Hopless are these security and intelligence agencies. They have absolutely no clue of what is going on until things take place and everything is chaotic! Bloody administration is hopless!

I only pray to god that those who lost their lives, their souls may rest in peace!

I hope the situation is under control soon and life resumes to normality. This is one of the worst ever terrorist attacks ever! I hope all those terrorists are killed!

Latest developments since early morning today (November, 28, 2008):

08:20 AM: Heavy gunfire can be heard from Nariman House. Ambulances have beeen positioned closer to the building. Fire brigade personnel are present on the scene too.

08:11 AM: Helicopters make Nariman House look like a war zone. Routes have been cleared for ambulances.

08:10 AM: Five commandos have landed in choppers atop Nariman house, and opened fire. Two to three terrorists are believed to be holed up in the building.

Sources say that a man can be seen on the seventh floor of the Oberoi wing of Hotel Trident. He can be seen talking on his mobile phone and dropping something from the balcony. Army men, who have surrounded the hotel, have moved in.

One NSG commando has been seriously injured in Taj Hotel, informed Mumbai Police Commissioner Hassan Gafoor.

07:48 AM: Another explosion has reportedly taken place at Nariman House.

The area near Hotel Trident is bustling with activity. Four trucks with over 50 NSG commandos have left the hotel complex.

Speakers are being mounted near Air India building [Images], and the names of the victims killed in Hotel Trident would be announced soon. Relatives of both hostages and victims have started gathering near Hotel Trident.

05:10 AM: Civilians are still trapped inside Hotel Taj, according to the latest reports. However, the number of civilians is not yet known.

Things have quietened down at the Hotel Taj, Hotel Trident and Nariman House. Sources say that the offensive by security personnel has been halted for the time being and will be resumed in the morning.

              Situation Update

At Nariman House: 2-3 terrorists inside
              Commandos airdropped at Nariman House
At Trident: Two terrorists still holed up
Stock trading to resume at regular time
7 hostages rescued from Nariman House

About 100 commandos are going inside Nariman House for final stages of the operation. There have been three explosions at Nariman House and helicopters are circling above the building. Terrorists are still inside the Taj and Trident hotels.

Terrorists involved in multiple attacks in Mumbai could be closely linked with Al-Qaida, intelligence agencies of world's major powers and terrorism experts have hinted.

Bruce Riedel, a veteran CIA officer, said the attacks had the hallmarks of an Al Qaida-affiliated group.

Israel never negotiates with extremists, neither does USA.

But these idiots in Government give up and release terrorists and pay ransoms.

Google Kandahar Afghanistan hijacking of Indian passenger airplane. I mean with such a huge Army these bastard politicians decided to compromise with Taliban instead of bombing their ass like Americans still do for over 2 years now.

Also Google last week's hijack of ship by pirates to Somalia - majority Indian sailors - the Japanese company was forced to pay huge undisclosed ransom - no military action (the other "pirate ship" blown up by Indian Navy was actually a Thai fishing trawler http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/ov/ar...e-pirates.aspx ).

Pathetic really - no spine and no credibility - the Politicians have reduced the Armed Forces to nothing but Republic Day parade puppets.

I went to work by public transport BEST bus on Thursday and again at office now today.

                  SOLIDARITY TO SHOW STRENGTH ! ! !

Of course the politicians have the best security so their rhetoric is as hollow as their souls.

THE PIGS of the National and State Government have made the situation worse by flying in from Delhi to Mumbai - so the Police have to now provide these pigs security instead of worrying about the hostage crisis.

That is Indian ruling politicians for you.

On the night of the attack - the State Government decided 3 hours too late to call in paramilitary - instead they let the Police handle these trained militant guerillas - and the result is the many dead including some top cops.

India didn't had a "No Negotiation" policy before Kandahar. So, they had to do what they were supposed to do. Forget about minister the families of the passengers were putting so much pressure on government so that they cannot think of anything else but releasing the terrorists. They had a chance at Amritsar but couldn't cash upon it. Releasing terrorists was the only option to get back the people. And accept it, we are not US. We don't have the balls of US. They can bomb Afghanistan coming all the way round the globe. India cannot do that. India doesn't have the same stature of US.

But, after that India now has a "No Negotiation with terrorists" policy. They don't negotiate with terrorists anymore. Also, we need to remember India might have some Nth biggest defense force but the weaponry and policies are very old. They need to have better training programs, develop arms as per Indian conditions and review their entire foreign policies.

Now coming to the question about ministers flying to Mumbai, well I agree they ALL should not fly in right now but there are certain ministers those need to be in Mumbai. Vilasrao Deshmukh was outside. He had to come to Mumbai. Manmohan Singh is PM and he will need a lot of security. So he has been adviced not to come there right now. Advani and Modi are the worst. They can do nothing but just come and blabber and go away. In India politicians don't think how we can improve things but continue to blabber for years to come about how they failed. Failure is an obvious thing. Failures do happen. But, we need to look ahead of them and work on some solid stuff to tighten the loose ends. We just say we are brave, we are one, we are united, our spirits are high and blah blah....but it is just for few days. I remember when Mumbai train blasts happened I got so many emails asking me to sign some "Alive Spirit" declaration. I did not sign it. Whoever sent me that I asked them why we remember of our alive spirit when we face a disaster. Why are we numb people engaged in our private comfortable lives when everything is normal? Why we get united when we are attacked? These are just few questions we need to think about.

Latest from Mumbai - Three gunshots have been fired at the GT Hospital near the Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus Station.

Some reports indicate that there has been firing near the Reserve Bank of India headquarters.

2write: Israel has compulsory military service. US has spent close to 600 billion USD.

Either you donate a proportionate share, enroll yourself, or kindly stop pointing the finger. We all think someone else must clean up the mess but neither do we have themoney to fund a huge operation, neither will we (most of us here) go join the army. We are only capable of rant posts and blame the whole world.

Its better to be quiet than just add to the din, no? especially when rant posts achieve close to zilch.

PS: My utmost respect to police and the various commandos and their courage, but honestly, I can never be in their shoes. But that said, I will not belittle whatever RAW/IB/etc agencies do, especially the best national service by most of us is just paying taxes.

and why does our govt does give license to private comapnies to make new weapons ..there are numerous comapanies in us making weapons....like the famous desert eagle made by isreal miliraty agency
smith and wesson another famous comapny of amerca.
                            colt weapons systems
                            many comapnies are there
                            and se in india
                            only
