Next incident(s) is the opposite side of the coin. Many r15, ninja and cbr owners face the issue of being asked how they moded a pulsar..

Well

Me in garage. 40 something gentleman walks in. Says that he wants a "modelling" bike.. Sees the body kits available... Buys one for 15k. Gives money for fitment.. Mech asks for the bike to be graced with the body kit... Guy says: oh ya... Forgot about that.. Walks in to hh showroom. Buys a cd delux. Hands over the keys to the mech and leaves..

Feel free to laugh at this gentleman's insanity..

It's been 5 days since I become a roadside mechanic, let me share some of my experiences

The second day at my workshop a guy came on a FI stunner and insisted that I clean and adjust the carb, he was a little bit drunk so I did not say anything, I just cleaned and adjusted the chain, lubed the gear shifter pivot point and cleaned the air filter and charged him 150 rupees

Another guy came looking for used engine oil, when I asked why, he said he would pour it on the shoulder of the oxen he has. The oxen that draws cart or plows the field gets wound on their shoulders and to stop the flies they pour engine oil on the wound, very cruel and inhuman practice IMHO.

Another guy who came to change oil of his P135LS said 200NS is a copy of the 135LS and all engine parts are interchangeable, the same guy also claimed his Pulsar gives 80kmpl after he installed "ken" (K&N) filter.

And the most common one I hear around is, Duke is a modified FZ and it's being manufactured by Mahindra

Well here's one from me....2 days back when i was sitting with my friends and talking..one guy(actually a friend's friend) came along with his fazer and joined us....he saw my r15v2 parked by the side and started commenting about it

Guy: Yaar why did u buy this bike...it's a total waste...it does not have any pillion comfort

Me: No problem...i like to ride solo

Guy: hmm....but this thing does not have any speed at all....my bike(fazer) can reach around 115 on 2nd gear itself and has a top speed of 170kmph and your bike's rear section is dangerous..it may break and fall down like into 2 halves when a pillion is sitting

I was like

I felt like its better not to just say anything or else that idiot would continue with stupid arguments

Kid on R15 getting a k&n fff fitted(already had a dalda exhaust n 140 section rear)
Me: How will you increase the fuel flow to match the increased air intake?
College kid: Do the what to who now??
Me: are you need to increase the flow of petrol too na?? Upjet the bike?
Mech rushes in.
Mech: Are bhai, carboretor nahi hai, jet nahi hai isme.. Aise hi ho jayega..
Kid: Dudddeee, It is a sportbike... It will work just like that...

Me: :banghead: bhagwan, agle janam me kutta bana na... Atleast i will be as dumb as the other dogs...:banghead:

Doesn't the ECU automatically adjust the AFR to match the increased air intake.

+1. It does in all FI equipped bikes. One can't play with jets here.

When i was in tenth class,i had a #fenku friend,once he claimed that he stole a karizma,rode it at 200 km/hr (in delhi) then while he was riding at 200km/hr he saw a banyan tree approaching him,and being unable to brake in time,he just jumped off the bike and landed safely on road from 200km/hr,meanwhile karzima collapsed with the tree at 200km/hr and he ran away...

Being the owner of a Bajaj bike(the NS), I am pretty much used to hearing things like "Bajaj trash", "garbage", "waste bike", "copy cat of FZ, but FZ is still better", "will fall apart in months", "why you bought this?" etc etc.
