  • Helloz peoplez,

Delhi is HOT these days. Since past 2-3 days , i have been coming to office on my ride. Every time i notice this, no matter what the traffic conditions are, the bike feels good in cold temperature, During 9-10 AM it feels like something i can`t explain, not at all pleasurable to ride. I think it is because of that it heats up more.
Sorry if this sounds stupid to you, any one else faced similarly ?

@Suraj_Vanse shares exactly the same thought as you. He mentioned this time and again, the bike feels very smooth when the weather is cold and harsh when when the weather is hot. I myself never observed any of this though.

Himanshu it does happens in such hot weathers, as the temperature rises the bike gets heat up either it was standing in heat(not necessarily under sunlight) or the engine heats up and some of the heat radiates out from the body. It do happens with me when i ride to my office late in afternoon, but you cant help with this climate, nothing to worry radiator fans are there to keep your bike cool

Yes, go ahead with the purchase.

            1) YFS dealership is good but after sales services involves a cost for no reason. Also, "at times" you are not allowed inside the service bay during servicing schedule. Very pricey in terms of taxes for no reason. Service is costly too.
            2) Monarch on the other side is laid back, very genuine and good but that doesnt mean you stay absent during service or be inattentive, just be present during the regular service and everything will be transparent. Very good sales, servicing costs and labor charges are cheap and affordable. They do not charge for you several taxes like YFS.
            3) A normal repair in Monarch would consume a day's time unlike YFS for days to come.
            4) On a weekend morning the rush in YFS for servicing is horrible, feel free to stand in a queue which is half a km long, not kidding.
            5) You can even service the vehicle in Suvarnarekha Auto which is a subsidy of Monarch auto.
            6) The way I see it, the only problem for you is going to be of location, since you stay in Wakad, Monarch is in center of the city. If you give half day of your weekend, Iam sure your bike would be in good hands.

            2) PlanetDSG : Motorcycle Riding Gear, Accessories, Apparel and.. DSG - CAMP Pune, backside of Marzorin. Good for jackets and gloves

            3) Scoyco dealer - Mr. Baljeet Singh Kochhar Mob-9371031307. Not tried so cant comment.

            4) RJays dealer - Motoverse Shop No.3, Surya building, Opposite Sunshree Kangan, NIBM Road, Kondhwa, Pune - 411 048 Contact : Sohail + 91 9970717867 - Good for jackets.

I hope the above-mentioned information helps you out. Please keep checking Pune Thread, you can come for one of the g2gs where we would explain every detail about bike and gears face-to-face. Its easier this way so that your doubts are cleared then and there.

Not faced any of such problem, warm up your engine in the right manner and the poured engine oil should do its magic. I might shift to mineral oil because of rising temperatures. 20W50, one of the our Pune members is using it, good review.

Now, forget about what the woman did da. You are a man no? Real rider no? How come you didn't even notice her coming into your path let alone being able to brake effectively in time?

Sorry for being blunt. There are no excuses in riding, if you screw up you could end up injured, dead or maimed for life.

Bottomline: You have to account for other peoples stupidities on the road. And, you have lots to learn!
Thank you all for your concern.. And incipient i didnt have time to do all these. As far as i remember this is what happened.. I was cruising in a national highway at 80kmph. Saw people waiting for crossing and all where waiting since many vehicles are passing along with me. Still i slowed down a but to 70kmph on seeing the crossing and then when i reached the start of the crossing a women suddenly ripped her scooty into the highway. I just pulled the brake lever ,that's it i hit her hard and went flying. So imagine there is not even a second for me to react to the situation. I guess she pulled the throttle accidentally while waiting.. And till now i dont know how i escaped with minor scratches.. But sadly my ride didnt have the luck i had i guess it will be back in 20 days as good as new

But sadly my ride didnt and it got a lot of major body damages
22k spent on it totally......but the job done to the best level...and am a happy man now

                  • Guys my front Brake lever is Bent, So they are replacing it. Does it require draining of brake oil to replace the lever?? Just want to know bcz am scared about how good they will bleed the brake lines if it requires draining of brake oil. And if anyone knows the cost of R15 badge on silencer let me know.. Thanks

                      • hello R15 owners,
I am a new member here and very glad to see the r15 gang.Though little off topic, there is no other place where i can get my confusions cleaned. I am 6.2 weigh around 95kgs and 30 years old. I am in the market for a bike and currently own the humble gladiator. the problem is i cannot get my eyes off the thundering green R15. now can i join this club, will this bike suit me? i will be using this bike for commuting and occasional touring. I live in a rural part of country without much traffic and my wife will be the only pillion. Is there any tall members like me in this group? wish to get some honest replies, and happy riding.

OMG!!! Dude your wife as a pillion?? First of all did you see the bike She'll hate the bike if at all you manage to get her on board other than that everything is fine.. It will suit you and i guess roads are good in your area.. If not please think again,Its not a commuter bike to ride on bad roads at 30-40 kmph with frequent gearshifts and dont expect it to perform everyday tasks like getting vegetables, going to market...etc :P You'll just hate it if you do so So if you want a bike for all these Think again, else Go for it

                          • oh oh, so the pillion seat is really that bad, otherwise roads are not that bad in my area. Is the low end torque extremely low? Like u said that its pain to ride in 30 or 40kmph.

It has good low end torque, but bad roads with potholes and frequent gearshifts will be tiring. And yea the pillion seat is just for emergency and you'll not feel comfortable to drive with a pillion, even worse if the pillion is heavy as they will keep on sliding over you every time you brake. So imagine a bad road with potholes and riding with a heavy pillion..Hectic And more important R15 hates pillion It just loves to Cruse with its Rider So think before you buy and later don't regret. If you are Ok with all these and it fits your need,Go for it. It will put a smile on your face whenever you ride her

                              • hey thank you for your reply. The roads are not that bad in my area, but i am worried about the pillion seat now. Can it be moded someway? Also is it really that painful to ride in 40 kmph? That means no low rpm torque?
