4. At what rpm/ speed is the vibration coming into play?
5. What sort of noise?
Details, my friend, details. The more information you are able to provide, the better someone on the forum will be able to help you.
It clocked so far 2900 kms
But the issue was reported @ 2400

Boy!!! You sure got a lemon!!! From what I can make out from your description of the whole issue, your engine has suffer a complete seizer. You also say that this happen around 2300 kms mark and you took it to the service center. I am really surprised that the service personnel did not identify the problem at that point. You say they did something (if you can elaborate what) and sent you on your way!!! That is almost unbelievable!!!
There are 2 possible scenarios for the seizure. One is incorrect assembly and the second is insufficient oil. Tell me, did you get the oil change just before the problem occurred?
In any case it sounds like the service personnel are not trained properly or even worst, careless. My advice to you will be to take it to another service center and ask them to open the engine recheck each and every part including the crank, big end bearings, the cylinder, the head, etc. I also have doubts that seizer also affected the crank and the big end bearings.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

Well, the only way to fix this is to open the engine and replace all the effected parts or to do a complete engine swap (which I doubt they will do). The other option is to cut your losses and sell the bike.
You need to take a call based on what you can reasonably achieve and how much time, effort and money you are willing to spend on this whole thing.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

feel bad about your problems bud. i hope things get well soon. but i dont understand why are you getting the CBR inbetween in every post
problems like these happen to all, happens when there are a lots of bikes manufactured. i think you should make sure that those service people take up ur case seriosly or check with other service center. dont think that by buying any other bike people wont face problems
(seriously why would you think of spending lakhs again on other bike? )
BTW which SVC did you give?'On the Road that never ends...'

Welcome buddy. yes you are correct for the SAE 20W-40 or 20W-50 but it is not mentioned that if it SS or FS or Mineral.BTW the SVC guy told me that Yamalube 15W50 Semi Synthetic SL Grade is recommended which i have mentioned here.Originally posted by Asellus Borealis View PostThanks for the info, buddy. Yes. The manual just says 20w40 or 20w50, but since the R15 already comes filled with the semi-synthetic oil from the factory, I just presumed that it should be semi-syntheticOriginally posted by shadab007 View PostWelcome buddy. yes you are correct for the SAE 20W-40 or 20W-50 but it is not mentioned that if it SS or FS or Mineral.BTW the SVC guy told me that Yamalube 15W50 Semi Synthetic SL Grade is recommended which i have mentioned here.
As per the manual, the recommended ones have different viscosity indices as you have already said, but not sure if the 15w50 is okay. Hope somebody here can help you with this.Originally posted by shadab007 View PostIf this is recommended or not ?Last edited by Asellus Borealis; 05-03-2012, 07:24 AM.

Shadab, as already mentioned earlier, the recommended grade is 20W40 or 20W50. However, 15W50 is absolutely fine since it expands the range. AFAIK, all the yamaha SVCs use this oil for the R15.Originally posted by shadab007 View PostIf this is recommended or not ?
Projectors with angel eyes cost around 5k a pair at a shop I know here (no warranty). Not sure whether the stock battery would support projectors though.Originally posted by r_c111 View PostGuys i m planning to install HID & Projectors on my R15 . My question is how much should it cost, i asked a shop keeper he said 6500 for pair. Is it ok or shall i try something else?
Please do reply.Last edited by TeeJayy; 05-03-2012, 11:33 AM.
