Never!

Not even a single time since the time I am in Delhi (since the year 2005). Although I have been stopped for regular checking, but I have NEVER been challaned for ANYTHING!

i bought my bike in July n got challaned this week for the First time in my life.

My pillion didnt have helmet n i didnt have licence .
Had 2 pay Rs 150

Three times in my life (so far

)

- I was 14 and riding my kinetic zx and cops challaned me for not having a DL , although i was with a helmet and all the other papers

(150 bucks)

- In bangalore when i took a U turn at MG road, and didnt see the "no u turn board"

(100 bucks)

- In bangalore when i was speeding at 110kmph at MG road (again

) around 6 am and was caught by a cop. (100 bucks)

**challan rates are varied due to haggling , bargaining etc etc with the respective cops at that point of time, the rates may have dropped now due to the economic depression

only one time on scooter when i was in the age of 12 ...Reason ( obviously with out licence )

I am riding bike from 2005 in Delhi, i was once chalaned in ghaziabad for jumping red light and not having licence. Even though i didn't have licence till today.

And Driving Car from 2006, and never been chalaned.

I agree that i have been caught around 10 times or more in checking (because not having licence). 1 time i have even given bribe Rs.100

3 red light jumping chalan by bike and 2 red light jumping chalan by car has been sent at my home. All 5 chalans were cancelled.

In about 6 years of riding i've been stopped only once for checking and never challaned! for anything!

I wouldn't be surprised if you get challaned more often! Riding without a driving licence is absolutely pathetic, according to me! Simply unacceptable.

i was caught day 1 when i got my p180 out of showroom. the mfb tulla didnt listen to me when i told him i am coming from the showroom. i even showed them all my papers. got a 100rs slip gracefully.
and now that i have lost my papers (all of them inc tax, ins, dl) i wrote in a complaint in police station. 500rs gone there too. and now when they catch me, the mfb's dont even bother checking the complaint form and the reciept which i got from the police station. in kannad they say, 'insurance ilva, engineeraaa, 200rs kudi!'. Translated as, 'you dont have insurance? you are an engineer aint you? gimme 200rs and leave!' ...and i end up paying 50rs. and thats everytime they catch from the last 2 months.

I got challaned once. It was not me. My friend took the bike and was riding it without helmet. The helmet was on his elbow rather than his head

. The cops caught him. And I had confused my car's insurance date with my bike's. So, karele pe neem chadh gaya. My friend tried to bribe him but those police walas were not in a mood to earn :P (read "were in a mood to work").

btw... in calicut kerala (my native), if you are caught without a helmet you pay 100rs. if you have one latkifying from arm -> 200rs fine!

and i heard now for every slip of 100rs police wala gives you, government pays them 10rs officially. true ?

Only once paid chalan, for wrong parking, 200 bucks.

4-5 times caught with fancy number plate, not carrying pollution certificate, not carrying insurance, not wearing helmet. All these times bribed and paid only 50 bucks.

I was challaned twice.

1st was when i was in my inter days. challaned for Riding in a one way road in the wrong direction, i was carrying a fish tank top and i did'nt have a license too. Cop stopped me and asked for my license....i had my bro's Learner license which i showed as fine. Was fined for Rs50 only

2nd time i was fined in a signal while waiting for the signal.

Reason......my front tyre was resting in the stopline

....where as there was atleast 3 cars and other bikes which were even ahead of me......had a big arguement with the cops. They fined me 200rs but after the arguement they reduced to 50rs

.....i mean WTF....are those fines really going to the government or to their pockets??

oh yaaa........i have paid bribes lot of times....least being 10rs and highest being 50rs
