@Archi,

You did receive a call from SS, in my case I think after looking at the spreadsheet they wld have thought to play safe and not to call me up as they have already faced the sweet music volleyed to them regarding my first R15. And a problem of this magnitude with 2nd R15 they surely know I will make them sit on a donkey with face colored black and marched at the trumpets sound towards CMH road.

I also bet at least ORION guys don’t have the guts to call me back, as it was a head to toe competition between them and me when my rear hyd. Disc brakes failed completely to operate a couple of months back.

After looking at the spreadsheet they should have at least contacted everyone. I very well remember how aggressive they were about selling the bile when I was out of town, they used to call me twice a day almost everyday, what happened now??? I think many of us did not receive any call from them, anyways I will try getting it fixed from Panache on my 3rd Servicing on 30th Dec.

Yamaha, the wood is lovely dark and deep and you better continue to sleep!!!

Just gave my bike for tappet valve adjustment. I'll be at panache from 2 onwards to personally oversee the work.

@amit + anyone else : join me if you want to. They can take more pics of the rust etc. I'll most likely be shifting to BW for the next service.

@ digislayer- Thanks for your input man. Appreciate your help.

@ santoosh- Thanks for your feedback. I did some research on the both the plugs that you recommended and the website said that the plugs improve your throttle response and smoothen your ride. As you have been using them for a while, did you notice these changes? As for your speed remark man, I am really happy with what my bike has achieved so far I was just curious if these plugs can help better its initial response.

Dude, you should never a expect a huge difference in the power output of a stock engine just because of changing to a better spark plug. The advantages you can expect are:
1)Better performance at higher RPMs.
2)Longer life of the plug when used at higher RPMs.
3)Longer life of the plug when used at extreme load conditions.
4)More precise engine firing, especially at high throttle conditions. This might in turn lead to better maintenance of the engine.
5)A slightly better fuel efficiency(maybe too less to be noticed).
6)Cleaner emmissions.

Hope this clears your doubts And yes, I do recommend upgrading to better spark plugs on the R15. That's because it has a higher compression than other similar bikes of our country, it runs at a LOT higher RPM than other similar bikes of our country. I can explain you how it works if you want me to, but i'm not sure if it'd be OT :P

i ride at pretty high revs generally shift only at 8500+ so will a spark plug change be advisable..becoz im worried about teh longevity of teh engine by placing it under stress...at teh same time dont want to play safe as teh reason for getting teh bike will be lost if i have to shift at low revs..

@digislayer where can i get better spark plugs in hyd?

Dude, I'm not quite sure about the magnitude of longevity of engine life that a better spark plug adds. But I guess the R15's Diasil cylinder material should be good enough to handle revs of 10k RPM. The R1 is made of the same cylinder material and works at 14k RPM, at a much higher compression. So I'm guessing our R15 cylinders should last longer than an R1's cylinder even at stressed conditions

Regarding the advantages, I slightly edited my previous post..go through it again. And I guess you get performance spark plugs at almost any good automobile shop. Try koti, minister's road, etc
