Once you take out a brake line and install a new one , you need to change the washers(2 rings) present between the caliper and brake line and between brake line and master cylinder unit. Costs Rs.5/ring. Buy four of them. Hard to find at Yamaha spares, but easily available at Bajaj spares. It is clearly recommended to change it once you take out your brake line.
Thanks dude but before i saw your post i had got the washers changed (as identified as the culprit by my mech) but the washers that were put on were sourced from yamaha svc so would like to know if these washers will do the job or do i have to get another set of washers from the bajaj svc to match the bajaj cables i had put
    cheers

just wanted to ask those who use xena locks whether all their models of locks fit the R15 v2 disc or not ? anyone here ended up buying some model (xx, xn, xzz, x1, x2) that turned out to not fit the R15's disc ? in this thread i have seen people mentioning the XX6 model, so that obviously fits...i am going to buy the XN one (least costly at ebay including shipping among the alarm locks) most probably, so !!!

just ensuring it before actually finally buying it. although it certainly seems from stuff written on the internet that all these models fit all bikes with front discs.

i find it quite surprising that no motorcycle accessories store in india, not even performance racing, sells disc locks... despite the fact that these days even a bunch of normal bikes have front discs.

Once you get your bike, buy a cross or ls2 with full face lid. DO NOT buy the motocross lid(had an experience on it earlier).

Yupp it really sucks at high speeds! And the visor just covers your eyes but leaves nose and mouth uncovered!

I touched 150kmph in 6th gear at 7.9k rpm in Bangalore-Kolar stretch! Its was at that speed for lyk 6-7secs and later started fluctuating between 147-149. But I admit that there is a possibility of a speed reading error. I had no pillion to check gps error although the same speed was touched by one of my friend who had a pillion yet failed to check for the error! I can say that it can easily touch 145 kmph without a pillion and leaning forward. Then on you need a empty stretch to push it till 150.

Buy XX6. no questions asked. the number 6 defines the 6mm diameter of the pin. it easily goes through the holes on the disc.

speedo indicated speeds differ from each bike. mine went upto 153kmph. few others went upto 152 or 150 or 145 etc etc.

where as the true speed is supposed to be between 135-140kmph (vbox indicated) . dont know about dyno testing.
