Nitrogen is not available in most of the bunks and it lasts longer than the regular ones as the other member mentioned! I was also told that it stays much cooler comparative when on a long ride which reduces the wear and tear!!
I was charged 30/- for the first time and every month I get it checked and refilled by paying 20/-

My views on the bike so far. Riding position is sporty as expected but getting used to it. Love the position of the footpegs. Handling is razor sharp. Stands out from the crowd easily. One of my friends thought it was a Ninja from a distance due to the green color Wating for registration to be completed(mostly by wednesday) so that I can do some longer rides and test myself. Havent crossed the 5k limit. There is a good amount of feedback to the rider. Brakes are top notch as well.

Guys I am sharing my story with V2
I bought it last December with ODO on 9717Kms. There was a wierd noise a tak tak sound coming from engine when i rev up and leave the throttle. The sound started at around 3k rpm and cotinued till idling. I took the bike to ASS before buying and asked about the noise they told that it was the clutch bushes gone bad as the noise decreased when clutch was pulled as it was not a major problem I bought the bike. I repaired clutch from my regular mechanic at 14K kms, noise was reduced but it was there. Mech told it could be crank problem but told it will not come this early and that too in R15 so we suspected work on the clutch was bad (as the riveting and bush changing was done in another place). As I had a doubt I went to ASS and two more workshops and everybody said it was clutch not crank. There was no harshness in revs and the bike felt smooth in entire rev range the noise was only audible when the revs where coming below 3k rpm. I drove for 7000kms more and noticed vibes in handlebar along with the noise. At that time I was in Mysore so went to Arjun Motors there they checked the bike and told me it was crank (connecting rod bearing was kaput). Bikes accelaration also dropped (dont know if it was mental feeling). The repairing cost was qouted near 12000rs from ASS (8214rs for crankassembly) excluding piston cylinder assembly. So decided to sell the bike (I had lost faith in these workshops).
This is a problem which could be due to poor maintanance (Iam 99% sure abt it) of prevoius owner and because I love the way the R15 handles and brakes. Bike performed flawlessly till 20000kms with the crank problem being there from 9K Kms itself and I had done many trips on it and not even a single time it didn't left me stranded on road. I have exchanged bike with Yamaha showroom and booked a New R15 in Race Blue.

This Experiance thaught me two things

1.If you are buying a second hand bike and think it has some problem walk away from deal.
2.Always ask for service records and if you find any service missing don't go for it.

^^ is it DIY or you did it from someone??

              Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Superb bro... Take care and ride safe. This machine tempts a lot to rev her up... Just control yourself chennai got more stupid people on roads(experience ) also take her up to 6k RPM after at least 100km.. Run-in properly without lugging and babysitting, you'll have a wonderful experience with her later on.. My advice, just don't take her into the city while running in. Traffic sucks nowadays and you can't run in properly and you'll end up heating the engine.

Yup, noticed it on the very first ride home. The engine got heated and I could feel it. Waiting for the registration to be done(by Wednesday) and then planning on some short rides. The bike is really tempting when you are close to 5k, but I'm just controlling myself. Its quite an attention magnet here(although I'm a bit worried about it though). I'm already addicted to the machine. I can't pass a day without riding her

Everything is ok, but tyres are too dirty. Your paint job will look good only when you clean up and polish the tyres.....

                          oh, i see...

you can only imagine what the situation in allahabad was during the kumbh mela in january-march 2013 and the 5-6 months duration before that when the UP govt was reconstructing all the broken roads and flyovers and everything all over the city.

of course, i didnt have the R15 back then.

                            Hi Everyone
I was in a dilemma over the last few weeks as to upgrade from Yammy to DUKE 390. Finally dropped the idea for now ... Going tomorrow for the 4th service.... There is something wrong in the handling dept again ( mostly something to do with race bearing kit).
I have 2 questions in my mind though -> 1) I was out of station for a week. When I came back & used my bike the next day... the engine sounded harsh for 6-7 odd kms.... is this normal???)
                            2) Is the starting sound of V1 different from V2. I am asking this coz I have noticed a fan-like sound ( and its not the radiator fan as I started the bike after 12-13 hours) everytime I start my V2?

am soon sticking a rim tape on my wheels, but unable to decide what colour would suit the most - blue or green..any suggestions from people with vivid graphical sense ? blue would seem to be an obvious one, but then green also seems pretty nice looking in my mind...red or yellow tape surely too funky on a racing blue R15.
White RIm tapes. see if you can get a good tweak in the design of the tape. dont go for plane circular tape

                              2. i think it is different. and that hissing sound is the FI. told millions of times here.

                                Hi Guys,

I own an R15v2 and I find the stock lights are not at all sufficient. I am going for a long ride this weekend which would consist of night riding as well.

                                I have 4 questions.

1.Can go for a higher wattage more powerful bulb? (I need much more light)

2.If yes , please suggest which to go for. A very noob question, can I use 4300K bulbs without ballast?

                                3.Is 4300K a plug n play or do I need a whole setup.

Also it should not be a bomb on the pocket as its month end.

4.Also can I get any of these in and aournd whitefeild bangalore?
