I think 30000+ km is more than enough and by the looks of the Tyre i think you should change it.You don't want cracks like that on a tubeless Tyre.

Sure, if you keep the speeds below 10kmph and stop to check the state of your tires every 100m...if you call that running that is. BTW ur tire has shockingly low tread loss for 30k km (as u claim).

If you look carefully u will notice a small hole to drain out any water near the filler hole. As long as this isn't blocked it shouldn't be a problem.

                  Hi Guys,

I have decided to stick to stock tyres only. Now there is an issue.
I enquired at authorised MRF sellers in bangalore, but half of them do not have it in stock and those who have it in stock are asking for whatever prices they want to.
I came to know that the rear tyre cost is around 2400 and front tyre is around 1600 approx (Excl VAT,arnd a week back). But some are qouting as high as 4k for the rear one alone.
Please help me if you know any stores personally who can hook me up with these tires at the right cost.

                  Thanks

Hi all, I am a newbie to this forum. I am planning to buy R15 v2.0.Could anyone suggest me if it would suit my requirements.

I would drive approximately 40kms per day
Speed may be between 70 to 85 or 90.. sometimes I like to speed up..
My daily commute is only in outer ring road (Bangalore) not much of signals.
Haven't done any road trip yet.
                    Would expect atleast 40kms mileage.
                    Currently I own a Apache RTR 160..

                    please provide your suggestions..

R15 satisfies all ur requirements.. If your height is anywhere between 5"5 and 5"10 it fits you prefect.. You will face some wrist pain in tight traffic..

Has anyone got a mobile mount for your bike?
Most of them available are not suitable for clip on handle bars.

4k for just the rear? That's a rip off. Do ask around in other tire shops before you buy one and ensure the tires they sell you are relatively new and not old stocks manufactured years back. I'm actually thinking about going for Michelin Pilot Street Radial when I change my tires.

As far as the daily commute that you have mentioned, unless there is a huge amount of traffic, R15 will fit your requirements. You can easily do speeds of 70-90 without stressing the engine. It will have a sportier riding stance than the RTR, so you will need some time to get used to it. Initially you may have wrist pains, back pains, but once you get used to it, you will be comfortable with it. As far as the mileage goes, getting 40 to the litre depends on how you ride. If you are gentle with the throttle(which can be a hard thing to do on this bike ), you can easily get 40-45. Do take a test ride before you get the bike.

It is Rs. 3100 for rear tyre here in Mumbai. Look out for other options if you cannot find MRF.

The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Yes, the R15 fulfills your every requirement perfectly.
You can easily do the speeds you mentioned all day long without any problem.
As far as mileage is concerned, it depends on your riding style and how well you maintain your bike. A clean and well lubed chain makes a hell of a difference. Most of us easily get 40+ on open highways. But it goes down to 35-40 if there is stop and go traffic or a jam.
last but not the least, you'll have to bend forward quite a bit to reach the handle bars, which may cause back pain, if you dont have a history of back pains. go for it.
Also as one of the members suggested about wrist pains, it goes away withing 2 weeks, as you get used to the aggressive riding position. Take a test ride and decide.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.
