Royal Enfield has released a series of videos and photos of Himalayan on its official website and youtube channel. From the videos bike seems to be a promising middle weight adventure tourer motorcycle.
One of the Video features CS Santosh, India’s only rally raid rider testing an early stage prototype of the dual sport machine “Himalayan” and expressing his views on the off road capabilites of the bike. This film was shot during the extensive development tests in April 2015 of the pre-production Himalayan carried out at Santosh’s off-road training facility in Kolar, Karnataka.
CS Santosh said – “Most of the time you have motorcycles that do well on the street but as soon as you take them off road, they don’t seem to fit in. I was surprised because I think it felt natural to be off-road as well. Just the way it was sitting between my legs it felt good because I’ve been used to rally bikes and it didn’t feel strange at all. For a common man, it will not be intimidating at all as the power is their but its not going to be aggressive .”
Royal Enfield Himalayan will be officially unveiled on 2nd February 2016, a day before Auto Expo’16.
The Adventure touring motorcycling lovers in India have been looking for a good sub 500cc bike for a long time now. If priced well Himalayan can not only expect a rage in the Indian market, but overseas as well.
