Hold your horses and change the oil+filter at 1000km ONLY.. Its pointless to change before cuz its a highly refined Yamaha engine.. The pistons and cranks dont shed metallic debris enough to necessitate an oil change before 1k. Remember its not mineral but SS that comes factory installed. So chill..


I got 52.5kmpl during run-in, I mentioned my method of riding a couple of posts back. If ur convinced, follow the same.

1. no not needed i guess, no use of changing the oil when its not used at all, and please get the manual, tool kit as soon as possible why didnt you demand it he same day you took the bike bud.

2. follow the manual i would say, the performance of the bike depends also on the way you will maintain it and ride it properly. so oil is just a part of it, and yes regular servicing is also good. dont plan for such a long time period. SS engine oil life will be good for atleast 2000+ kms i guess, so use it well.

3.thinking way too much bro. i can bet that almost 90 % owners use normal unleaded petrol {dont ask about octane n stuffs } but make sure the bunk where you fill up provide unadulterated petrol. both petrol bunks are good.

Kal gaya tha SVC to have a look. Bike hasnt been touched by those morons yet.. Lying in a corner with 10 other R15s..
They say they've ordered the parts,which are yet to arrive. Maybe another week i'll have to wait. Been 9 days without my beautiful Aura. Its difficult to not think about her.

I swear I'm in love. Have lost my appetite and a good no. of kilos and have had sleepless nights all week long..

I had hit a top speed of 82kmph. Was so happy when she touched that. I was moving like a missile.. It was amazing to be there..
Had plans of opening her the next day,sunday, but that manhoos saturday night I met with an accident.. After so many years tears rolled down my cheeks.. The pain was more emotional than physical..

and no teflon coating... no use of it at all :P wax polishing is good but i donno if people recommend it in the beginning itself. my advise will be dont go for teflon please, and wash your bike once in a week with clean water when it gets dirty, i mean dont simply keep washing it if there is no dirt.

Yes the Yammy logo has a lot of attractions, only god know why? The one on the tail costs 15/- , so dnt worry. There are plently of idiots out there , just chill.
I was told that the bike comes with teflon coat & waxing is good but can be done later.

Tried top whack for the first time!

I was waiting for this moment after my first servicing.. I jus wanted to try the top whack of my machine and finally i could manage to find some time for a short blast early morning.. WoW!! I was like, I reached 139 kmph at 9250 rpm!!! And guess wat, the bike was rock steady and gave me so much of confidence even on such high speed! I could not push the bike more as the wind resistance was too much and moreover the air was not that thin due to early morning.. May be it needed a little more power to push the bike more through the strong wind! But forget about more power,, a 149cc engine doing 139 kmph without any hassle is just mind blowing!! Yes i agree for digi meter there will be 3 /4 kms variance!

I also want to share a short joke with you guys- One of friends bought a blue R 15 v 2.0, when he was coming towards his home from showroom after getting the delivery, one bajaj's guy ( as he was wearing bajaj shirt on a pulsar) suddenly stopped in front of my friends new R 15. He asked my friend if it is a new vehicle.. my friend replied saying he just got it from showroom. The bajaj guy told him,' please return this R 15 immediately to the showroom as the R 15 has got some engine problem'... and immediately he went off. I was like LMAO... had i been thr with my fren i would hv first asked him to do a check up of his brain to see if he is in a proper mental state.... My first bike was a pulsar 150cc n i will tell you wat, its a good for a beginner, but not a great machine.

Yamaha's R 15 has proved its potential in the market and still going strong!!

Yes, black R15's are very less on road and there are too many red ones...
I have never heard anything about more re-sale value for the black ..

my wish bro how could i keep my hands off the sexy LE but my own one more reason is that, you ted to see lots of dust and dirt on the black {my experience with the black FZs i had before}
well the most i have seen are 1. red n white,2. black,3. blue and then LE.
lol donno about the resale value based on the colour but yes the black attracts lots of people and you gotta keep it clean n neat for a good resale value

Ronnie - What Abhi was trying to say by 'associated/ related' brands is that consider those brands those are already on (or you intend to get it on) your bike/ accessories. E.g. Motul, Fox, K&N, Yamalube, Nissin, Yoshimura, etc.

Me too gave the bike for service in same Sri motors chennai... Waiting for its arrival after first service My odo reading is 1083 and followed the run in perfectly.. Hope it ll return with super smooth
