Default Bike got screwed :(

Guys gone for a long trip and when returning back came to know that my bike's heart is slowly and slowly dying.
Went to a long 1200+ kms hill trip and while returning heard weired metal crankling sound from the engine. It was late at night and still had to cover 300 kms to reach home. Looked for a doctor to show her but all in vain.
So ride her back to home with fear in heart that she can give up anytime in the middle of long lone highway but she didnt. Reached home and shown to a mech, he said there is no Engine oil and the bike is running completely dry and can seize anytime.
The first thing came in mind WTF , howcome this happened. It was 2k kms since last engine oil change or the TVS SVC didn't put any engine oil after gear bearing work.
I felt like for all these 2k kms i was slow posioning her. I was such a fool that neither bothered to check the engine oil in the whole trip even once .
I was riding her hard all this time and she never shown a sign of her sufferings.
Took her today to TVS SVC, was so pissed off that i would have hit hard the mech who have worked on her last time. Somehow controlled.
The mech there checked the exhaust and found thick carbon deposits in the exhaust and said, all the engine oil might have burnt along with fuel.

I told them that i got done all bike services from there SVC and they should have checked the things and they again started giving there lame excuses like it happens with time and all those bu**s**t.
Later they said Cylinder kit need to be changed(which will be under warranty) but i have to wait for some 15+ days, as like always, the things are not in Stock .

I am still waiting for replacement of rear left shocker which is even after 10 days waiting not in stock.

They dont even keep the bare minimum requirement parts
Now i have to again go through the tiring process of running
For the time being they are going to put engine oil and suggested me to ride less and keep a check on engine oil level.

Guys is there anything else or any other part could have damaged badly along with the cylinder kit which i could get replaced?

The only thing which is positive here is because of my regular servicing, dont have to pay for the parts but have to pay for the labour only.

It seems to me as a never ending iterations with the SVC.
Hoping for good and lets see what comes up next.

PS: Guys keep a check of the thick carbon deposit inside the exhaust as the above can happen with anybody who is getting bike serviced from SVC.

^^ EXACTLY what happened to me three weeks back!!!! Down to the last oil change!!!
Bro..... find out what all has been damaged. In my case, the cylinder kit and crank. They are to be replaced. Like you said, no spares. Been waiting for them for three weeks now. Today they said crank has arrived, but cylinder kit is on the way.

And better DONT ride it! I dont know what sort of cruel ppl they are asking you to keep riding it!!!! Modern-age man-eaters maybe!! HUH.

Also, the culprit could be the valve guide oil seal. Get it checked/replaced. BTW, what oil were you using? How much on the odo?

What is the acceptable level of oil or minimum so that these things can be avoided ?

You can use the dip stick to check the level of oil. It should be within the hashed area.

Brother i have been using TVS engine oil only on every service and the bike has clocked 20k kms. The SVC mech didnt open the engine, they just heard the sound and as i told them that there is no engine oil, they checked it too and just said the cylinder kit need to be replaced.

They didnt check anything else for the time being.
But I have doubt that may be other parts also got damaged. Now while riding bike is making to much crankling sound.

One more thing is that, i dont understand, where the whole litre of engine oil disappeared. Never saw any black smoke nor the engine oil is leaking to much from the seals.
And it is also very difficult to digest that they never put any oil and the bike sustained for 2k kms before this breakdown.

They told me that parts wont be available before 15 to 20 days(will be coming from Chennai). Its ridiculous man.
I am damm pissed off and thinking of writing to TVS officials for this huge delay and some of the SVC staff.

I am still not able to figure out whats gone wrong even after regular services and stoke condition.

@lijok have you talked to any higher officail regarding this delay in parts?

You have suffered the same fate as lijok ...long drives at high RPM had led to the engine oil being consumed....
Ask the Mechs to check for Crankshaft bearing wear out...A bearing which runs at high revolution without lubrication is bound to wear and get damaged...

@flyingJian - open you Aix filter box and see if there is any oily deposits at the bottom of the box.

Also, if there is smoke in the exhaust, they dont need to open up the engine to know that the piston rings are gone and cylinder wall is scored badly.
and yeah, the crankshaft also needs to be checked. Most probably that will also need to be replaced.

And let me repeat, dont ride the bike in present condition. It will only cause more harm.

Yes i use to ride at high RPMs in long stretches and have seen the effect of that on Cylinder gasket(oil deposits).

Recently i got gear bearing changed from SVC. I have to again go to the SVC and get the Crankshaft checked.
Thanks for the above information guys.

Cool Finally Mine...

Hi Guys,
I got my White Menace today! I'd like to thanks each one of you who has posted here, as I went through almost 200+ pages of this thread before I booked the Apache RTR 180.
The bike was delivered to me yesterday at 7PM and I only managed to ride it for 1.5 KMS as I had to go to office (TVS showroom is right in front of my office ). Finally found time today morning and rode the bike for 45 kms(Check out the pics below !!). I have just one thing to say.. WOWWW !!! What a bike it is! But the speed restriction (until 1000 kms) is killing me. Anyways, patience is what I need. I will post on my experience about a week or so from now. Until then, Happy and Safe riding to me and all the RTRians !!
