Tip of the Day

Closing speed...Watch it!

Keep your speed-check on when moving through slow or stationary traffic. Closing speeds can be grossly misleading and an erroneous assessment is recognized usually too late for corrective action.

    Thumbs up

Hearty congrats Nithesh! Nice photos too.
That smell is normal for a new bike. The engine internals are starting to set in

P.S. Try to replace oil & filter @ 250kms (yup, before the first service). Would help to clear out the metal residue pretty well.
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

bro i had learnt stoppi and rolling stoppi on stock ones but its too dangerous. then i have always used mrf zapper fs 90-90-17 front with which i easily could do 30-35 metres rolling stoppi. But now i have stopped stunting since 3 months.

Get suggestion from SVC guys , they know better.
Front fork oil level also need s to be checked.
And this is a common prob in RTR , check your keychain for any metal/solid parts which might cause the sound as well

checked as front pistons were changed under warranty for some upgraded part or something. after that only the problem started if i remember.

Anyways don't you think 32F, 36R is too much. If I fill 32 in rear, I can't control the bike as it skids everytime I use rear brake.

@shiwaan can you do me a favour?
Can you check the price of Zapper Vyde [120/80-17] from your nearest MRF dealer?
    Also, is pirelli available there?

Anyways next time it happens one more thing to checklist to check for.

Not front & rear , wrt to singles and doubles for rear.
If you ride single most of the time 28 is fine.
For front 26 is perfect, if its increased you will feel all the potholes even the tiniest ones.

    Congrats !
what about the perfect pressure in rear ?28-32?

Guys, although i don't participate much in the issues here on xbhp but a regular reader of the threads. i need your opinion regarding a issue i am facing with TVS people.
I met with a small accident on 4th feb 2012 and my RTR180 met with some damages to front part. Gave my bike to Oceanic TVS,ahmedabad because i purchased my bike from there. It took hell lot more than that to get my bike fixed from them as they were always delaying and not behaving properly. After 20 days when i got to know they haven't even started with the repairing process i finally mailed higher TVS officials and finally that led to my bike getting delivered to me after 25days.Problems didn't end there because bike was having various problems such as horn, headlight not working at times, tachometer not functioning, thud sound from back of the bike every time it went over a speedbreaker and the handle alignment not at all right. I again got it all rectified arguing with these people. Got my bike back and got it checked with a personal mechanic regarding wobbling front wheel and i came to know the rim is bent and TVS didn't changed it even though it was on the list of insurance approval. i got pissed and went back to them. Again took the trouble of going through with the argument and finally got it changed. And the biggest part, yesterday came to know at a puncture shop that my RTR180 has been fitted with a tube during the time they changed the front rim and the mechanic showed me tube had no company name, was of size bigger than the tyre and even that work wasn't done properly.I lost my patience and told the director of showroom and the workshop people that enough is enough. Even the service head of TVS,Gujarat called me trying to convince that i should not go and complaint in consumer forum and this all can be fixed today and i'll send personnel to get it fixed.

Guys i have been through mental harrasment of more than 1 and a half month and havent been able to get my RTR back to the way it was. I have tried to put my story in as short as possible so you can imagine what kind of experience it has been. Please guide me what should i do?

Even I've experienced somewhat similar after sales service of TVS. TVS SVCs are bullshit. Kinda regretting my decision that I opted for TVS instead of Honda.

Any one from Pune knows any good mechanic who'll be able to fix my RTR160? It's having various issues which I've already mentioned earlier in this thread. TVS SVCs are pathetic.
