bro ace specs are quit impressive and its back cover has nice texture .bigger screen then c601 .and 120 mhz fast processer from c601. and lighter in weight too.
nokia ovi maps suxs they only show maps of city. if you want all terrain maps go for google maps which ace is pre loaded and can be installed in nokia.
c6 01 8mp camera is fix focused . and ace got auto focus help get picture more clear and focused.
but ace lacks front camera for video calling.

If symbian is your thing then it is NOKIA

if it is android, then it depends on how much you're willing to spend
ACE is a good phone with processor clocked at 800MHZ ARMV6.... its only negative is its battery 1350maH it is bit low considering the proccy power and 3.7 inch screen and i think it doesn't support flash, as far as the UI is considered samsung's touchwiz is stunningly cool with feather touch!

DEFY is definitely on top but its too costly.if you can extend you budget go for DEFY!

otherwise i have one more suggestion:
LG optimus ONE p500 which is priced at around 11k complete VFM phone with 600MhZ processor 512MB RAM ARMV6 QUALCOMM and the best part it has 1500MAH battery i am getting 40 hrs for backup with moderate usage.. ace has nothing but an overclocked version of this processor plus it has only 325Mb ram i think. Both can be upgraded to Gingerbread android 2.3,both has android Froyo running out of the box ! both lack flash support! the only thing that separates optimus from ACE is camera ...ACE has 5MP LED FLASH while p500 has got 3.2MP with no flash.. if camera is your priority then leave aside optimus if it is not then do consider OPTIMUS ONE.

and regarding Galaxy 551, batterry is a huge issue with this phone...battery lasts hardly 6-7 hrs max with moderate usage. the Plus point is it has gor HW keyboard, but it is not worth 12k.

please suggest me a good phone in this range!
my main priority is android and a quite good hardware too!!
i have shortlisted samsung galaxy s which perfectly fits into my budget!
experts please suggest me whether to go for it and also the pros and cons of it!
and if not then some other phone please.

Whoa! Got meself a Galaxy S just yesterday. The Froyo it came with just lasted a few hours with me, instantly got Gingerbread running on it, so can't comment on the difference vis-a-vis Froyo vs Gingerbread. There's just one word to describe this phone and its display, "BRILLIANT."
I would wholeheartedly recommend this phone to you.

defy is available on flipkart at 17,1xx i know its not much of a difference.. but still you can consider...

You have a lot of options. Galaxy SL, Optimus black and Optimus 2X if you can extend a little bit more.

I was just considering the Nokia for the support i.e Extendable Warranty period. But i am seriously considering a budget smartphone.I cannot exceed 15k so i have shortlisted the new Samsung Galaxy pro B7510/HTC Wildfire S and Galaxy Ace.

The way I look at it, you get a 3.7" SLCD screen with 400x800 res.+front cam&good enough build quality with 1 GHz processor. For the same kind of features, you would have to shell out 25K+ in Android.
If you are not a heavy duty apps etc. user, I think its a fulfilling choice.

@GP_freak: What do you think-is this a good option for me?
