No need to modify, remove the original stock bulbs & install this, just plug & play, it consumes 25w which is less than halogen (35w).
But the product reached Kolkata from China in 30 odd days.
    Just check the light.

          Hi All,
There a few questions that I have regarding my R15 v2.0 and needed some help in finding answers to that .
A quick background of the bike , its a 2015 July model, has done close to 25K kms till now.
I started facing some issues with the handle as it was jamming at around 18K kms, when I took it to the ASC (Vinayak Yamaha in bangalore),they told that there is a problem with the cone set of the handle and it needs a replacement (Gave an estimate of about 5K rs).I didnt want to spend that much money then and asked for an alternative solution ,and he told that he can get it polished and it will be as good as new,and all that for only rs 1400. I took the second deal and from then on its a downhill ride for me.The bike started giving problems after a mere 100kms and since then I have visited the ASC about 5 times, but all they did was charge me but my problem was not resolved.
In all frustration ,I took my bike to IndiMotrad in bangalore, and still the same result ran good for 200kms and then problems. I am now looking to replace the cone set entirely, since I have a trip coming up in december, hence this post .
Right now as I write this this post ,I am not at all confident with my bike and actually feel afraid riding it.
          Now coming to the questions.
1: Has anyone here ever faced a cone set problem in an R15,and is it normal to occur at this mileage?
2:Any one from bangalore ;who has faced this issue and got it success fully resolved;could you please guide me to the appropriate mechanic/garage/ASC in bangalore, I don't quite trust the Vinayak Yamaha guys ?
3:I am quite confused about the cost too,the ASC guys say it will cost close to 5k ,and my local mechanic tells he will do it with original parts for 2.5k?He says that he gets it cheaper since he gets it tax free;is there any truth in it?
PS: This is a very desperate situation I am in . Any Help will be highly appreciated .Thanks in advance.

if your coneset is truly damaged (rusted out totally, not in proper geometrical shape, etc), you have no choice but to replace it...there are two sets of these things, one just located at the center area of the handlebar, one way down below located somewhere on the way to the forks...the former one costs merely 600, the latter one costs around 2000 or 2200 or so (these are the prices from two years ago when i had to change mine, not sure if they've changed much by now)..in any case, i doubt anything should cost 5000 now...that's too much...changing the former takes no time, the latter though is a pretty big work for which the mechanic has to disassemble the whole front of the bike...

many people including me have written about coneset problems (of some or the other kind) in this thread, it seems to be quite a common problem...this is probably because the basic service doesnt include a regular greasing of the conesets which in my opinion is actually important to do once every few months and SVCs should make greasing at least the handlebar coneset a part of the general service...i now grease the upper simple-work coneset once every 3-4 months...even though a few months old coneset will also be seen getting rust (more so if frequent washing of the bike is done or after rainy season), regular greasing nonetheless stretches its life by a big margin...i'd suggest you do the same after getting the new conesets...these are a problem because no one tells us to grease them regularly even though it seems to be a component that requires regular maintenance...the below, hard-to-work coneset cant be worked on regularly so it has to be left on fate, but greasing the upper handlebar one is a simple enough job...

sorry for late reply, checked out the thread after about a week and thought of answering you just in case it's still relevant.

Guys, how about your front suspension? Is it on the harder side or softer side? Can guys easily push it when bike is on halt fully?

Just trying to understand if my front suspension has become softer with time.

to all friends, I need some info & am looking for a bike suited to touring, R15s is also one of my choice as it is reliable and can ride at high speed (100 km/hour) for hours.
                1) In top gear, at what rpms it does 80 km/hr, 90 km/hr and 100 km/hr?Kindly reply with rpm and speed.
                2) What fuel efficiency one can expect by consistently riding at 90-100 km/hr at 5th gear on highways?
                3) Is the windblast tolerable at 100km/hr?

Help me. You can reply in this thread or PM me or you can reply in my "what bike" thread - "A bike only for Touring under a budget of 1 lakh to 1.7 lakh rupees"

I asked the service center here about this thing! They said that those people don't know about this product and they also said that they don't usually do alterations in the service center!
Is it the same scenario in all the service centers?

                  1) In top gear, at 5 rpm you will go in 75km/hr.. So obviously 100km/hr will be somewhere near 7.5-8 rpm.
                  2) You will get 40kmpl if you really maintain your bike well like keeping the chain clean always!
                  3) Yes of course the wind blast is tolerable in that speed if you ride wearing a helmet!
As it is a single seat version, you can obviously take it for touring purpose and it won't give you back ache if your height is somewhere near 5.1-5.7"
So take a test drive and decide it!
                  Best of luck! 😋

Thanks, the height also is suitable. 40 kmpl is an awesome fuel efficiency.Sure i would test ride and decide. Getting test ride of R15 is difficult in chennai. asked few dealers and they are saying, r15 is booked without test rides only...

No problem! Get a ride from one of your friends who ride an R15.. Or else get the test ride somewhere in the seconds sale automobile consultancy! They'll give you a test ride for sure! And you can go and book a new one in the showroom! [emoji14][emoji14]

Kamla Yamaha service center guys tell me to lube using chain lube spray but then another Yamaha authorized service center guys tells me its better to apply paste type grease on chain as it will last long somewhere around 1500 kms as opposed to 500 km on chain lube spray. One service center guys contradicts other. What do you guys suggest?

                            The ratios are as below:
                            6th gear : 15
                            5th gear : 13

                            2 : 7
                            1 : 5

                            i.e. in first gear if the RPM is 6K, the speed will be 6 * 5 = 30 kmph;
at the same RPM at 4th gear, the speed will be 6 * 11 = 66 kmph and so on.

that means at 7k rpm, one can cruise at 105 km/hr on 6th gear. That's more than enough and it has more power in reserve to overtake....

My personal two cents is that applying grease would entail attracting more grime as compared to a liquid lubing agent. Hence you would spend more time cleaning the sprockets.
