![]() The load on the bike also does, bacause whenever I carry my laptop bag with me, the handling is a bit twitchy! No blaming the bike for that though.. ![]() & regarding the increase in FE, do you mean due to the right air pressure, or with completion of run-in? (I have completed 400 Kms on the bike, in 10 days) Quote:
![]() & regarding the initial run-in, keep the bike under 4k RPM (60Kmph) for the 1st 1000 Kms, & don't exceed 5-7k RPM (100 Kmph) for the 1000-2000 Kms mark.. Its very important to obtain optimum engine performance in the future & for long engine life.. ![]() My bike too is just 10 days new (not old ).. & I'm strictly following the above RPM & Speed limits.. Suggest you too follow it.. ![]() Quote:
![]() BTW, Adway is from Pune na.. Inviting him to Mumbai huh!

@Adway: Congrats on your crossing the 10K mark. I assume you have got your air filter, spark plug&oil filter replaced?
Please let us know what other parts you have got replaced/set&when i.e. brake pads, tappets etc. Also, comment on the overall vehicle condition when it was new vis-a-vis now. By saying this I mean vibes, smoothness, handling, tyres, pickup, mileage etc. I know its a lot to answer but I'm at around 7K&from my past experience, I know that the most enjoyable part of a bike's life lies between the 10&30K mark.

I had to change the rear breakpads at 7000km. I used to apply rear-breaks extensively in those days. After getting advised on this thread many times, I changed it to front breaks. No damages on those as of yet. Never had any issue with any other spare. Bike has been giving uniform feel in vibes, smoothness & handling since the opening period is over. Never extra vibes, same smooth feel & awsome handling. There was a period when I was having trouble in city-traffic, when I used to slow down & pick-up again. It used to feel like the bike was not responding as quickly, & giving a jerk, but it was corrected, when idle rpm was increased. Tyres seem to be in excellant shape. Not much wear & tear seen on those. & haven't felt a difference on road. I think that pick-up has gone down a 'bit', as it's taking a bit more time to reach 130 from 125, but I guess there are reasons for that (chain-slack, my disinclination to stay in same gear till 10.5k etc). I was getting pretty low milage in early days, but now, we've settled for 45 kmph on highway. & it's not lot to answer . Given that all you guys have always answered all the querries, I guess, it's everybody's duty to submit detailed report. Thanks for 'making' me write this post.

![]() @Adway: Thanks for the detailed report. My rear brakes are also due for replacement in ~1k kms. while the front ones are almost new. I know it is due to my riding style (my older bike's disc is virtually non-existent). Mine has a weird ticking problem in the rear disc area, which needs to be checked at the next service. Rest everything is butter smooth.

),spark plug changed. No tappets adjustments done - Y touch when no problems there changed front disc pads....rear will hold on till 15 k easily the bike sort of becomes more grunty after 10 k.Its a nice noise though and makes you feel good. smoothness ,handling impeccable as ever. Have a issue now which developed 500 kms back that the front tyre bounces unnaturally now.will get it thoroughly checked in next servicing. @adway:Hope you got my PM.

Hey Sunny, which projectors are you using? I too had an idea of using the 220's low beam set, only with the R15's 35W bulb. Have to procure a low beam set. Heard thats very costly. And it comes along with the 55w bulb. Any takers for a P220 55w bulb?
![]() On a more serious note, I think after transparent visor is out (remove 4 screws and the mirror nuts), you can remove the front mask (the one that has the headlights)? I'll have to check. then the headlight comes off.... My friend's bike had the mask removed, and it was looking quite good! R6 like (with segmented headlight units!!) |
