if every city needs this tool . I can order it in bulk so that the cost can be reduced. If the tool is ordered in bulk the price can be reduced drastically . min order is 4-5 pieces. Think its worth it.

pricing for bulk ( Rs Pricing )
2 FIDs = 10k each excluding shipping
4 FIDs = 9k each + shipping Free ( this is a good deal )

one of my friends in pune who is a mechanic has confirmed that he is buying 1 fid . so now need more 3 orders to get the pricing down.

guys think in these terms . The AFM can be changed with this tool and it can diagnose if any sensors are dead / malfunctioning . The Yamaha SS guys are useless when it comes to diagnostic. And Yes cant expect to get performance by just changing things in the bike . its a lengthy procedure but we can figure a way out whats the best way to get some more juice out of it. Am going to get hold of joel & killer so that we can make use of this tool and see what are its capabilities.

I will be putting up some more details regarding what sensor is where and how this tool is useful.
Its really a nice idea. But I do not think just altering the AFR will be enough. As the performance increases there might be other parts also to looked upon, for ex: the exhaust system. How do we get that?

Anyhow, I am not an expert. All I want to say that if there is a requirement to change/mod other stuffs we cannot get a market support as nothing is available.
It would be a nice idea to talk to killer or joel who could really say something about it. Theres no point changing the AFR and neglecting other changes and killing the engine's life.

I am waiting for more inputs................

^^^ this is only a diagnostic tool and one that every service center should have had. You are not going to tune your bike's performance with it.

Post Milage check

As the milage polls are going on,just thought of posting my milage figure as i m surprisd by the figres my R15 is dilivering.

Best tll now:54km/l

currently:fluctuating between 47km/l-52km/l,thoug getting over 50 for the past 1 week.I ride an averag of 45km a day in which 40% is on Highway and 60% in city.

worst i got was 28km/l for the first time i refilled her during run in.So a drastic change since then.
Anybody else who is getting these kind of figures??

Want Petal Discs (a-la RTR) for your R15?

Look here -

eBay India: PETAL ROTOR DISC BRAKE FORYAMAHA YZF R15 (item 270360918532 end time 18-Apr-2009 18:04:34 IST)

Posting this just for information. I seriously doubt if these discs match the ones on the R15 in size... and the same guy was selling the same thing for FZ16 too

Looks good!

But I have my doubts if this thing will offer the same performance levels as the OEM parts!

performance should be considered if it fits properly... that guy didn't even mention the disc sizes... and he was selling the same thing for FZ16 too.

I thought no point posting such a thing here but then may be it makes some unassuming xBhpian to think before falling for this...

How long have you been riding R15? Initially the console does not shows correct results.

28 to 54 is a lot of variation! The variation between full ripping, normal city riding&highway riding should be at the max 10-15% IMO.
In my case, it is:
During run-in: 38
City (normal riding): 43
Highway (sedate cruising between 80-100): 48
Highway (full ripping): 38
What do others say?

37 to 44 KMPL is my range. Generally between 39 and 42 KMPL.
