Good to see so much activity in a new ownership thread & kudos to TVS for making the bike available immediately after the launch because last time after the RTR Fi was launched it took some time to reach the dealers.

Btw can any owner confirm whether this bike has DC lighting or not?

It is one of the major -ve's. What extra features does the RTR 180 have over the RTR 160, except the extra 20cc? Hardly anything. They should have added DC lighting to it. TVS has to learn from Bajaj, even the P150 has DC lighting and this flagship TVS does not have it.

I feel with the launch of the 220 with a killer price tag Bajaj is teaching the other companies a lesson. TVS better wakeup, look what they have done to the flame, they have literally killed it themselves. They had an opportunity to refresh it and they have just launched a recolored bike, with a few engine tweaks.

XCD 125 doesnt have it for the headlamps bro. Only for the Pilot lamps,LED tail, Number plate lamp.

Oops, I thought it has it. My bad, but still the latest P150 has it.

All bikes (of all brands) that I know has a battery, have their Pilot Lamps, Tail Lamp and Turn Indicators connected directly to the battery.

The XCD 125/135 and even the Platina 125 does have DC lighting for its headlamp.. just that to protect battery from draining accidentally, the headlamps do not function if the engine is not running.

On the Pulsar 150/180 UGIV, P220 DTSi/DTS-Fi, the headlamps comes on for around 5-6 secs and automatically switches itself off if the engine is not running. This is again done to prevent from battery drain.

The RTR runs only horn+indicators from battery. Rest run from the magneto's AC power!

Payeng :- thank for clarifying. If bajaj can, why not TVS provide DC lighting, that too on their flagship model

dude DC is not a thing RTR needed BADLY and PURISTS of it were waiting for it like mAD....
cuz the kinda comparo u stated above thn on what grounds P180 betters P150 apart from tht 30 CC's and 2-2.8 more PS....

but yes BAJAJ will KILL FI and RTR as it has launched 220 with almost 22 PS and tht to with 70000 ex showroom price tag.......

most of the power and torque will be produced at higher RPM's and tht makes RTR's a sluggish bike to ride in the traffic at lower RPM's as one tends to fight to keep it at the lower gears hence the 'powerband'.......

Why not DC? There are so many guys here trying to install a HID in their bike and struggle to install it just coz of lack of DC power supply. Looks like you never ride at night.
