No doubt you get used to it, but Wrist pain doesn't really go away bro, its been 2 years and i ride 70kms a day including highways and traffic..the pain does get noticeable when you ride beyond 100kms/day!

Well brother, I ride about 30 - 40 kms a day, and very occasional weekend trips, and the pain really went away after about 20 days. But I never do long trips on my bike. so maybe riding 70 - 100 kms a day does cause pain in the wrist.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Guys, at the beginning of this monsoon, I had noticed my bike giving jerks( like lugging but more severe) if ridden at low speeds in 2nd and 3rd gear. This began only after the first rain. Now it has become very prominent. In traffic it's very difficult to ride since the bike keeps jerking heavily.
There are short moments of complete loss of power and then the next second the bike suddenly picks up pace.

The reasons I have been told were:
          1) Rain water entering fuel tank while bike is at rest, or running.
          2) Faulty water polluted petrol filled in open petrol pumps.
          3) Water entering spark plug area, but this seems highly improbable because of fairing)

I had changed spark plug and plug cap in last servicing suspecting it to be culprit. Also the service centre guy said the plug had burned.

Also, I may add. This happens only at low speeds below 30 and at low RPM's below 4k. As soon as RPM crosses 4k this problem doesn't arise.

Mostly the bike lugs in 2nd, 3rd gear, while moving slowly in traffic.

It had only started in monsoons.

I have done 3 long trips till now.. About 350-400 kms riding a day... My wrist and elbow hurts after about 150kms of riding. However it doesn't spoil the fun. I am 5"6, taller guys might find it more comfortable..

I think air filter might be the issue. Not sure though.
If its happening only on a cold engine, u shouldn't worry about it.

Daily commuting on an R15 has its set of problems like lower back pain, pain on wrist etc. These problems generally fade away after riding for about 10 days or so.Mileage according to ARAI is 45 kmpl.I would suggest you to go for a test drive before buying, you can also check out the cbr 150r,duke 200,they all fall among the same price range as the R15.

I will have it checked. Actually it happens only after riding couple of kilometers. First couple of kilometers are fine. And it's certainly a water- related problem since it started only after monsoons. Anyways thanks, I will have the air filter checked. A friend of mine had water logging in fuel tank. I suspect that the more I think about it. Btw, is it possible for water to enter fuel tank through keyhole on tank and neighboring area?

If the gasket in the fuel cap is spoilt, there are chances of water getting in to the tank.. In that case you will lose considerable amount of petrol due to evaporation.

Thanks to everyone for your response..

I am worried about the wrist pain..I did a test drive but did not feel uncomfortable (it was only a short ride) ... if it comes only in tight traffic and long distance I guess I should not worry as I will not be doing both usually....
Could someone tell me if you feel pain when u break suddenly for a speed breaker?

I took a test drive of cbr 150 too.. there were few reasons I took it out of my list..

                          1. I felt R15 has better in pickup..
                          2. It is more expensive than R15
                          3. I heard maintenance and spares are expensive compared to R15(not sure about this though). Can someone comment on this topic...
                          4. Mileage for r15 is also better..

KTM :I heard it is 1.75 lacs so didnt try it at all ..

Yes, pain comes only during long rides and very tight traffic especially if you ride with a heavy pillion.. By long rides I mean more than 150kms/day There no pain during hard braking..
R15 any day is better than CBR150R..

I had been to the ASC today. They checked into my bike's problem of jerking abruptly in monsoons.

                              Here's the quotation:

                              Fuel tank cleaning: ₹500

                              Fuel pump service: ₹2000 !!!!

                              Injector cleaning: ₹200

Getting it done as I don't see an alternative.

A week ago maybe, I posted a pic of what happened to be an O2 sensor in an R15. (Spotted at GP road) Posting again!

Did some googling and found this about the Thailand spec R15 stating that these are indeed O2 Sensors!
