.. I had lot of time for the trip. So slow and steady..
Yes, the more power you extract from the engine, you will have to leave your mileage part
Shifting at 7k rpm doesnt always result in low mileage. Check the spark plug, clean it, clean air filter, check air pressure, Dont vary speeds all the time, and mostly in cities, 1st and 2nd gear will be used ,so no choice there and it further reduces the mileage.
Still if you want mileage, you will have to get some mileage oriented bikes
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

If you know to dismantle the caliper, then clean it including the pads. If not, ask svc to do it.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostHello....I hear a screeching sound from my front disks.......I also noted that it kinda scratched (spiral shaped micro scratches )...should i take it to SVC or can i fix it myself???

Bro I used to shift almost similar to the pattern of yours.Originally posted by ArriveAlone View PostHello Guys ,
I clocked 6000 km's on ODO and gave my bike for 3 rd service . They did
1. Oil change
2. Chain clean & lube
3. Coolant top up
The bill amount was Rs.768 ..
They should replace Air / oil filter , right ? Secondly , I used to shift gears @ 7 k RPM and maintain speeds between 80 - 105 km/hr on city roads and I'm getting only 32 km/liter . Any problem with my bike ? When I saw the Mileage poll so many have voted 35-40 km/liter and @ IVIN In his Earlier post said he mentioned he got 55 km/liter on highway , if is it possible please tell me how to get so that I can improve the FE of my bike ! On the hole I'm not satisfied with the FE of my Bike So Please help me out !!
My shift pattern
I maintain a speed ranging from 100 Kmph - 120 Kmph on highways and inside city, I will drive to the limit of the traffic.First 4 K - 4.5 K Second 5 K - 5.5 K Third 5.5 K - 6.5 K Fourth 6.5 K - 7.5 K Fifth 6.5 K - 7.5 K Sixth 7 K - 9.5 K
My mileage never dropped below 38 Kmpl. Maximum mileage I got is 44 Kmpl. So your babe is definitely giving less mileage.
Things to check for
* Proper tyre pressure
* Idle RPM (1.4 K for me @ hot)
* Brakes. (Sometimes wheels don't spin freely due to over tightened calipers etc..)
* Air filter (Blockage in Air filter can cause the bike to run rich which will obviously reduce mileage)
* Oil filter (Blockage in oil filter can increase the friction between cylinder and piston)
Since our bikes are FI ones nothing more needs to be checked.
Also try changing the petrol pump.
If you even get lesser mileage after checking the above, report to ASC.

A total of Rs.28000 for ECU , Camshaft and Muffler kit. The Yamaha showroom which sells these kits are too far away from my place. That is the only problem .Originally posted by anex View Post@Ivin: nice pics,
