Ohh man you say iPhone is Zero! Yes if you are planning to use it just as a phone then probably that might be true as with any other smartphone.Originally posted by GP_freak View PostNow i am totally confused when you are comparing Iphone4 and SGS2
.
What do you really want out of your phone ?
Actually there is nothing much to compare between these two phone. Feature wise i Phone is Zero. Only reason for some one to buy an I phone when compared to SGS2 is for Show off, or people who want a status image in public but not too worried about functionality of the phone other than making calls, or people who ardently love Apple and its products or people are patient enought to run only one App at a time.
But i phone is great to hold and look at from all angles which the SGS2 lacks. But the screen of the SGS2 can alone make many choose it. Hold both the mobiles, use it for 5 mins and you will repent asking this question becasue its so siimple to decide between both the phones.
You will either say its the i phone or the SGS2.
There is no point in actually comparing SGS2 and i phone. Apple fans, pls dont abuse me.These are my thought and BTW, i dont work for samsung too..
@ All - I am planning to get it SGS2 around 15th of next month. Any potential buyers of SGS2 ? Lot of discussions were going on towards bulk order in Xda. Any one here ?
I had personally used many phones (I currently have 3 phones - iPhone 4, Nokia 5800, Samsung Galaxy) and I'm very happy with iPhone. Its just not the hardware you have to look at; Look at the apps that can utilize the hardware.
I don't need a mobile which has a 2Ghz processor and say 2GB RAM which doesn't allow me to install any other app. I need a mobile which has a decent hardware and which allows me to use it to the fullest.
I had got more than 200 Apps in my iPhone 4 which are useful for me in different situations. I can easily scan a letter, edit it, attach an image and send it to a friend which cannot be easily done with other mobiles. So just don't go by the hardware alone.. Look for the apps and the usability!!

i've been using my iPhone 3G since September 13th 2008.
for me... there's just something about the iPhone (when compared to any other touchscreen)...
feels like an extension of my hand. and the OS is so freakin' intuitive.
my next phone will be the iPhone 4...
which incidentally made it to india after a 10 month voyage from the US...
or the iPhone 5.
It's perfect for what i use it for. Calls. SMSes. Music.
and i've also got a buttload of Apps.
i've had no issues with the phone since day one.
P.S: i must admit tho... the Galaxy AMOLED screen is brilliant.
but everything else about the phone is "just not happening"
for me it's been... Once you go Mac... You never go back.

Can you name a few apple apps which are not available in the Android market ? Just remember, apps are just codes compiled to do a task. It can be created at any point of time. But how about the hardware in the phone ? How about the features out of the box ? Remember, software evolves for a phone, but if the hardware evloves, then its a brand new phoneOriginally posted by samratreddy View PostOhh man you say iPhone is Zero! .BTW why dont you compare it with SGS2 and let all of us know how an i phone fares againts it. I am open to your comparison. Ah... why dont you do that first for IP4 and SGS first.
I am wondering why you were not able to install apps in Android.
Btw, i had an i phone last year from UK and had to convert every darn movie. There is no way i can connect it in mass storage and transfer data. These are some of the things which we will do on a daily basis and you dont scan a letter and send it across daily. In that case i will happily walk to a Cafe.I hope you get my point.
PS. Overlook typo pls

I agree with you. That is the exact reason for which i told that either its the i phone or its the SGS2. A person can chose it very easily with out any confusion. It depends on what the user requires.Originally posted by xionite View Posti've been using my iPhone 3G since September 13th 2008.

The iPhone vs SGS is like the classic R15 vs P220 comparison.Originally posted by GP_freak View Postwhy dont you compare it with SGS2 and let all of us know how an i phone fares againts it. I am open to your comparison. Ah... why dont you do that first for IP4 and SGS first.
The P220 has brute strength that the R15 lacks.
But the R15 just feels so good when u're on it dunnit.
and... Jailbreaking for the iPhone is the equvalent of getting ur R15 Joel'ed.
it isn't required to enjoy ur iPhone... but when you do... it can me magical.
oPlayer & VLC are just two Apps that allow u to drag and drop all your video files onto ur iPhone.. an ur set.Originally posted by GP_freak View PostBtw, i had an i phone last year from UK and had to convert every darn movie.
No conversion necessary.
there are Apps for that too.Originally posted by GP_freak View PostThere is no way i can connect it in mass storage and transfer data.

Guys check this out Apple iPhone 4 launched in India at Rs 34,500 for 16 GB model - The Economic Times
My friend is offering brand new iPhone 4G 32GB black for 32k and 16GB white for 35k with free unlock and jailbreak. Let me know if any one is interested.
I got my Galaxy S i9000 yesterday and whatever I had heard about it since past few months seems to be little. It an awesome cell with very intuitive touchscreen and brilliant 4.1" S-AMOLED screen which is surely a crowd puller. The 1GHz processor makes all the apps run seamlessly. Program memory is of several GBs which makes it possible to install tons of apps. And with Android 2.2 (Froyo) onboard we can even install apps in external memory. Camera is OK not that impressive but my Canon 550D makes me feel every other camera as puny
I have also purchased the limited edition Sygic's Map My India maps for Android for Rs. 450/- from eBay which I will install today and go for an demo tour in my car. Overall Galaxy S is way ahead of its competition in terms of TS, display and performance. And for Rs. 21,900 its surely a deal to die for !

The reason Iphone has achieved cult status in three words "Unbeatable User Experience"! The status image in public and all of that is incidental... it comes only after the user experience...Originally posted by GP_freak View Post.... Feature wise i Phone is Zero. I have a Motorola Milestone... I bought mainly for the MotoNav feature... let tell you the Android experience in one word: "terrible"... Android development is fragmented and therefore is leading to a lot of glitches in the phone... sure you can always work around these glitches but is that the way its suppose to be? For example, while the phone was clean (meaning no apps), the MotoNav app would switch on without any issues... after installing a few apps, the MotoNav app will not switch on... it hangs and a hard reset is the only option to recover... now of the funny part, immediately after the hard reboot, switch on the MotoNav and its works
.... is that how things are suppose to be?
I have never face such experiences in a Iphone... my phone never hangs nor does it do the Houdini act where battery charge is concerned (suddenly you are down by 2 bars of charge)...Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

No doubt iPhone 4 has a very good hardware and software combo, which makes in enjoyably raw and responsive. Add to that the highly pixel-dense display, and you have a nice phone.Originally posted by pulsar_flame View Postfolks should i go for Samsung sgs2 or iPhone 4 ? i am deadly confused ! pls throw some suggestions....
But yet, with all modesty, I would say that sadly, its made by a company called Apple. A company so tyrant that they want that everything you use with your phones should be made by them or their representatives- chargers, batteries, connectivity cables, your pc management software, the apps, etc.
If you want to get some downloaded apps on your phone, it has to be through the official channel even if you created it. No memory card slot too.
It's hardware design is subject to less signals. Multitasking is somewhat limited. No file transfers over Bluetooth/ USB. no damn radio on it, and you have to use iTunes software to send everything to the phone!!
It's no wonder that Android disposed off Apple iOS sometimes back in terms of sales. I would suggest Samsung Galaxy SII if you want freedom of usage.
Still, if you want to do your research, read below:
Apple iPhone 4 review: Love it or hate it - GSMArena.com
Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II review: Brightest star - GSMArena.com
As you can see, demerits to the Galaxy SII are very less- plastic body, bit overheating, no camera key, no hot swapping memory card, and that's it!
Whether its graphics, body weight, feel, signal quality, video recording, still camera, freedom of usage, accessories support, everywhere Galaxy S2 leads, except maybe display's pixel density.Last edited by Samarth 619; 05-27-2011, 04:22 PM. One cant say iphone is totally useless.. unless its jailbreaked of course.been a 3gs user since a year and it never let me down in any way.how ever that battery % always makes me freak out
.. i have apps for everything except bluetooth.saddens that i cant use a bluetooth in a high end phone to tansfer my files (app still dint come for ios4.1) where as my sister uses it in her micromax q5... its liek my iphone is living on jailbreaked apps to a major extent.Theres a DISKAID app for using teh phone as a hard drive.VLC to play any type of video file.
as another member said the touch of iphone is quite different.if one uses it for a long time ,one cant quit using it.its addictive.not to mention a time killer with those games and stuff.what i hate about apple is that they include the last decade's feature and advertise it as if they installed something revolutionary and what gets me is that they wont incorporate that installed feature fully.for example that stupid video calling.it can be done only via iphone to iphone and that too only on wifi..WTF ??? and we have to create an app again to counter it.
the gsmarena folks aptly said...its a love and hate relationship for every iphone user except the die hard "i stand by my iphone" users..I RuLe Da HeAvEn, I RuLe Da heLL,I RuLe Da UnIvErSe, As HuMaNiTy FeLL

Finally got replacement for my SGS-2.
The heating issue is not much on this one when compared to earlier.
And the battery backup is also little better than the old one.
Experience till now have been pretty satisfying or quite happy with it.
1. Performance is top class (I can easily say better than its competitors).
2. Display is top class, I have seen few photographs that I haev clicked earlier on my SGS2 and fell in love with them again.
3. I never had problem with Android on my earlier phone Xperia X10 and definetly not yet any on SGS2.
4. No dead pixels as pointed out by GPFreak.
For me its VFM and right on.
As there is comparision going on with iP4 and SGS2, well both are good in certain areas and both are very very good in another areas.
Unless you are not leaned towards a BRAND, SGS2 must be the choice.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
