Happened again on sunday after a really longtime!
Got my bike back from service after almost a week. Wanted to checkout its performance......wat better road do we have in hyderabad than the GMR airport road
Was doing abt 129-131kmph when the cops stopped me for the security check. 1st he appriciated for wearing riding gears......then he satrted their usual hungama......asked me wear i was heading i said nowhere....told him i was testing my bike for its topend...he was like......
showed him my license but i did'nt find the RC of my bike....i forgot to take it from the mech.......100rs traded under the table from 1000bucks

Once, for not wearing helmet and didn't take license as i went to a salon for a haircut some 2 km near my place. I told him i will come in 10 min with the license and helmet. took dad along with me and closed the case for 100 bucks.The rider doesn't pick the bike, the bike picks the rider

was caught by d cops on 25th dec 08 for not wearing helmet..
i was like wat??
around 10-15 of d personnel wer der..
since i live in a distant suburb of mumbai n d roads here dont deserve to b called as roads, i was pissed off..(read helmet rule didn't exist)
but he said dat i hav to pay rs100..
i din hav cash n went home n informed my cousin..
he came along wid me n chatted wid d cop..
d reply wat he got was d funniest part..
"yes, i saw d name n i tried stopping him but he had left for home already"
(actually dey wer trying to complete d year end quota)
but since den riding wid a cheap helmet n trying to get my hands on a daijya..

Only a couple of times I guess..as far as I remember...
As I stay 5 mins away from Shivaji Park, Dadar in Mumbai, when ever there's any sabha or bhashans to b held at shivaji park, they have check posts everywhere, specialy on Main roads here.
And when I had Activa, I used to ignore wearing a helmet and was chalaned by cops a couple of times.
But then since I bought my Pulsar 200..I was never pulled over by any cop..as I regularly used a helmet n still using..
When I was in Pune I was chalaned for entring a no entry zone..it was a one way.. But surprisingly there wasnt a single board saying it's a one way. I just tried to tell the cop bout no sign posting and it wasn't my fault but soon realised no point in arguing with these chaps. Payed the fine and left.
So total of 3 times in my entire biking history...Ketan Nikharge.

1. Stopped while riding in bombay, for not having ORIGINAL DL. fine was 600 and then reduced to 400 without any challan, then I realised fine for without DL is 300! He gave me 100 rs challan later and 300 went to his pocket
2. On the recent ride to Goa, 200 rupees to the collection box for not having Original Insurance and RC book.
Never fined in the state or in the south, guess must be some regional thing

YES. Unless you want trouble. In fact, prefer to carry the papers even if traveling within the state and away from your place. As per the rules you are supposed to carry the originals all the time and so the cops can grill you if they want to...Originally posted by jadhav92 View PostComment

me and my gf returned from a long ride on the highway and after we entered the city,i stopped on the left side of a road(with the hazard lamp on) for her to get off......she took out her helmet as she was stepping down...and that very second i heard the familiar thump of a bullet approachin....the cop came upto me and fined me for "the pillion is not wearing a helmet,fine lagega....bring out your DL...".......i tried to explain him politely the situation but he was adamant...god damn that cop.....he chalaned me a 100rs....

About 3 times onlee....
On all occasions was for not having "ALL" the documents or for having invalid documents.
But on one occasion, I was wrongly held on the allegation that I jumped a red light (I hadn't) and it led to an argument with the cops... they threatened to slap me with a 400Rupees Misbehaviour fine
I said ok then take the vehicle - I will go pay the fine in court.... and then he let me go.

hey friends..i just want to know that if a person is caught without a DL and i dont have brken any rules, then what i have to pay,i mean do i have to give fine to the police? or is it ok[with warning]? and yes i also want to know i am 16+ can i get learner's license for riding a bike?Speak Less,Speak Wise!
