal and left handlebar ? And when my bike was brand new exactly after 15 days of purchase, My uncle took my R15 and scratched it's front fairing slightly. He knows how much I care for bikes and changed the whole front fairing at his own cost. And he also gave the front fairing to me. So can I change the broken front fairing with the one that I already have? I'm asking this specifically because my uncle said the whole front fairing must be changed along with the headlight assembly. Is it true??

              Sad to hear that!
Well I shall share the price of parts in my city (Bangalore)
              Handle bar 350/-
              Gear foot pedal 170/-
              Clutch lever 70/-
And regrading the fairing, the headlight assembly mostly cracks after a crash and the holders(of headlight assy) tend to break. You can still use the same by using rough screws which can firmly hold it. Although I had used a damaged light assy of mine after getting projectors installed and using rough screws where the holders were missing, I wouldn't recommend you the same because your light assy might be in even worse condition than mine. New light assy costs you 2250/- in my city.
Rest all like cowl and other fairing can be used if you think it doesn't need a replacement due to minor scratches.

I've found some more damages to the bike after riding it. The backlight of the console is not glowing. Even slight cross winds tend to wobble the front wheel of the bike. Could my bike have any more possible internal damages?? Can rim bends be the only cause for wobbling the bike ? Though my front wheel seems to alright .

Bent rim may be or even might be coneset coming loose or damaged. Try letting the hands off at some speed and see if the bike tracks straight.

Nopes, there might be a spill of oil or diesel cleaner on the brake pads. This effect can be reduced by washing the front brake area especially the pad area with soap/foam water.
Actually I find my bike's front brakes working little better after the servicing/wash as the dirt, mud stuff is washed away.

I have a P150 and the brakes are not that strong. Rear is a drum which is as useless as diesel in a petrol powered car. Front disc tends to loose its brakign capabilities when they turn slightly hot which I believe is ok but still braking and slow deceleration are pant wetting things.

Well, I'll tell you my story. My mom bought me this bike but she never sat on it, not even on it's rider's seat. Though it completely depends upon your mom's physical fitness to get on this bike which is not the case with most of the typical mothers in the country. BTW Good question on mother's day dude.

That is making me so confused day by day. My mom will bought me a bike and i cant think about any other bikes except the r15 but also the pillion factor is also there in r15. Really disappointing if you cant go a ride with the one who bought this for you. Big dilema....

This bike is much more fun than enjoying your ride with a pillion. If you really want to a bike with comfortable pillion sitting posture, better don't consider this bike.
