+1 but i'm not able to find it in 110\80 size.....

i had the Q in my fiero it's very good tyre both in wet as well as in dry....
i think p220 dtsi sports the same compond as in r15,,,i'm not sure about it but tht's what guys at overdrive indicated.....

it is a HUGE shame how bad the tyres are, anyone who hasn't changed them simply doesn't know what the rtr is capable of.

remember ate 180's tyres have TVS written on them.......

i agree the RTR is capable of shreddin the hell outta it's peg provided with sticky rubber....

hmm, if you think the Q is good enough then that should be the best bet.

i've seen the geo-cruiser in 100/90 and 120/80. not sure about 110 sizes.

best thing about the p220 is that the front is 90/90. so we wont have to settle for the 80/90 r15 front and will still get a great compound.

i will be buying an Apache 180 within the next two weeks. but what im seeing here is people talking about how bad the stock TVS tyres are. So what do u guys suggest? Should i change the tyres? I will only have money to change the rear one while buying the bike so will that be sufficient? And how will the R15 rear tyre be?

I also had almost same doubts though I am not sure if I'll really get a bike (as my parents got dead against the bike and asking to buy a car instead ).
Though R15 tyre is supposed to be great but it is 10cm wide instead of stock 110cm. How about 80/120 MRF vyde, will it fit? How's that tyre overall? Looks good .. but any first hand exp.?

R15 tyre will give you better grip but you will lose out on some height because of the lower aspect ratio and the tyre would also not go well with the bike as far as looks are concerned(read:thinner)!!

My advice would be ride the bike with the stock tyres for couple of thousand kms, if you are a good rider than you can easily make out what to do and what not to do.I hope you got the drift!!

+1

beside how would you know the benifit of the new tyre (R15) if ur using it from the word go. Use the stock tyres for couple of thousands of kms and then shift to r15 tyres.....u'll rediscover RTR and u'll be excited again

Lolz, loads of tyre discussions going on the Apache thread!

My 0.02 rupees.... A tyre is as bad is the rider! You have to know the limitations of your tyres and be within those boundaries. Pushing the envelope of performance of the tyres and a resultant crash is entirely the fault of the rider.

I do agree TVS tyres are sucky, I too felt the difference when I changed my Dio's MRF's to TVS. But it would be too much expect of a tyre to grip as much in gravel and water as much as it grips on dry tarmac. If one wants grip in either of the above conditions it would be better to switch to a tyre more suited to the purpose.

With regards to dry tarmac grip of the Apache tyres, I feel its pretty damn good.

If one can conclusively blame the tyres as the sole reason for falling of a biike then I guess TVS can taken to court!
