It all looks very reasonable IMO. But whats that thing costing rs.250? have you asked to replace anything ?

Nope. I guess that must be Air Filter.

            yes, probably.

Made myself a footpeg raisrer plate, and a longer shifter rode. iIm 5'7 but my knees where never been really in the tank recess, so i was unable to grip the tank properly with my knees. now, problem solved that too without shelling out massive amounts, DIY is the way to go

Stocks ones are perfect and you can try getting Nissin ones from outside Yamaha SVC.

I have bought Front disc pad purchased from Yamaha service centre and fixed by myself. Some how i am not happy with the braking performance. Cleaned the pads twice yet it gives strange screech noise till the pads gets warmed up. Is this the correct part for R15 as the price seems to 630 INR. Old brake pads have wear indicators and original pads came nearly 13k kms. Also replaced with Rimula R4 again for next 1500kms and later will be relaced with motul 7100 10W40.

Never go for local/non OE pads. I recently got non OE rear brake pads due to nonavailability of genuine brake pads in my native place. And the result poor braking , screeching noise and over heating of caliper.

Here are the pics of those pads just after 300 kms. Scary isn't it . and now running on OE brake pads.

                      • Help me testing my coolant system :: Yamaha R15v2

                        Hi friends,
                        I bought a Yamaha r15v2 yesterday(Not a new one, its a second hand).
The engine was quiet smooth as its started, after some 10 minutes the engine sound got changed.
When i went through a hard traffic i find the red temperature indicator gets ON in HUD.
I feel too hot on both my thighs.
I also find that my radiator fan doesn't start at that temperature.
Engine never gets off. But the engine sound gets hard.
After that i parked my bike on the roadside and wait for 15 mins but the red indicator is still ON, after that i cranked my bike (i find yellow warning indicator flashed for three times in one second gap each and it vanished) and start moving with still red indicator ON and after some times the red indicator also vanished.
But i feel too hot on both my thighs and legs throughout i reached my home.(its like 10 kms ride)
I already owned a yamaha r15v1. I never got any problem like that or i haven't see the red indicator gets on a single time also.
But i am worried about the red indicator in my new bike.

help me guys : How to check the radiator fan manually, to check the water pump manually, to check the thermostat manually. I need to completely test all the coolant system of my bike manually. It would be very helpful for me and it also helps peoples got same problems in future.

                        Thanks

                              Thanks

                              FOR WATER PUMP

when the engine is cold open the radiator cap and let the bike run if you see a fall in the coolant level then congrats your water pump is working. if not then here lies your problem.
Do this step first if the level falls then move to the next step.

                              FOR THERMOSTAT AND FAN
Let the bike run for 10-15 mins in standstill if the fan runs then the fan and thermostat are fine.
If the fan fails to run then do the below-mentioned thing.

                              JUST FAN

Disconnect the red marked clip when the bike is running the fan will switch on.
If the fan switches on then your fan n relay are fine. Your thermostat is junk most probably.
Try to take the thermostat out and put it in water and boil it. At a certain temperature ~100 degrees celsius you will hear a click. If you hear the click your thermostat is fine.
Move to the next step if you hear a click.

                              FOR RADIATOR FAN RELAY

I don't know about present R15 but if your R15 is before 2015 model the open the rear seat and take out the rubber covering. locate the ECU and on the left side of the ECU, there will be 2 blue color boxes. Those are the relays. The top one is starter relay as far as i remember. The bottom one is the radiator fan relay. swap the relays with each other and try to start the vehicle. If it doesn't start then the relay is at fault.

I am sure in your case, the thing which is faulty is the radiator fan relay. Get it checked. costs 80 bucks to replace.

P.S. Do all these things with a cold engine. With a hot engine instead of checking coolant or water pump etc, you will mostly have to check with a doctor afterwards for burns and scalds if hot coolant spills or boils over. Lastly, I am not responsible for mishaps of any kind that may arise due to negligence.

Replaced the stock mrf with michelin pilot street. wet grip is amazing, beyond words.
cons are, now i cannot go back to the stock mrf and front mrf is definetly the limiting factor, need a better tyre. The michelin grips better, heats up faster etc... very satisfied, worth spending 5k.
