Open the clip to the fan assembly from the wiring harness and spray wd40 and clean it. Should do the trick.
The fan assembly clips are rarely opened so chances are that there will be corrosion deposits.
I have attached a pic clean the red marked area and the clip that connects the wiring harness to the red marked part.

Do this and post.

P.S This is not a R15 fan the pic is just for showing the clip i mentioned.
Secondly,if you are not confident in doing so get it done from a mechanic. I am not responsible for any damage arising out of ill handling or worn out parts.

Thanks for the reply. I was just wondering what do you mean by "your stator might be at fault, and your new stator might as well, give up sooner rather than later, due to your defective stator." I will ask svc guy to check the stator coil. Any idea how much it will cost!? Anyway thanks for your help.

If your Engine number (check the Rc book) starts from 1Ck then the stator is a 3 phase one its 2400 approx(changed it at 84k kms 1 year back), if it starts from 2FB then its single phase so expect it to be considerably, considerably cheaper than the 3 phase stator.

Hi guys

I own a R15 S which is 8 months old and reads 6k on the odo, today the engine check light(orange), second from right switched on when I was riding and switched off itself after sometime, the same had happened a month ago too. What might be the issue and how do I check and get it fixed?

Thanks

Hi all..i own a 3 month r15 v2 clocked 4.5k kms. After i clocked 3k my rear brakes started making a screeching noise kind of metallic. The svc guys said this is normal and brake pads have ample life..i cannot digest this..how can a new bike make such noise.. please suggest.

Count the blinks. There will be 2 types short blinks and long blinks.Count the number of long blinks and multiply it by 10. Count the number of short blinks and multiply it by 1. Add both. If the final result is 46 then chances are your stator coil/RR unit is faulty. Before this check whether there are any cracks/ loose sensors/loose connections in the wiring and open wires are touching any metal parts or not. If the wiring is intact then the RR/ stator will be your issue.

P.S I know its a yamaha and its almost new the product is good but i have seen faulty yamahas too off the crate from the factory and its a probability not surity that any thing has gone bad. So hope for the best prepare for the worst. Any ways if stator/RR is gone then it will be claimed under warranty.

Thanks black asp, the led doesn't blink, it just stays on for sometime. I saw the issue today also and observed that it turns on whenever I go above the speed of 90kmph and turns itself off when I slow down.

Some wire is spliced and touching the chassis or any other metal parts most probably.check it thoroughly.

Hi all. I've couple of questions

1. I own a 2014 v2 with 27k on the odo. currently running on Motul s.s 5100 15w50. What is the ideal drain interval for this oil.

2.please look at the attached pic. Came across this broken spring in clutch actuator linkage in engine casing. didn't face any problem with gear shift and clutch usage though. How bad is it and how to replace it.

1. i used to replace it at around 3 - 3.5k, not more than that.

2. how's shifting through first two gears? hard or usual like taller 4th or 5th gear? it creates no immediate problems, replace it in your next service. my second one is broke too for the past 4-5k kms. its keep getting broken, don't know whats causing it.

On my 5th spring. Changing it is a hassle clutch assembly needs to be taken out. I use to change it whenever I used to change plates or reset my bell. Currently running with broken spring stopped bothering
