As riding a MOFA was really Cheaper than walking...I rode it none stop to my house & lifted to the drawing room

The first batch of Mofa's Engine side covers was the Alloy ones like this>>( later these alloy was replaced by Plastic stuffs-->

Hitodi was manufactured in North India, but this>>>>> was manufactured at Chennai, purely Indigenous machine, however it had some mix-n- match parts from the rival Moped manufactures of that period .

A ROLA (e)X Head Light, it resembles TVS,but bit little bigger,...resembles HH, but little smaller ...but it shared the " agricultural tiller light" of that period

                  Well tried brother!!
But it is not DART , I told you this is from Tamil Nadu...so it has to be either " Venky Moped" or "Mayuram moped", any way VENKY was too skinny machine almost a " motorized Bi-cycle.
This is " MAYURAM MOPED", by Tamil Nadu Mopeds ltd., Guindy, Madras ( Chennai)
Frank just note the main Chassis of the Moped, it resembles the early '60 s Honda CR type..quiet interesting ain't it ??
VIN plate right on the Instrument console >>

Any way one more pic of the Moped, just to learn the chassis>

@ Frank: have you heard of " AGV"- Automatic Gearing Variator, if not or wish to see or hear..plz wait for few days...but that is not AGV system found in Sportif ( a complicated thing)..this one was simple..Guess what??

Wow this is news to me, i never heard of this Mayuram moped. may be it was never marketed outside Tamilnadu.

Yes it resembles the Honda's "back bone" chassis with the engine as a load bearing member

No, i'v not heard of the AGV, but what i see from this Mayuram moped's engine is a centrifugal clutch coupled to a bigger wheel with a v- belt, like Suvega's very simple auto-transmission.

                      Oops!!
Sorry Frank, just I have confused you by saying just " AGV", So you thought this Mayuram Moped had that kind of arrangement, it is like of Suvega , as you said!!
But I had the intention of saying my recent acquisition, which has a AGV set -up, but not complicated like of Sportif or Kinetic Honda, simple & innovative....but even results was simple...at last was chucked out of the early '80's Indian Moped market !!...
                      Now guess WHAT???
is that Moped (my new addition) !!!

I think its the Hercules bicycle with ralli engine released in early 80's?

BTW did u stumble upon the ELECTRO 35 (first ever battery bike in India) which was sold in small quantities in the early 80's? this bike had two standard 12V car batteries fitted at the floor board in a huge box and the drive motor resembled a car's self motor fitted behind its rear axle. i searched a lot about this bike in the net, but found nothing.

#*As you aware of i have that Motorized Bicycle " Hercules Bicycle powered by Ralli India 30cc mill"
but that is the age old centrifugal expanding clutch as like our Suvega s & H.Majestics

#**Honestly speaking I never heard about that kind of Beefy Electro Bicycle!!
But I do remember at mid '80 s, a Coimbatore basedcompany UMS,belonged to the famous GEE DEE Group, developed a Electric powered Bi-Cycle, but not with robust batteries and stuff....it was as cute as present day Electric Bikes ( but not with so much frill & thrill)
'am not sure it was marketed or not, but many Bicycles was produced and was used by their own Employes.

Actually this ELECTRO 35 is not a motorized bicycle, its front end & lot of other chassis parts are from 1980's TVS-50 moped (first TVS-50). it looked like a proper moped.

I mentioned it because i want to see it in your stable, as its such a great feat for an Indian manufacturer to produce an Electric bike back in the Early 1980's
