Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
No it won't. The lever is connected to a pushrod that goes right in between the clutch spline and pushes the clutch. Won't come out until n unless you take out the clutch assemblyOriginally posted by Ram Shankar Ramasamy View Post

Didn't came to this though the price n problem you mentioned were exactly the same. Had stator coil winding issue in one of the poles and corrected. Thank you.[/QUOTE]Originally posted by Harihara View PostHi thank you very much both of you guys you been saviors! The problem was with coil winding and corrected by service center guys it's fine for now but know if the problem will come again. You guys have been huge help though thanks.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
If your Engine number (check the Rc book) starts from 1Ck then the stator is a 3 phase one its 2400 approx(changed it at 84k kms 1 year back), if it starts from 2FB then its single phase so expect it to be considerably, considerably cheaper than the 3 phase stator.

The bike was running absolutely fine at service center. But as soon as I rode back home I can observe the console light it blinks every time I try to crank engine with self start like it's not getting enough power and extracting too much from battery. Don't know when it will give up again. Really frustrated now please suggest what should I do now..

Change the battery with a functioning one and see your batt is screwed up I think. It could be new but continuous running on low battery may screw it up. Check your wiring for shorts too

does that mean new bikes makes less than 160w @5000 rpm?Originally posted by black asp View PostThe R15-S has a single phase system( read cost cutting) and i dont know the charging rate of the stator. In case of 2008-2014 models(3-Phase systems) it was ~160w at 5000rpm .

No man I didn't say that. I don't know how much the single phase systems make. I don't have the workshop manual for them.most probably they will also be making similar power.Originally posted by christo View Postdoes that mean new bikes makes less than 160w @5000 rpm?

I was thinking of installing a headlight relay and putting a 35w on low beam and a 55w h7 on high beam(90w total). stock bulbs consume 85w total(2x35w+3x5w). I've replaced those 3 5w bulbs to 1w led, so saved 12w there. if i go ahead with the plan, ill be using 8w more than the stock setup, will it drain the battery? im hoping using 8-10w more isn't gonna be a problem.
edit: is there anyway we can get a shorter mirror or make the stock one shorter by cutting and welding/epoxy glue ? stock ones are too long for my tasteLast edited by christo; 11-19-2016, 01:15 PM.Yamaha YZF-R15

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Yeah, pickup has came down a tiny bit. Actually, I talked to the SVC people recently, they mentioned about checking valve timing and replacing some parts (pretty sure they didn't mention clutch plates). Anyways, Golden Jubilee would come next month, I'll update the details here.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View Post
50k is a something to worthy enough and calls for a small treat. Personally, if the bike runs fine, I'd suggest not to touch anything. But just in case, since we're into the topic Golden Jubilee.
Clutch plates. If you've owned the bike single handedly then you can pretty much ascertain as to the reduction in pick-up, if any If yes, now is the right time to check/replace your clutch plates.
Valve timing: Though as much as a worn clutch can cause a reduction in pick up, loose valves can easily rob the engine's power producing capability, right from vibrations to jerkiness and what not. Again, if not done, this takes number one priority.
Wheel bearings, both front and rear: Obvious, isn't it.
Swing arm bushings and fuel pump pressure check. Takes priority number two.
Cheers!

Firstly h7 won't fit in the stock reflectors.Originally posted by christo View PostOkay.

Secondly I would say stay away from the experiment. Been there done that not worth it(ya each n every step you mentioned). Not worth that much of hassle.

so you done the relay setup and found no considerable improvement in light output?Yamaha YZF-R15

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Yes but the light spread was terrible. In short the extra light was unusable thanks to the garbage reflectors R15 has.Originally posted by christo View PostI know h7 won't fit directly into the stock socket.

By the way why put a relay???
I don't think it's going to help in battery consumption issues.
Relay is not required and I didn't use it.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Relay is very much needed. stock electricals are designed to light a 35w for low beam and 2x35w for high beam. putting a higher wattage bulb in stock setup won't give much light improvement. In this case a relay is used, which bypasses the stock wiring and switches and runs power directly from battery to the lights. So there won't be any voltage drops and a 55w bulb will get required power and works at its full intensity. If you did not use a relay and just used higher power bulbs, it won't be of much use.Originally posted by black asp View PostYes but the light spread was terrible. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I know what a relay does. If you bypass the stock wiring that's fine but ultimately you draw power from the battery. Which is charged by the stator and that is weak.
Relay or no relay battery discharge issues won't be solved. Light throw will be abysmal(bad reflectors design).

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
That was the reason I went for projectors. This 55w 35w jugaad won't help if you are on a highway the throw was bad . I used 55w in low beam the brightness increased considerably but the light was concentrated in a single place leaving loads of blind spots.
So the reason for visiting dx.com for 4300k hid projectors.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
What I would suggest is get a trashed or junked or burnt stator from junkyard and give it rnd motovil guys in Hyderabad for rewinding.
They are good some of my friends are using their re-wounded stators and happy.
Me also going that route. Waiting to visit bbsr to fetch my burnt stator to go down the rewinding route
