I noted the details and asked at the service center (Kottayam, Kerala).
They haven't done this on an R15 yet.
But, checked for the parts in Yamaha's official spares&parts list online and it is all there.
Asked me to come another day and meet the Spare Parts Head and ask about it.

Will it be possible for you to post a picture of where the center stand is hinged/attached to the main frame? (so that I can make it clear to the mechanics if they decline to do it because they 'don't know').

Mine is one of the WGP 50th Anniversay Editions. Ran in 460kms as of now.
Did an oil change at 190kms. Wanted to replace the filter too, but it was out of stuck (duh!).
    Hi

    This is for your reference

        Thank you very much.
Will update how it goes here.

I turn it on and it lights up gleefully, does the self-check and stands by for ignition.
A wide grin appears on the humble needle's face; it knows what's coming - a joyride to the redlines.

The person stuck sponge on rear seat and then put on another cover over it...Pillion seat became quite comfortable so I tried with rider seat also and the result is amazing.. No pain in butts or the test'ies...Its very comfortable..
          Total cost : 240Rs.
Attached are the pics post extra cushion..Though the pics don't display rider's seat properly, I cant help it as I'm not with my bike so cannot take proper pics personally.

Now only task at hand is to get something for pillions to hold..Though I have an idea in mind, I would like inputs from other members so that I can try something concrete...So please guys contribute with some ideas..
Holy shit.. Thats a brilliant mod.. Look like the new cbz xtreme's seat.. And i hope its only as soft and comfortable.. Even if that wont be visually just to the pillion seat,it looks fantastic on the riders..

          • Got my RD..

            Guys,
Finally after 4 months of wait, Got my RD (Red Devil- Fiery Red LE)..

Although I'm getting used to riding, a slight wrist and back pain does exist, but its way too lesser than what I had expected.
The gear shift also seems to be great, and by what I've read here, It'll become better after the 1st service..

Have completed 160 kms on the Odo, now wish to go for the oil and oil filter change. Just want to confirm that it uses semi-synthetic oil, right?

            The initial run-in period is
Hard to control the Revs.. Used to RX na!

Although the basics are known, I just want to ask this once again:

If I keep the revs between 3- 4 K RPM, on 5th & 6th gears, is there any harm?

            Kindly guide me.

            Ride safe,
            Shreyas

              Congrats on the ride.!!

The same fear haunts me!! Since its a four stroke it should not be as sensitive as a two stroke. So try to maintain the specified speed in the correct RPM. I have heard that occasional bursts did not harm..but pls be careful with wrists, Since i felt this bike is as peppy as our RX in first two gears!
Rx is a Phoenix!!! It always rise from ashes!!

                Hey,
                Thanks DPak!
Can anyone please tell me the appropriate speeds?
Till what speed can I take her now?

O.T: Feels good to ride an RX and a 15 side by side..

Try sticking to the RPMs rather than the speed.

Till 500km it is 5000 RPM although try to keep it around 4K cause when you target 4K you will hit 5K once in a while.

                  500 to 1000 it is 7500 RPM.

                    Hello ... Congrats ...

My personal opinion for engine oil change and oil filter change @ 160 kms is Useless ... you are just wasting your money .... Dude there would be no slack formation or any other particles would be present at the first 160 kms ...I mean the oil will be New..

My personal opinion is to change the Engine oil and Oil filter when you have completed 500 kms on the ODO ...........

Well , about the RPM limit , It is better to keep the Bike between 4 - 4.5 RPM for first 500 kms .. Speed doesn't matters .... Give break to your bike for few minutes , after riding continuously for 15 Kms .... And You just Gradually Rev. the bike till 7.5 k RPM in each gear after you have completed 500 kms on the ODO ... Maintain this RPM limit till 1000 kms and shift the gears frequently and don't give prolong acceleration and vary the speeds ...........

I guess some of my points might have helped you

                    " peace "

The query about the Oil is still unanswered! Anyone?

So , it doesn't really matter if I reach 65 at 4K RPM..

And You just Gradually Rev. the bike till 7.5 k RPM in each gear after you have completed 500 kms on the ODO ... Maintain this RPM limit till 1000 kms and shift the gears frequently and don't give prolong acceleration and vary the speeds ...........
Hmm.. So vary the acceleration and speeds.. On the highway, say change gears once in a while and decelerate and then again pick up some speed!
