Paint peeling off (apparently) at the exact same place on most LEs.

Yup, its a common thing in all white LE's, I personally know 4 other LE owners with the same problem!...although i don't know if the other variants have the same issue...i already got a paint touch-up done from this guy i know and its holding up pretty well...not noticeable until u try real hard to find the spot!Originally posted by ABikerAtHeart View Post

It was a FZ main stand. going by the looks of it. it was coming just a 3/4 cm below the side stand. I dont think it was lower the fairings on our babes. So it should not be a problem AFAIKOriginally posted by geek-boy View PostI was planning on getting the same done...doesn't it affect the cornering ability of the bike?
Keep Calm and Kaam se Kaam
To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.
Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

Sure it will, havent you noticed that even the side stand is removed on the R15's used in one make championship since there is high possibility of it scrapping down and losing control.Originally posted by geek-boy View PostI was planning on getting the same done...doesn't it affect the cornering ability of the bike?
This same problem is reported on many R15 v1's. But I dont think the same happens on other coloured R15 V2.0 's except White.Originally posted by geek-boy View PostYup, its a common thing in all white LE's, I personally know 4 other LE owners with the same problem!...although i don't know if the other variants have the same issue...i already got a paint touch-up done from this guy i know and its holding up pretty well...not noticeable until u try real hard to find the spot!

Will shoot a mail to Yamaha in the same regard.
On-other-topic: Cleaned the chain and lubed it. Whatta pain it is but worth the trouble. Pics coming up in 5 mins.__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _______

yup I know dude, after my accident i replaced the same smashed panel with a new one...but as u know the paint keeps chipping off at that same spot...and there would be no point in just replacing the panel as it would result in the same...the next wise thing i could think of is getting a paint touch up done...and i have to admit, it looks pretty neat..though not good as the original but i can live with that!Originally posted by ABikerAtHeart View PostHad you complained, you wouldav got the panel replaced FREE OF CHARGE,bro..
I agree.Originally posted by Ivin View PostSure it will, havent you noticed that even the side stand is removed on the R15's used in one make championship since there is high possibility of it scrapping down and losing control.
I just inquired with the other guys...it doesn't seem to be an issue in the normal variants, guess why this happens to the white LE's aloneOriginally posted by Ivin View PostThis same problem is reported on many R15 v1's. But I dont think the same happens on other coloured R15 V2.0 's except White.
as if the spares pricing wasn't already a nuisance!
yea it sure is!..Which clean and Lube did u use?...I use Motul chain clean and lube and its holding up pretty well...lasts long in these rains even after commuting 18-20 kms daily!Originally posted by ABikerAtHeart View PostWill shoot a mail to Yamaha in the same regard.

The sauce bottle contains kerosene worth Rs10.
Old tooth brush.
TVS Chain Spray worth Rs310.
The bike parked and newspaper spread well.
The kerosene application was made much easy by the nozzle.
Brushing it up. See the dirt?
See the difference?
After 1 hour of cleaning.
After 1 minute of lubing.
Yayy! *so proud*

Will leave the bike untouched till morning for the lube to semi-solidify.
@geekboy: I used kerosene instead of chain-clean as per Pinaki Sir's post, given it doesnt require water which could cause rusting and is very very cheap. But it requires a lot brushing.__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _______

A neat job there. How did u manage without a paddock/ main stand? Did u drag the bike back/ forth to cover the entire chain?Originally posted by ABikerAtHeart View PostThe sauce bottle contains kerosene worth Rs10.........

Wrong thread, broOriginally posted by ABikerAtHeart View PostUndoubetly the ZMR. Fits every slot perfectly. Though I'd suggest ZMA-R simply cuz it looks alot more macho and stylish to me. Not Fi in the Zma but I dont think its needed.
Pulsar 220 is another good options comes with a semi fairing. Helps in touring. Fantastic mileage for a 220cc.
Fazer is the last best option from my side. Yamaha engine is sure reliable at high speeds and in the long run. Spares are cheap too. Mileage of 40kmpl on constant high speed touring is evident.
