i have been challaned only twice.. thankfully
once it was for tinted glasses on my car. the other time was the worst experience of my life. i got challaned for driving without dl, papers, helmet, insurance! that thulla said i'll confiscate ur scooter. i was in the 10th standard, n it scared the hell out of me. somehow i manged him to give me the challan. i forgot about the challan n some months later a thulla came to my place with an arrest warrant!!

i started crying like hell!! then my father went to the court the next day n paid the challan

I have been stopped once on my RX100, that i used to have, and they impounded the bike. Lol, in delhi, with wrong number plate, no papers, nothing, only DL, and without helmet. ( i had just purchased the bike three days ago).
Got it after three days finally.

Never been stopped on the Tbird, only once, when a cop wanted to check out what bullet it is, and why they are not issued such bullets.

Stopped once on the R15, for the sticker on the front fender number plate, but i argued that it came like that only, and i was let free.

I have been stopped once on my P220 a few days back. They gave a hand and i went to the side. Had helmet and gloves everything.
He said show your Insurance, i said yet to come new bike, he asked for RC, i said yet to come, showed him sale papers, asked for PUC and when he asked for DL and i was trapped, my DL is yet to be made. He said "Challan katata hoon tera", i said "Uncle, dekho helmet aur gloves pehne hain safety ke liye". He said you must be doing stunts and racing and thats why such stuff

He said he will challan 1500- without DL and letting bike to a minor, i dont look like a 18 er by face. I called my dad's friend as a last resort and he is an inspector Police HQ Delhi. Gave the phone to him and then he let me go.
I had just 500 rs in wallet and he was saying 1500
Got my RC papers and Insurance today, that thulla just stopped me for taking some money off.

Also i got a challan by post for my Santro- Reason: Crossing STOP line, how stupid is that. Have to pay 100rs.

LOL... IF you dont pay challan amount, they are forwarded to courts but arrest warrant, thats scary.

100/- for no helmet ride
100/- mobile phone use (actually they will charge 1000 for this, by cops influence it got reduced upto 100)
1000/- Over speed above 80+ in NH47
1000/- drunken drive.. but alcoholic % is less than 30ml. (filled my belly with 1 bottle beer) So they charged me and released...(Here also they will charge 3000 for this, by cops & advocate (one of the leading criminal advocate is my uncle) influence it got reduced upto 1000)
100/- One way entry...

In Kerala, Cops know that all having some political power. So when they caught anyone and taken to station, at first they will prepare the FIR and they will pass the information over wireless to get FIR no.. After this if anyone called for recommendation they will tell that FIR is prepared...

After paying 2300 to Kerala Police, stopped all even drunking, without helmet ride, wrong entry, high speed (sometime if see some good roads, will go upto 102km bcoz i own a FZ......

was stopped 3 times in 15 years on a bike.

First in Vizag - a stupid mistake. Was pushing my dad's Chetak on the wrong side of the road. No problem. I had to go back and take a right turn so was pushing the scooter. The signal to turn right went green and I was 5 meters away from that point - got on to the scooter, took the turn, got stopped for riding on wrong side. Had no money - gave license and came home. My uncle went to the cop at that junction and got the license back. Apparantly they both knew each other

Second - Mumbai - was riding an AP registered RX without any papers (were at home) but was fined for broken left RVM - Rs 100. Got away cheap - wonder how they didn't notice the number. Actually bargained the pay to Rs 30 but had nothing but a Rs 100 note in my pocket then. That's when I realized that it is an AP bike and came out of the scene ASAP.

Third - Mumbai - Was following a DCM to take right, didn't see the signal turn red (DCM fellow also jumped signal). Apparently a cop tried to stop me after the turn that I didn't notice in my attempt to cross the DCM. He followed me to my office after the next signal and demanded Rs 700. After some discussion I asked for chalan. He gave chalan for Rs 200 and took Rs 200

After 20 days i will turn 18 and will get the DL on 21st day, cops dont stop you if you are wearing a lid or if you havent commited any offence.
That Pandu wanted some money off me which i didnt give. He saw a black Pulsar and stopped me for no reason

I have done 800 kms in my bike but havent yet gone out of my area just because dad told me the day he seems me or comes to know that i went outside our area without obtaining a DL first he will straightaway sell the bike off, this condition even applies to the helmet.

i carry each and every document, with my lid always on the proper place..that is my head while riding (not on mirrors or helmet lock)
i have never been stopped by police men here for checking...coz here in shimla police men never stop bikes if the rider is wearing his lid..!!

theres this kinda funny incident where me and my friend-a fellow xbhp member went to vizag to go to araku from there...after the trips and all at the last day of the week we were saying that cops dont catch anyone here and are so liberal and all...just as we said that,next minute a cop catches us and says we have to wear helmets ...the thing is we just took out our helmets coz it was hot and we were suffocating..no one in vizag were wearing helmets btw...and when he said that we both were shocked and shouted "helmets?? "...he was taken aback and thought we will hit him or something...lolz

Hyderabad is the worst city I have ever seen, regarding this. Near hitech area you can always see some bikers standing their arguing with cops.. In past month I have been stopped 3 times. Now I have got the Photo copies of all the papers and put all of them in a envelop, Its like a compulsory item which goes with my wallet.
In bangalore I have been charged twice for driving in wrong direction in a ONE way road. Once paid 70/- bucks for not having any papers with me.(I had 70/- in my wallet, I had to show him. I had 3k in my pants pocket that time).
Once stopped my bike near a ATM, I saw the cop standing around 30 meters away. When I came back from ATM, he saw me and came running toward me. He was telling me that I should not park the bike on the road side. Then I had to argue him, why didn't you tell me when I was parking. :P, He let me go after that.

Chennai - One of the best place, never got stopped, though that was the only place where I never had all the documents(ROAD TAX/ Pollution certificate).

And yes I have also noticed that cops don't stop Bullets, may be they don't want to come in front of a Bullet. LOL.

^^^ it is just so surprising to me that at every junction in Hyderabad there are people stopped by police but I never got stopped. But I am never out without my helmet. As such, nothing to worry - have all the documents except that I forgot to renew my Victor's insurance. gotta do it fast!

• Underage, no license:Rs.20
• Underage, no license, rash driving & Bike impounded: Inspector was our neighbour. Parents spoke to him, reduced the fine amount. Paid Rs.300 in Vijaynagar Traffic Police Station. Dad didn't let me touch the bike after this till I turned 18 and got my DL.
• No insurance claims the inspector. Confiscates my DL, without giving acknowledgement: Actually had lifetime insurance, wasn't carrying it. Called up dad. He asked me to go home. He makes a call. Next day inspector offers chai in the station, apologizes, cancelled challan and handed back my DL. This incident happened on Wheeler's Road and the inspector in question was attached to Frazer Town. That inspector later got suspended over bribery unearthed by Lokayukta

This is in 11years. After I got my DL, I have been stopped only twice. One instance, as mentioned above in point3. Another one was in J.P Nagar during my Postgraduation days. Had a classmate riding pillion with me. Cop stopped me. Tried to fine for signal jumping (I hadn't) Called dad in front of him. Let go.
