You are in one tempting situation man..

Have not heard of anything like this before...AFAIK you get to see your vehicle, have your own PDI and then pay in full if your satisfied with the bike..If you are comfortable with the dealer go ahead with it, else I would recommend staying back..

I have paid only 1K as booking amount. In any case, I have never witnessed booking amount > 5K for <=250cc bikes (maybe with the exception of the Ninja)..

Well, I thought as much too. So, I asked the guy and he replied that "It'll be no problem. Even the old R15's LE parts are still available". Makes sense but here's the catch... What's the point in simple parts like the side fairing being available if they're gonna take a month getting them! It is a big con indeed. And as recent events turn out to be (and that's a lot) I'm somehow being put off the LE.

Well, the dealer is trustworthy. I got my Fazer through him and he was very co-operative so far. BUT the thing is, after a week or two from now, this agency won't be here anymore and someone else will be holding the franchise as the current one is just a branch of the dealer in Karnal. PLUS, its not about the dealer. What if the bike's got some problem and the Panchkula guy intends to get rid of it or something?
      [P.S. I'm thinking too much, ain't I?]

I know, TeeJayy. The dealer is trustworthy, that much I know. But the guy won't even be here after a week or so, not even the mechanics. So won't it be better if I get the bike from the dealer who's gonna service and repair it for the bike's lifetime?

Yeah, the 10k were a tip-off so he'd get me the bike sooner while I changed the color choice 3 times! Someone in this thread mentioned Ghajini disease. Think I might've caught it while reading the post.
But jokes apart, it did get me on the top of the dealer's list.

I have a bad feeling about the whole thing.
I know i'm being a li'l too skeptical but you should cancel the booking. Have a feeling, the guy is gonna run away. Juz my thought.
          God be with you!

Have u spoken to the panchkula guy, btw? Talk to them..NOW!

The person stuck sponge on rear seat and then put on another cover over it...Pillion seat became quite comfortable so I tried with rider seat also and the result is amazing.. No pain in butts or the test'ies...Its very comfortable..
            Total cost : 240Rs.
Attached are the pics post extra cushion..Though the pics don't display rider's seat properly, I cant help it as I'm not with my bike so cannot take proper pics personally.

Now only task at hand is to get something for pillions to hold..Though I have an idea in mind, I would like inputs from other members so that I can try something concrete...So please guys contribute with some ideas..
Thanks for posting this buddy. The job done is pretty neat.
I have just one question.Since the rider seat has been padded up naturally the height must have increased. So how does this affect the overall posture.Has it altered a lot?

Safety doesn't happen by accident.....ride safe ride longer

Thanks..Yes the height has increased a bit but then its not too much when we sit so overall not major difference in posture..as the sponge is soft enough to press down while sitting..though after sitting on rider's seat post additional padding, there is less pressure on testies as earlier it used to press a lot against the tank but now its not so bad due to slight increase in height..but no problems in handling..

                      thanks
I did it on the V2.0

Osram hids in place of stock bulbs. No drain on the battery whatever

Costed me 8.5k for the hid and another 300 for installation

                      btw I stay in visakhapatnam

I heard that p8 is also a good brand along with philips and osram

Coz these brands will give you part to part replacement.

                      Thats all

                      Cheers and ride safe

                      • Crashed ......................

Went on a ride Yesterday Total 265 kms. 4 riders including me.

The Good : Superb road with lot of twisties.

The Bad : 2 riders crashed including me (Myself Little lapse of concentration and a high side crash. Saved by the riding gear. Confused where to go on a dividing road and a low side crash. The other rider)

The Ugly : Headlight cowl and the reflector damaged. Minor scratches on the right side fairing. Scratches on the silencer, but it was saved by the carbon fiber vinyl. Need a minimum of 4000 bucks to get these done. My bad

I was damn lucky to be alive as the place where I landed was loose gravel with a big Rock. Helmet front had visible scratches, Jacket entire right arm, and the right knee Jeans torn but the knee-pad saved my knee. I wear it under the jeans.

So GOD be with us as these days we see lot of riders crashing. Some rode after that, some could not, and some perished.

Ride Guys. But Safety comes first. You will never know what happens.

So the end result is, no matter where u go remember one thing, "All Gear All The Time".

                        Cheers and safe riding

                          • Ride safe guys, do wear your gears during rides and helmet atleast during city runs.

The thread seems doing good, just few months and i see a lot of posts.

Done 1800 Km on the LE, just a month old.
Touched 140 on way from Wai to Panchagani, done 143 on ver 2 of few friends.

The handling is superb, the thing bends like anything, i bet you can touch knees on every corner in lavasa.
Braking seems better then in ver1, hate the RVM's at time, but can not afford to let them go.
The rear seat is well, custom made for gf's who belive in PDA.

Can not afford HD's at this hour, but thinking of going for 55W atleast.

I noticed the horn goes wierd when you are on full beam, battery problem i guess. Is it just me ?

I find the clutch play a little free, again, is it just me ?

and last, the bike is not worth for off road trips, be ready to sacrifice your back in that case. :P

                            Ride On,
                            Akshat
                            Ride On,

Great to hear you walked away from the crash... ... any crash from which you can walk away is always considered as a good one (if there is no choice between crashing and not crashing).... About the riding gear, yes, it is very very true that riding gear is a very important part of safety, however, it is not the only aspect of safety... Constantly improving riding skills (it takes time and effort) and understanding the dynamics of the bike are equally important if not more important than riding gear. Understanding the limits of your riding skills, riding within them, and improving them in controlled conditions will go a long way to enhance safety.

You have mentioned lapse of concentration and confusion on where to go as the reasons for the crash. Well, both are cardinal sins in riding... first prevented you from noticing a potentially dangerous situation before it developed into a life threatening situation. Had you spotted it in time you would have taken steps to prevent the situation. The second part about being confused is a classic case of target fixation which led to the activation of 'freeze response' (also known as acute stress response). To prevent both these type of reposes requires constant practice and improving of riding skills.

After all the best crash is the one that never happened and thereby the one you never have to walk away from...
Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.
